We stopped here one evening around 7 PM and ordered burgers, fries and drinks for 3 --- eat in. The food was packaged up in a bag and left in the UberEats pickup area for 15 min. or more. My son finally went up to inquire why our order wasn't ready and they pointed to the pickup area --- they never called us to come get our food. Our food was lousy - burgers tasteless, the fries were ice cold and, if you know how good McDonald's fries are fresh, then you are aware how terrible they are when they are cold. Customer service was non-existent. There were PLENTY of employees in the place, they just weren't doing much or paying attention to the customers. The restrooms were dirty, there was a lot of water (I hope it was water) on the floors. The only positive thing I can say is they did give us the correct food that we ordered ... it was just terrible food --- even for fast food where expectations are not that high. I sent a message to McDonald's corporate and they said they would "pass it on to the franchise operator." I replied to their reply: "Dear McDonald's Customer Care - Your response is generic at best, and pointless at worst. We had a seriously terrible experience (not just "unsatisfactory," terrible! Cold food, long wait time, filthy store, nasty restrooms, etc.) at the McDonald's owned by one of your franchisees and are unlikely to give ANY McDonald's restaurants our business in the future. We went to McDonald's because there is a standard of service and quality we are used to and, while we haven't been often in the last year or two, the drop in quality and experience was unbelievably bottom-tier." Yes, this McDonald's is in a College town. Yes, this McDonalds is open 24 hours a day. That however, does not give them the right to deliver such awful service. I placed a Mobile Order and waited over 40 minutes curbside for my order. I had a receipt in my email saying the order was ready but never received it. The staff said they had no food or orders ready and I was charged for food I never received! I have a suspicion they just handed my food to someone else because you can see the people go through the drive thru while waiting curbside and one car seemed to get a large amount of food and was laughing like they got away with something as they left. The food is exactly what you'd expect from a McDonald's. The service is achingly slow. It takes forever for my order to be made, seemingly no matter how many people are in line. The customer service isn't great either, but I can understand that because it's mostly high school kids working there. Well... this is the first time I've ever made money from eating at a restaurant. If you would like to hear the story, stick around but if you just want a review just know that it's your normal McDonald's but gets minus stars for being understaffed and because my McCrispy was McDry today. Okay now story time! Upon pulling up to the second window of the drive thru, the lady had us pull into a parking spot and we were told that someone would bring us our food soon. However, to my absolute dismay, "soon" turned into 5 min which turned into 10 which turned into 30+. As we waited, other cars behind us pulled into parking spots beside us having received the same message from the window lady. But one by one they got their food and left until we were the only ones remaining despite being at the front of the line. Luckily, my friends and I kept ourselves entertained by fencing outside with skiing poles and listening to music but though my soul was glad, my stomach was not. Eventually, our food was brought and the lady was so kind. She explained that she was the only one working in the kitchen and she was not informed of our existence. She gave us a full refund and 2 free meal cards to use in the future. Now you're probably wondering, how did you make money?? Well, I had a coupon that reimbursed me $5 if I spent $15! Should've known that my order was going to be wrong when the employee at the pay window told me that I was mistaken when I ordered, when I had witnesses that were in the car with me, when I placed the order. This was the second time I've ordered through Doordash and found out this McDonalds couldn't fulfill the order because their ice cream machine was being cleaned. They didn't notify anyone and the dasher didn't find out until he was there to pick it up. McDonalds wouldn't even substitute other items of the same value. Had to contact Doordash to cancel and get a refund (which they were great about.) What kind of manager has someone take the machine offline for cleaning during the lunch rush?
