They don't answer their phone out of service and I ordered a number one told him to please no sauce of any type catchup mustard, mayonnaise, or secret sauce. Ask him to please make sure the fries are hot, cold fries, and a soggy burger from all the extra secret sauce they put on the burger I will never run through the drive-through again every single time on my way to Nevada or back to California. This McDonald's is located inside The Barstow Station and that's the only reason I've ever stopped here on my way to and from California. I use the restroom, get my Lotto tickets, and grab a bite from McDonald's. This last time will be my last however. Just walking up to the counter it smelled like dirty mop water or old fry grease. Either way- yuck. Both meals I had there this last weekend were disgusting. I couldn't even finish them. Either burnt or limp fries and burger that looked like it was from the dumpster. The leftover stinky food stayed in my car until my next rest stop- I was so tempted to throw it out the window. I know this place is hectic and full of hungry tourists, but customer service here is rude and very impatient. From now on I'll pass on coming here and I suggest you do the same. read more

This has got to be the worst McDonald's I have ever been to. We thought the service would be faster by ordering through a kiosk, but boy were we wrong. We ordered a happy meal and a cheeseburger meal and it took us 35 minutes to receive our food! Everyone was waiting around and all you heard were people complaining about how long the wait was. When I went to the pick up counter to inquire why our order was taking so long, the worker told me they were just waiting on my fries. This place is poorly run and the tables were dirty and it smelled like Irvine near the trash cans. They definitely need to hire more bodies at this McDonald's. Not sure where to begin? First off I didn't order any food here. I came here to use the bathrooms and be a tourist. Not very often will you see a converted train turned into a McDonalds. I really liked how they used the caboose for the seating area. Around the souvenir section, they have a crap load of stuff. I admit I bought a key ring cover that says my name on it. The area with all the souvenirs seemed to stretch pretty long for being an old train station. I really liked the concept. Bad part is the parking lot. I feel strange reviewing a Mcdonald's on Yelp somehow, but two not good things stuck out to me very clearly. I was driving back to L.A. from Vegas a week or so ago, and I needed some coffee and a bathroom. I saw that this one was right next to the freeway and so I came parked and went in. One look at the menu and I realized the prices were abnormally high- some things twice the price of what they are at almost any other Mcdonald's I've been to. I'm not an expert on the chain itself, I would never eat the food only a few beverages but the menu was saying like $10-12 for ordinary combo meals and I just thought "can that be right?" Sure enough, a cup of coffee was a little more than twice as much as I've paid for it at other ones. I mentioned it to the person ringing me up and they said "yeah new owners came in and bought the place and then raised the prices on everything... also they won't allow us to have any water or beverages on our breaks". It was a little shocking I felt bad. Negative reviews often have a way of making it to people who are pretty high up, and if that's you & you're reading this, screw you. read more

After explaining to her AGAIN, that the cashier kept the receipt after my husband got a refund on an item. The ticket or receipt was reprinted so they can look at our order. The female asked for our bag back so she can look at it... girrrrrllll... the kids were already eating! I still asked for a refund on just the ONE item, not the whole freaking order. She says she can't give me a refund without the receipt... SERIOUSLY WOMAN!!!! IT'S IN YOUR FREAKING HAND! She then offered a food item that cost LESS ! Hell NO, give something of equal value. If you're driving along I-15 to or from Vegas, this place makes the perfect pit stop. Parking is available in the nice large lot out back. This location is very unique in that it's train-themed. The dining area is actually a converted carriage. This place does well for sure. Almost TOO well. The main counter was a total war zone. Thank goodness it's a nice open area. But the service is VERY fast here. 40 McNuggets here are only $9! So beautiful. The location is attached to Barstow Station (hello tacky tourist trap), so you can also browse for useless trinkets after you're done chowing down. This is worth checking out. The only similar comparisons I can think of are Honest Ed's in Toronto, or Wall Drug in S Dakota. read more

Do not dine in at this McDonald's or even go inside if after dark. We stopped by last week on our way to SoCal. It was already 10 PM so we figured most of the other fast food joints and coffee shops would be closed. Went inside this McDonald's to use the restroom and grab some coffee. They don't seem to kick out any of the homeless population because there's a bunch of them just sitting around inside, checking you out as you walk in. They have a number of automated ordering kiosks inside which is nice because you can leisurely place your order from a touchscreen instead of having a cashier wait on you. As I was finalizing my order, it came time to swipe my card and as a took out my wallet, a homeless guy appeared to my left and started whispering some nonsense. It made me feel very uncomfortable and I asked him to back off and beat it. I'll never be back unless McDonald's addresses this issue. Why let the homeless crowd in just to hassle your paying customers? It's not like any of them were eating or purchasing anything! I'd recommend hitting the drive thru or visiting another establishment. If you're just looking for coffee, go to the Starbucks across the street. Zero homeless people there (probably because they give them the boot) and cleaner restrooms/tables/etc read more

Basic food, basic cost--generally a "Basic" experience. However, two things make this place stand out: the very cool railroad train cars, and (if one MuST drive-thru),the customer service at the window. There, a young man, Israel, made small talk to distract me from the wait. He was funny and kind. The famous railroad themed McDonalds. Great tourist stop for a break for food or urinary relief. Now that you can get breakfast all day I go for the pancakes and sausage. I really never wanted to have to get McD here. I'm not one of those people who are like, "I'm not eating McD because it's trash food." I can enjoy a cheeseburger and fries from here every once in a while. The reason is because this Barstow Station tourist trap is usually packed and generally feels dirty. There was indeed a line here when I came in, but it moved quickly. The food came out quickly as well, and wasn't any worse or better than the McD near me. The bathrooms here are cleaner and newer than the ones on the other side of the station, but there are no paper towels and their hand dryers don't work. read more

This place was absolutely terrible. Stopped there on our way back to vegas to take a bathroom break and get a bite to eat. Right when we arrived their bathrooms were closed off with a countertop so, we had to walk over to the beef jerky area to a bathroom that was very dirty even though when we walked in the cleaning lady was walking out. Then once we went to order our food the line for the kiosks and register were both so extremely crowded. Even then, we ordered and waited in another long line for 15 minutes which i usually wouldn't be complaining about but, this place has no air conditioning even in 110 degree weather and very little room for the amount of people that were there. This is a unique McDonalds, it has a water tower and was built on a train station. Don't worry, it's not just a McDonalds, want pretzels? Go to the Wetzels Pretzels in the train station. Do you want tacos? Well you're in luck! They have a taco place that I forgot the name of that also sells donuts for some reason. Want some Chinese food? Well you're lucky!!! They also have a Panda Express! They also have games, mind readers, and other things to do!!! Have a sweet tooth? They have candy! The employees were very nice and it is not a "tacky and trashy" tourist trap TRIP ADVISOR. But do me a favor, Ronald McDonald has a hole in his pants (Just don't put straws through it), while the rest was connected, tell McDonalds this has no logic. This is an iconic McDonald's and I'm sure as an investment has paid for itself and made money hand over first decade after decade. Been stopping by here since the 90! Damn I'm old. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is always served fresh and tasty. Their restrooms are clean and their dining area is even cleaner. There are a few big potholes outside that should get filled but still worth the visit. When traveling to and from Vegas, this is always a great location to take a break.
