The customer service was fine. The serve time was expeditious. The restaurant was clean and the Sundays were good. The chocolate sauce used was a tad bit watery, consistent wise, from what I'm used to my Sundays being topped with, But the chocolatey flavor was still there. I know it's a bit of a watered down complaint (no pun intended) that's why I feel it didn't warrant the removal of a star for this review. I also know how somewhat overly critical I can be about how my Sundays are made. One other thing I liked was the Bogo special they had going on with certain menu items, one of which being their Sundays. so the fact that I was able to get two for the price of one, definitely put a smile on my face.

Ice cream, service and ambiance were perfect! Staff was friendly and professional. Service was fast and efficient. Ambience was calm and they played some great music, not noisy. Their bathrooms were very clean. This spot is definitely going on our favorite places to eat list. Thank you.

I was in Barstow for the very first time a few weeks ago and it was a pretty interesting experience. I was under the impression Barstow was a small city but in actuality it's kind of a ghost town. We headed downtown in hopes of getting some food but the abandon buildings and empty parking lots told us hitting a drive through would be the best bet so we are very lucky to come across Fosters Freeze! This place looked straight out of the eighties and even though I've been to California many times, I don't think I've ever noticed this chain until now, so I was happy to check this place out! I ended up ordering the cheeseburger melt combo meal with french fries and the price was pretty similar to most other fast food places. We placed our order and pulled up to the window where we did sit for roughly five minutes, so I'm assuming food is made fresh here and that's something I can appreciate. The food itself was pretty darn good too! The cheeseburger melt was pretty large, flavourful, and tasted really good. The french fries were something you would expect from a small time burger place and let me tell you, they were really good. Overall, Fosters Freeze is a solid place to come for lunch, and definitely a good place to get food in Barstow. Was the place new and updated? no, but who cares? The food was good and it's definitely a golden star in what Downtown Barstow is these days, so if you want some food, come and grab a burger!

We were safe after having our tire blowout on the freeway. We found a shop that had tires for our car- they recommended a bigger tire, so we went with them. It would be some time, so we came here to eat. We had other options like a mexican restaurant, but I liked that this was down the block from the tire shop. We each had a sandwich. I had the CA Grilled Chicken, hubby and son had a burger. We split the fries. It was $24.32. We ate inside. I enjoyed it. Hubby and I split the burger and the chicken sandwich. If it isn't over greasy, then it's good for me (ever since I was pregnant, my system doesn't tolerate the greasy stuff). Our son can have regular sized portions now. He loves meat, our little carnivore. The fries were good. There was another party next to us at a table. This was very popular. Lots of people coming inside to order and eat; maybe there were more to-go orders. I think that there is also a drive-thru window. (I didn't think that there was one back home until I checked Yelp, but it's way on the other side of town.)

People are missing out on America's fast foods if they haven't been here. It's a sit-in/dine-in location with outdoor seats/tables too. Cute bar stools with beautiful/cute vibes. Customers enjoying ice cream cones and happy fast foods. No, you don't need to eat junk foods every day or week in your life, but if you're on a road trip around here, this would be a very ideal stop in a great little section of town. Burgers, hot dogs, potato fries, patty melt, burrito, sundaes, milkshakes, etc. Great selections. Felt like eating the old elementary public school lunches again. Yes, high calories that you can burn on the roads. These old school stops are low in prices and are worth it. Interior was well decorated with Route 66 signs and props. Exterior looks decent with lots of parking spots. Drive in area is always packed, but this street is so much better than restaurants near gas stations. It was very decent, organized & had clean gender neutral restrooms. Good customer service and great management. Near old railroads and bridge paths. Not far from traditional Route 66 Mother Road museum site. It's a very happy American food place. We'll likely be back in another week or two while passing through again. Love it!

This is a 5-star, small town, fast food joint. The food is well prepared and fresh. The venue is quite clean; a marvel since it is frequented by kids after sports events. The employees are great and take pride in a job well done. Today, I am particularly impressed by Destiny, Matt, Chris, and Anthony. Matt, especially, seems super focused on making flavorful food. He impresses. This go-round, I wish to sing the praises of the oft-ignored hot dog. I am a fan of these creations and Foster's does it right. A toasted bun which Nestle's a perfectly grilled dog, covered in a pile of grilled onions and condiments... Yummy! The espresso freeze is a must have. Forget the $7 milkshake at Starbucks: this is the real thing and, no true comparison. Anyone driving thru Barstow: this place is worth the few minute detour from the freeway. Locals: don't forget that we have a few gems in a sea of sameness.

(4.25 STARS)…read more Memorial Day road trips always seem to create the best random discoveries, and Pit Stop Bar & Grill absolutely delivered. Tucked away off Victor Street in Barstow, this was a fun find while driving back to Los Angeles from Vegas over Memorial Day weekend. Big props to Haley M., who was basically running a one-woman show and somehow kept the entire place moving with a great attitude and solid service. That alone made the stop memorable. The location has a cool, laid-back vibe with plenty to keep people entertained while grabbing food and drinks. They've got two billiards tables, a dart board, and all kinds of classic bar games, board games, and card games, including UNO, which is a family favorite. They also have several televisions. The food was all good too. I really enjoyed the Green Chili Burger, and everyone else in my party seemed genuinely happy with their meals as well. I felt they were trying to nickel and dime when I got the bill, i was charged for a side of ranch, a side of BBQ, and had no idea I was being up charged for the onion rings. I didn't say a word, but it hit wrong with me. .75 points deducted. What especially stood out to me, though, was the Memorial Day place setting displayed near the front entrance honoring our veterans and fallen heroes. It was simple, respectful, and genuinely touching. See my picture. That detail said a lot about the heart behind this place. If you're making the Vegas-to-LA drive and want something more memorable than the usual freeway fast-food stop, this place is definitely worth checking out. Great atmosphere, friendly energy, and one of those spots you end up talking about later.

First, and probably the most important, they don't have Diet Pepsi, but Pepsi Zero. And Pepsi Zero is just awful. And yes, I tried it. I admit that I'm a fan of Coke products, but I'll survive on Diet Pepsi, never, but never Pepsi Zero. So that alone makes me not want to come here anymore. This trip, the girl taking our order seemed confused. Maybe she was new? But it didn't help that we had to explain we wanted a bowl of Chili, and even though it's not on the menu, they could sell it. I personally didn't want a burger this time, so I ordered a chicken sandwich, which is basically just chicken tenders on a bun. Not very impressed, but it wasn't as bad as Pepsi Zero. They do get credit for having a "senior" menu, which I ordered from. And I appreciate that they have tater tots. It seemed like a smaller portion, but it was actually perfect for me. I'll keep checking back, but if I see they still only serve Pepsi Zero, I might be walking over the McD's for my drink.

We decided to try a different burger joint vs the typical In-N-Out, McD, Burger King, Carl's, Jack, etc. Boy am I glad we stopped by here. Pros 1) they had a Burger menu, as well as other Mexican food dishes and desserts on the board. Love the variety! 2) restaurant looked clean. I didn't see any dirty tables, trash on the floor, or sticky counters. 3) cashier, Andrea, was very nice. 4) we got the grilled cheese sandwich ($3.99), mushroom burger ($6.50), and a combo which is a bacon burger with added cheese & fries ($10.99). If you add cheese, it's an additional $0.85. For something so simply and normal, these were delicious. Burgers were so juicy, bread soft, meat good, and flavorful. Little one loved the grilled cheese sandwich. Fries were made perfectly. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and seasoned with salt perfectly. Made me think I should have tried a Mexican dish instead of the mushroom burger. Lol If a burger can be that good, the Mexican dish must be even better. 5) no soft music here. Restaurant is very quiet. The customers who arrived were all very quiet. 6) love how as soon as Andrea see someone come to the counter, she immediately walks to the register to take orders. 7) it's our 1st time there and she didn't rush us or give us an attitude, while ee were still deciding what to order because there were quite a few stuff on the menu. 8) nice large parking lot. Cons 1) bathroom was closed due to them just mopping the floor. But I understand that. Sometimes you want to clean stuff up so you can close and head home after. Versus staying late to clean. Conclusion We actually were very impress with the foods we ordered here. So good and juicy. No complaints. Andrea was very professional. I forgot to take pictures of our foods because it was that good. Plus we ordered to go and ate in the dark in our car. Lol I recommend this restaurant if you're on the move and need a quick grab. Dine in: May 15, 2026…read more It's my first time trying the Original Tommy's burger restaurant. We came here specifically for the 80 cent chili cheeseburgers deal for their 80th anniversary. There was so many people waiting in line to order and also waiting for there foods. The hype of the chili cheeseburgers isn't even that awesome. It was a waste of my 2 hours+ for the foods that taste similar to sloppy joe from the cafeteria. It felt so suffocating waiting for our foods since there's so many people already waiting before us. The lighting was bright and it's pretty spacious but felt pretty off with everyone still waiting 2-3 hours+ for their orders. Its very chaotic while several customer's were going nuts because of the wait. While they were complaining to staff members when their foods coming out. We almost got our foods sooner but several women's when off on the staff for waiting x amount of hours and still didn't get the orders yet. We ended up having to wait until 10:33pm to get all our orders. We requested to get french fries first which was around 10:13pm since we're hungry. But mind you we been here waiting since 8:04pm for the whole order. We finally took our first chili cheeseburgers bite at 10:38pm. We left the restaurant by 10:59pm/11pm. The fries we requested at around 10:13pm was hot and fresh. By the time our whole order was ready to be called for us to pick up at the front counter. The batch of fries inside the box was already cold & old which tasted soggy and nasty. I don't understand how it wasn't even fresh at all since we were like the last few 10 customers left out of a few hundred after the 5pm - 7pm rush hour slot was over. We landed in the 8pm slot with only about 10 customers left or so. The customers was greedy as well who ordered multiple foods on different receipts. There was some who had stacks of receipts just for the chili cheeseburgers alone. We came here for the chili cheeseburgers(8), fries(4), Large drinks(2), and an ice cream cone but they only had cups(1). Most people only came here for the chili cheeseburgers only. The cash register lady told us we can purchase a multiple of 10 burgers per receipts. We only got 8 chili cheeseburgers since everyone was hypeing how great it was. It was just a big fat disappointment. You can literally get it elsewhere with better service and fresher taste. The chili cheeseburgers alone had so little bits of ground meat in it. I literally thought it would be on the chunky side but nope. The beef patty was small like the size of a hamburger patty at McDonald's. The buns is the only thing that was big which made the burgers looked big. They only put so little chili on each burgers as well. So the ingredients to me personally seems a bit on the cheaper side not worth the time and effort. I really don't understand how people hype how good their burgers are. The burgers and fries did not taste as fresh as I thought it would be. Everyone who's exaggerated about the chili cheeseburgers need to rethink it again. There are better burgers that taste more delicious and a bigger portion. My overall experience was definitely not that wonderful. I personally would not recommend this restaurant in general. The staff wasn't all that nice and friendly. I really don't understand the disorganized staff members and the food order arrangement was not coming out in an orderly manner. There was no intercom to call out your number. Everyone waited too long for their orders. They should have capped the multiple transactions for each customer to only one per visit. Then again everyone was so greedy. I just wondered if they were all going to eat it in one sitting. We couldn't even finish all our foods which we took the rest home for later in the week. I know we were greedy too but at least we did not have multiple receipts. The food was not completely fresh eventhough we waited for hours for the completed food order. You literally thought since they were busy shouldn't the foods be hot and fresh too. I personally think they gave us other people leftovers who ordered something differently and requested a redo for their burgers. I'm 100% sure they repackaged it with a new wrapper and gave it to us so we can consume it. I hope it's not true. I see it all the time when it usually happens behind the seen because the workers too lazy to cook more. I actually got one chili cheeseburgers with missing half a patty. I really don't know what happened to it but it was missing. So I'm assuming it probably dropped or so and they were too lazy to make more. After we got back home I had a tummy ache. I ended up having a massive diarrhea. It's a good thing I made it home before it ended up on myself. I'm thinking the chili kicked in. I will not come back here again at all. But you never know I might change my mind in the future. You can give them a try. Be your own judge. Eat at your own RISK. As of now it's a no go for me!!
