Diner is ofd route 66 and it's very casual and laid back. Service is excellent and the staff is friendly. Food reminded me of old Fashioned diner and delicious! Good pit stop to grab a bite to eat while you're on the road going to or from Las Vegas.

We ordered from Roy's Cafe via DoorDash. We ordered a typical breakfast, waffles/french toast/Waffle/bacon etc. The waffle was okay, very thick like bread. The bacon tasted like it was cooked in old grease, the pancake had zero flavor. Overall not the best experience. Based on prior made reviews, I'm sure this was a bad day. I've eaten here before a few years ago and enjoyed my experience then.

Cute diner atmosphere. Obviously family owned and the food was great! Stopped on our way through Barstow. Will be back next time in the area. Awesome onion rings and fries.

Nice Route 66 vibe cafe. Stopped in for breakfast during our cross country Route 66 trip. We were seated right person seated and served promptly. The food had nice portions and was well prepared. Special orders and slight changes were no problem. I had the breakfast skillet with over easy eggs and it was very good. Our friend had the Denver Omelet with rice and beans and she said it was awesome we all were happy with our meals and would defiantly recommend for a nice, reasonably priced breakfast.

This was my second visit to Amboy Cafe and once again they delivered. On this visit I wanted and ordered a machaca and egg burrito with beans no hash browns to go. After tax it was a little over $17 bucks but was well worth it. After getting my order I drove to Love's gas station in Barstow and ate it there after gasing up my vehicle. I think this burrito was heavier then the breakfast burrito I had last year. I was not given a fork and knife but I managed to eat this behemoth. The end of the burrito would have spilled out if I lifted the whole thing to my mouth so I just lifted the top portion and ate it with the rest in the container. Absolutely delicious! Biting into the burrito just amalgamated all the flavors of the shredded meat, eggs, cheese and beans into a cohesive delicious flavor that was delicious and addictive. This baby had to have been well over 1 1/2 lbs of food and yes, it was so good I ate the whole thing and did not eat anything else for the rest of the day. Thank You Ambo Cafe I'm a customer for life.

Fantastic service with a smile and great classic American diner food! Definitely a solid stop if you're looking for something more authentic and satisfying than the usual chain restaurant experience.

The Molcajete was way too spicy, They straight up added the salsa from the chips and salsa in. The steak and cheese was great but the overall entree was not. The Service provided to us was great at first. Once we got our food we only got checked up on once and never again. Even when we were ready to check out. We had to go and find our waitress in order to check out. The Burger and Fries were good. You can never go wrong with them. I Think we would have liked their breakfast more.

Amazing food, great service! So many great options to choose from, on the menu. Small comfortable vibe inside and everyone is so friendly! Maritza was our server and her hospitality was amazing

After reading the wonderful reviews on yelp, my husband and I stopped at Roys Cafe on the way to Las Vegas. My husband ordered two eggs with bacon and hash browns, and I ordered the breakfast quesadilla without meat. Both of our meals were just okay. To be honest, we were both disappointed. Perhaps we should've ordered something else. We won't be stopping by again.

My wife and I ordered two vanilla lattes, the chicken and waffles, and a sausage breakfast burrito. Everything was cooked perfectly and flavorful, absolutely zero notes. The coffee is fantastic, the breakfast was incredible, and the staff was friendly and efficient, keeping the service moving quickly even when they were busy. We ended up coming back the next two days as well. We loved it so much that we came back one evening to try their pizza, and it didn't disappoint either. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. Excellent food, great coffee, and wonderful service!

We bought 2 coffees (a 12 oz drip coffee with half and half and a 16 oz iced latte). We also got 2 bagel breakfast sandwiches. Our total was $39!!!!! Even my tiny drip coffee cost significantly more than a Starbucks equivalent! The Quality I truly hate to say it because I want local businesses to be successful, but everything was low quality. My drip coffee was lukewarm when I got it, my wife said she prefers iced coffee from del taco compared to the one she had here. But the really disappointing thing was the sandwiches. First, they came out heaped with lettuce (on a breakfast sandwich???) I've never seen that before, and we didn't ask for it. After we picked the lettuce off of the sandwiches they were very small (especially for the price!!) I managed to eat about 2 bites of mine before I couldn't stomach it anymore. It was just bad. The sausage patty tasted freezer burned and was extremely dry and the egg white was undercooked. I love an over easy egg, but this was not that. This egg was not cooked enough to be served. My wife made it about 1 bite further than I did, then she had to call it quits. All in all, we paid $40 to throw away our sandwiches and drink aggressively mediocre coffee. What really sucks is that I want to support local businesses! I would love to keep going to a small local shop. But when they rob us blind and serve food like that, I can't justify it.

The corned beef hash came from a can but that is a good thing. (I never had much luck taste wise with the homemade kind.) The breakfast meal met with expectations; it was tasty and hearty. The single pancake was plenty. It was thick and tall. I also ordered a cup of oatmeal which came with all the fixings like milk, butter, brown sugar, raisins, and granola. The oatmeal portion was large for a "cup." The bowl size portion, even larger, of course, would be good by itself for breakfast. The oatmeal was nicely textured, smooth, and creamy. Service was exemplary and friendly. The dining room is comfortable. This place will definitely go on rotation as a breakfast choice. Parking is plentiful in their lot.

Ordered the Senior Two egg omelette w/spinach and sausage/home potatoes/banana bread although it turned into pumpkin by the time it got to me (no biggie, ate it anyway ). Plenty of sausage but will try bacon and spinach next time, and there will be a next time. Two light eaters - my friend ordered a cinnamon roll so we split my breakfast and her cinnamon roll. We could not finish the cinnamon roll because the omelette was so good and hot. The cinnamon roll was not my style, a little on the dry side, and I prefer it without the whole pecans (or walnuts)? Good, I just would rather have more gooey, buttery cinnamon weaving throughout. I would definitely come back here and recommend it for easy parking, quick service and good ole diner food. I feel it's the best of the breakfast places that I have found in the high Desert.
