    Bacon breakfast burrito

Got a bacon breakfast burrito. Flavor was good and fresh but way too much oil. Not sure if I would try again

Chili bowl, mild and almost soupy.

Focus here is on the diner food here. The actual structure and some aspects look like its frozen in time. Avoid the restroom. Lots of parking. Our server had personality. We sat in the back booths. They have some patio seating, too. I adore chili and this was a little thinner/soupy but was filled with a lot of burger meat and red beans. I just needed splashes of Tabasco to make it perfect for me. Mr Bland liked it a lot. Their hamburger is like a smashed-flattened shiny bunnies burger. Fries crispy and medium cut. **Loved that the cook walked up to our table and asked how our food was. What a sweet, caring man!

We went to Peggy sue but it was busy and I was really hungry. Found this place on Yelp and I have to say thank you god for this. At first, we hesitate to go in because it was empty but we like the atmosphere and decided to give it a try. Foods are fresh and all staffs are polite. Gave it a 4/5 because I ordered fries but they gave me veggies instead. Didn't tell them because we were in a hurry.

this is what i ordered not what i got

Service was questionable??! we had one order of the french dip and i ordered a breakfast burrito that was supposed to have what looked like chili.... came out with nothing on it ! When i asked for the remaining items that they show on their menu photo, the waitress said the menu constantly changes so we don't always have what's shown for your order..so I'll get you a side of gravy. She comes back with the gravy, we get the bill and she charged me for it! The French dip came out with corn beef, because the cook told the server i don't know how you want me to make a French dip with no roast beef. So as we sat here the food comes out and my guest says this is corn beef, not a French dip with roast beef!

Our breakfast! Breakfast sandwich with has browns and sausage, sunny side up eggs cooked perfectly.

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to Laguna beach from vegas. The food was perfect. The service was awesome. It was like dining in your grandmas kitchen. So helpful and friendly. Love this place.

Hidden gem...went to the old del taco place "Tina's Burger Den" and their water like was busted. Got sent to Penny's diner by then and food was good. Chocolate malt shake was on point. Ruben sandwich was the best ever!! The best sandwich ever. Chili cheese tots were good as well. Bread for Philli sandwich was so soft. It was good as well. Burgers were good. Meat was a little small for the bun but it was fresh and good. If you go get the Ruben Sandwich!!!!

For the last 25+ years I've driven by Peggy Sue's to/fro Vegas and I ^always tell myself that on the next visit to Vegas I will stop here. We finally did. It was amazing! Kicking myself for waiting so long. 4/5 stars for the food. 5/5 stars for the ambience. And the service was also a solid five out of five! The memorabilia and the decor inside is beyond words. If you love old-school Hollywood and old-school, Vegas, you have got to prioritize a stop here. Come by and see Peggy Sue's, and see if you can also see Elvis!

This restaurant certainly was larger than it looked from the outside. It is adorned with movie and character memorabilia that is interesting, fun, and kitschy. We settled at a table in one of the dining rooms that had wall decor depicting Lucy & Ricky, Elvis, and other famous stars of yesteryear, etc. Our exuberant server gave us an extensive menu. She was sweet, friendly, and very attentive. Their waitress uniform capture the past very well. It's so cute & appropriate for the vibe they've established. The food came out quick & hot. It's classic comfort food that is hearty & done well. We definitely enjoyed our stop here and leaving full. We were given a ticket to get a free tootsie roll from their ice cream & gift shop. The gift shop is full of unique souvenirs and trinkets. It was fun browsing but had to be on our way. We plan on returning. I'm be star off because their restrooms need some major attention; either a good scrub or complete renovation.

Hello, First off, I…read morehave to say that we absolutely love your place! We have been customers for several years. I feel like we need to bring this to your attention. Me and my husband, along with the a group of friends were in your place of business last Saturday night to watch Red Rabbit, who we love and follow. Around 12 or 1230 we noticed some commotion at the bar. Much to our surprise, your "new manager" was causing quite the issue with his boyfriend. Earlier in the night, he seemed to be actually managing the bar, however, at this time he was what seemed to be belligerent drunk. This went on for some time, even continuing out to the patio with customers trying to end the chaos. He was cussing, yelling at his boyfriend and demanding the Bartender serve him another drink. Once his boyfriend, was able to get him to leave, we even witnessed him punching a chair on his way out of the bar! I don't know the owners of this bar. I think they would like to know what happens when they are not there. This place used to be a great place to hang out with family and friends. This is not the first time we've witnessed drunk behavior from this manager. I have to say,, your Bar has a couple really good bartenders. And that is a reason we continue to come back. If this is the way the new vibe is in this bar, we will find another place to hang out. I truly hope that it gets handled. It is not fair to the customers, nor the rest of your staff.

The service was exemplary. The food was great, and it was a great overall dining experience. I get everybody has a bad or off day. And in this case Black Bear Diner made it right. Which in this day and age of throw away customers and compliments means a lot. I will definitely be coming back to this. Black Bear Diner and I have upgraded my review to a solid 4! Wow. That was underwhelming. I like Black Bear diner, I've been going to them for a long time, and as I was heading back to Las Vegas I thought I would stop here and grab a bite to eat as I have always had a great experience there. Well this time, it was an exception to the rule. It was busy so I was not too concerned about the wait time, which was minimal, and they got me seated pretty quickly. Quickly. I like the little newspaper style menus as they were fun to look at and interesting to read while you waited for your server. I already knew I was going to get the mini volcano, as it just sounded like the perfect combination of stuff for me to eat for breakfast. The waitress came by, really didn't look at me, which was odd. And went back to put it in. She came back with my coffee and said the order was in. Should only be a moment. This was great news cuz I was ready to eat and get back on the road. The food came to the table and it looked appetizing enough, they had the two pancakes and my fried egg on top and a piece of bacon and a link of sausage. Flanking the pancakes with a nice garnish of an orange slice on a lettuce bed. Here's the problem. Everything was lukewarm now it did come out pretty fast which was surprising to me that it wasn't really hot. But literally everything on the plate felt like it was sitting in a dish in the back with a warmer waiting just to be built. The pancakes there are usually really good this time. They were terrible. I was very very sad about this cuz I really like their pancakes a lot. The egg was cooked well but again it was lukewarm at best. Same with the sausage and the bacon. The sadder thing was the flavor just wasn't there. Normally they have some personality to it, but these felt contrived and run of the mill. Now. I don't know if they, like Everyone else is having to downgrade and downsize because of the cost of everything, but whatever it was it was not working for me. Again, I will say that I like Black Bear Diners but the one in Barstow I will be avoiding every time I drive through. This is sad, and I hope that someone in corporate reads this because it would be great to have this restaurant be top notch when you're driving between Orange county and Las Vegas or vice versa. Bottom line? I seriously doubt that I'll ever come back here. Which is a bummer, because I am a big fan of this particular chain. There are plenty of other great eating establishments in the Barstow area. So this one I would kind of drive past. ************* Response to Black Bear Diner Corporate Thank you for your heartfelt response. In fact, it was one of the nicest chat GPT responses I've read this week. At least you got my name in there which was a nice touch and made it feel more personal, however, when you forget to put your email in there for me to respond to, that leads me to believe you really don't care. Thank you for the response albeit a very perfunctory one.

We started with the chips we'd been craving, had the Grilled BLT burger, Classic Eggs Benedict, and finished it all with coconut cream pie and apple pie à la mode. SO GOOD!! Considering the generous entree portions AND our scrumptious desserts, we took half of the chips and dressing home. (And they reheated beautifully in the air fryer!)
