Well, so much for making it to Vegas without stopping. Some of my crew needed to stop and use the restroom and I gotta say, I do too, with that Starbucks coffee I'm using to keep awake. Lucky this McDonald's is open 24 hrs, cause of all the traffic this place sees. Barstow Station is kinda of a weird place, more of a tourist place, than just a place to get food and get going. They have all these old train cars set of for indoor dining. We all find the restrooms is the main thing. Well, who can actually stop at a McDonald's and not get some French fries! None of us need a real meal, just a couple of more hours and we'll be in Vegas and have a hotel and get some sleep for our work ahead of us. So, it's orders of fries all around. That's gonna smell good inside the Suburban! I ordered on one of those kiosk thingies and our food was out on no time ... the fries are already cooked I assume! Wow. Driven by so many times but never stopped until Dec 2025. Interesting set up. It seems to be like a train. The McDonalds is inside a larger shopping area. There was a boba place, some other food places, and souveneirs. The McDonalds had numerous kiosks to self order, but most of the people did not know how to use them, causing a backup. The restroom was ok, not dirty, but like the rest of the place kind of dingy and in need of a makeover. The food came out relatively quickly, and same old consistent food. Disappointed this train themed McDonalds was closed even though their posted hours online were 24hours. We were excited to stop by at night on our drive through Route 66 but they had just locked the doors at 10. Apparently many people had checked their hours on Google b/c there were 3 other people trying to get in too. So my rating is not on the food or service but on the location not being up to date. Crazy long lines today. Probably because people are traveling for Thanksgiving. Service was still decent and everyone was calm. Luckily we ordered on the app and did a counter pickup so didn't wait too long. However my nuggets and MC chicken weren't hot and was lukewarm. I was hungry and didn't go back to tell the staff. What's interesting about this place is that it's a train station theme with old train cars acting as dining rooms. Pretty cool concept! read more

So overall, I saw a lot of low reviews for this mcdonald's here but it is a stop along the way to las vegas.And it's pretty interesting having the train design and everything like that.But some of the things that people complained about was how it's fully digital.You can't order at the counter. Poor customer service and the restrooms not working and the tables are dirty.You know, it's like recently up until like, maybe four months ago order reviews that I read.But being here, I see the opposite, I needed access to the bathroom, got friendly service gave me the code.No, issues.The bathroom is clean and working as I walked through like the seating area.All of the tables look pretty clean to me.And yes, there's a little bit of a wait, but there's tons of people here.I mean, what'd you expect how you do?How did you really complain about that?I mean, you don't honestly give a little rating for that reason.But yeah, I mean, so what you can't order at the counter.Look at the day and age., now anyway, it is a really interesting spot. This is such a unique McDonald's off the freeway, connected to the Barstow Station. It's basically in a train car (which means it also gets pretty hot and stuffy during the summer months). This location was hopping with people...so busy! They offer the ability to order via self-service kiosks, but I did notice that many of them were not working. Sometimes automation isn't always better. They have bathrooms, but you need a code and the staff were so busy, so we used the ones at the Barstow Station while waiting for our food. Despite the amount of people waiting, we thankfully didn't have to wait for our food too long, because they were very efficient. They also serve the drive thru as well. My fries were sadly soggy and the Coke wasn't too crisp, but it may just have been that day. Typically you know what you're expecting when dining with fast food. read more

Be prepared for long lines to order via kiosk and long lines to get your food. I do feel for this restaurant employees as this location is popular as a stop and gets crazy busy. The day I am writing this review I waited over 25 minutes for nuggets. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else save your sanity. read more

We have always made a rest stop on our way to Vegas at the McDonald's on East Main St. in Barstow. That tradition may come to end as I was really disappointed this time. They switched to fully digital ordering to reduce the # people at the counter. One drawback for me is you can't order senior coffee using the kiosk. I was a little concerned when my order disappeared from the 'In Progress's queue but it didn't show up under the 'Now Serving' column. A few minutes later I felt better when they called my number. The place felt dilapidated. Men's room was closed. Seats are not that comfortable. By the way, they now charge for extra condiments. read more

It is a very busy McDonald's. Only able to order by the app or on the touchscreen. There is plenty of seating as it's a popular spot to have a break to and from Vegas. The food is normal; regular McDonald food. During busy times the food should be checked before leaving. I have had mistakes but it's easily corrected. read more

On our way to Las Vegas during Thanksgiving week, we stopped at the McDonald's inside Barstow Station for a quick lunch. It was crowded with many travelers, but there were plenty of seats. It's a McDonald's so I don't have high expectations at all. It's like every standard one I've been to before. It's really busy and pretty dirty. Tables aren't wiped up and trash is left on tables/everywhere. Our order was given pretty quickly but prices for food from here is getting pretty ridiculous for the quality of food you get. Service is alright but when we were here, it was obvious people working here did not want to be here. Food was alright. My husband got chicken nuggets and a burger. They didn't mess up the burger which was good. We also liked that it's set up like a train station so we sat inside the train which was cool. But other than that, it was an okay experience. The food was typical McDonalds. This is the busiest, slowest, and dirtiest McDonald's I've ever been to. Almost every trash can was overflowing with a mountain of trash. Haven't been to this place is a while, and now I remember why. Just as some of the other reviews stated, this place needs improvement. The interior is super dated and definitely has seen better days. You can tell the interior of the McDonald's trains have been updated, but for the rest of the building and restrooms, not so much. FYI: Many tourist/travel busses stop here, so be ready for long lines. When you enter the building, its a combination of several stores and gift shops. There's a Subway, Panda Express, a pretzel place, and others. I don't get the awkward seating for just two people with a large partition wall next to you (see photos). The only available area with bigger tables were closed! When traveling through Bartsow, I recommend going to the McDonald's on Lenwood, not this one. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! Ordered a Carmel macchiato and it took over 15 minutes to get it then when I received it it tasted awful Went to ask for a different one the guy looked at me like I was stupid. He's like yeah it's a caramel macchiato and I said yeah, but it doesn't taste like one. Can I have one remade he argued with me for about two seconds to tell me that he needed to see the receipt that I bought it, he literally just handed it to me not even three minutes before that. Spent 50 on food, which was not the problem I was perfectly okay with that but the fact that I went up to an employee and ask for napkins he told me you have to order from the kiosk I said I would have to order napkins his reply was no you have to place an order to get napkins. This place used to be a fun spot to stop for a restroom break and a fast food meal & back on the road quickly. They've made it over in the gray prison style inside & out. The service is kiosk only and the 3 kitchen workers move like molasses in January and give zero for anything while 20 people stand around waiting for their orders for an inordinate amount of time. Nothing fast, friendly or efficient going on here. We stopped because we were in a hurry. If you are also in a hurry I recommend stopping elsewhere. read more

Cute location with the train boxcars that you can sit in while dining in. Like many others, we stopped in Barstow on our drive back from Las Vegas and hit up McDonald's. We weren't really looking for a drive-thru option because we all needed to get out of the car for some fresh air and stretch our legs. This location was a little different with it connected to a couple of fast food mini restaurants and some small shops selling very kitschy California / American items. Cute idea and location, but I felt that the entire location needs to be renovated. The restaurant and shop areas felt dark and dingy, not bright and welcoming as other California McDonald's that I've been to. Also, the bathrooms needs to be enlarged and spruced up due to the amount of people constantly pushing their way in and out of them, who didn't get the codes for them like we did with our cashier. read more
