On a Vegas trip this location was on the way for a quick stop and man where we happy with the service. So much we came here on the way out of Vegas as well. Terrible service! We pulled up to the drive through to order a burger, a Mcmuffin, 2 hashbrowns, chicken nuggets, and fries. At first we said can we have 1 hashbrowns and he repeated back 2?! So we were like ok... Then for the egg Mcmuffin we wanted one without meat and he was confused so he said the egg Mcmuffin was without meat. We still said NO HAM (since we know it usually has ham) and he was like ok ok. Then we got chicken nuggets with honey mustard and ranch. He said they didn't carry honey mustard but said ok to the ranch. Then we got a double double with extra onions and extra pickles. He was like extra ketchup?! We were like NO. EXTRA PICKLES AND ONIONS. He said ok. Then we got a medium fries. He said ok Then the Vanilla iced coffee with 2 sugars and 2 creams. He said Regular?! And we said NO Vanilla! He sounded so inpatient like why the heck are we ordering so much. He kept repeating is that it?! Is that it?! He didn't repeat our order. We went to the pick up window and we got... Slowest McDonalds perhaps in the world. Unless you really want to run out of gas sitting in the drive thru for 30 mins, go to another one.

Always stop at Barstow Station on the way and back from Vegas trips for a pit stop and to eat usually if Dunkin Donuts is not crowded i'll be there but this is second choice cause not in the mood for Panda Express lol. This can get crowded when tour buses stop and everyone is hungry the lines could get outrageous like any typical Mickey D's just slightly higher prices of course. Pretty much everyone and their mothers take a pit stop at this Barstow Station when they're taking a trip from SoCal to Vegas or vice versa. SO it's also pretty much expected that this location is packed 90% of the time! What I love about this location is that they are efficient. They swiftly go through the line while giving great service. Plus during this most recent experience, our cashier even offered an alternative way of ordering our food in order for us to save money but still basically getting what we exactly ordered. She didn't have to do that since it doesn't benefit her in any way but she went out of her way to help us! Food-wise, it's the standard taste as what you would get from any McDonalds! Cleanliness could be improved. The soda machine area was covered with paper straw wrappers and dirty napkins but that's hard to avoid when there are regular huge influxes of customers. The one thing that this McDonalds has going for it is the novelty if making it look like a train station and being conjoined with other gift shops, all of which makes it an easy, cheap and fun stop to and from Las Vegas. Other than the 10 cent trinkets you can buy at the adjacent gift shops or the various gummy candy or ice cream or touristy souvenirs, it's a standard McDonalds. read more

This McDonalds has a different set up. The tables are adjacent to where you order your food. Food is your typical fast food. I was so hungry I pretty much scarfed my food down. I had the double quarter pounder with French fries (medium size) with an orange hi c. When you are starving like I was, you would think anything is good. French fries at McDonald's are always good. The burgers are ok. I normally go for the chicken nuggets with BBQ sauce. There's a small parking lot in front and there are 2 drive thru's at this location which seems to be convenient when they are busy. It is also located off the freeway. read more

Word of caution - this location is awful in terms of parking. I spent 10 minutes circling a narrow parking lot while hoards of people were walking to and from their cars to the station. I eventually gave up and had my fiancé park. Overall, the train car McDonald's is a cute place to visit. Great for a photo op and warm food. We had chicken nuggets as an appetizer before heading over to Peggy Sue's (let's be honest, I only stopped for the insta). The chicken nuggets were fresh and the food came out fast. This McDonald's is a good stopping point if you're making the trek from LA to LV, but since parking is horrendous I wouldn't bother trying to go back. read more

Not a favorite McD but it is located at Barstow Station which is the easy on & off freeway stop for restrooms, a few other food choices and getting out to stretch. McD counter folk are not friendly nor helpful on the several occasions I have stopped here. Prices are slightly higher than other McDs - with the exception of the current "$1 - 2 - 3" spcl menu. If I could give less stars I would. After spending $50 on lunch, we were force out of the dining area. We had just begun to serve the children and had not even started to eat our burgers. The assistant manager was unbelievably rude!!! She was yelling that the area was closed. We had to leave. However, there was no other seating , as several restaurants were to use the limited one car or tables. (Several other families had just finished their panda meals in the now closed area.) We explained we would be quick as we were going to get back on the road. She continued to scream that we must immediately leave the area. We threw our food in the bags, agin, we had not even had but a couple bites of fries. This lady was screaming at us that the area was closed. It was so embarrassing. I will mention that the area was a mess. Tables were not wiped and trash was full. I understand people are short staffed, but a quick 10 minutes of table wipes could have easily cured this. The assistant manager then told us we would not be refunded since we had eaten our food. This insanity progressed until she looked in the unopened boxes of our burgers. Our kids are screaming because they are hungry and wanted to eat. Finally a manager stepped in and started combining through our bags. I also should mention there were over 20 people waiting to order and even more waiting to be served. What a waste of time for all involved. We finally were refunded after being made to look like fools. So embarrassing. read more

Let's be honest, McDonald's as part of an old train car is still gonna be McDonald's. So I won't bore you with the quality of the food as it was as good as any other McDonald's. I will however tell you how impressed I was with their service. Barstow is pretty small, but this particular location has a TON of tourists flow through here (we saw 2 tour busses unload just in the 20min we were there) but everyone inside was calm and composed and got food out in a timely manner. This was certainly the busiest McDonald's I've ordered from but I felt it had some of the best service. It's also worth noting there are tables near by where you can eat your food in actual train cars that they repurposed. It's a fun little experience which also gives weary drivers an opportunity to rest their eyes and stretch. TLDR (too long didn't read): definitely a good break place if you find yourself driving through and want a quick bite you know and love with a bit of historic charm. read more

Rumors says that this is the best McDonald in California and yes I agree. You know why cause it literally feels that I'm inside a train and that's unique in my opinion. Though I'm not fond of eating in McDonald, but I gotta agree that this specific location makes it better. The food is always ok in here. I ordered a deluxe burger and it taste like a regular burger so it was just ok. Their grilled chicken wrap is good and I have no complains. This is going to be a very short review all I have to say is that this McDonald's doesn't have that many good reviews but I'm giving it a five star because they got every single thing in my drive-through order correct!! And this never happens! Also we happen to be talking to one of our friends that's overseas in the military (on video chat) when we were going to the drive-through so the McDonald's employee gave us free ice cream he said it was to thank our friend for his service. This is a fun McDs - where else can you eat your meal in a train car? The bathrooms are always clean and available even though I'm pretty sure they are shared with the whole mall. Eating on the little converted train is memorable in a good way. You look out at Main St. and your in a cozy little spot. It is warm in there with all the windows on certain times of the day and A/C may not work all that well in getting to the area but you have the choice to sit in a more conventional area. A very good place to stop on the way to Vegas. I must have been countless times. I always look forward to it. read more

It's silly but I love this McDonald's! It looks like a train station with actual train cars that you can sit inside of. Of course, it is not just McDonald's... there are other vendors that share the space. But the cars are decked out in McDonald's colours and McDonald's is the main one, with a large drive-thru and everything. Food-wise it is the same as all the other McDonald's and the price seems to be the same as well, but it is just fun to pretend you are in a McDonald's train. It is also conveniently located on the way back to LA from Vegas and there is a gas station across the street to fill up the tank for the drive back home. (Or I guess you can also stop here on your way TO Vegas ;)) read more

McDonald's break at the near halfway point between LA and LV. If you are looking for a pit stop to use the restroom, good place to do so, but the barrooms are closed at night. Drive through is still open late. The McDonald's exterior looks like it got a major facelift on the outside but the inside still remains to be renovated. The air feels a bit greasy when you get in but maybe that's from the place sharing space with other fast food establishments. read more

Absolutely the WORST experience ever. Avoid this McDonald's at all costs. The drive-thru will not accommodate most cars without curbing your rims, that's going to cost $$ to repair. The food was terrible and the service was even worse. We'll start with the nasty trash handing my food out of the window with 3" pointy fingernails and no gloves on. Nasty. Rude, too. When I told her that we had ordered more than two drinks for five people. We even reviewed the order before placing it. All she said was "I just handout what the machine makes" and glared at us. She made no attempt to apologize or correct the order. Then lets get to the food, no ketchup or napkins included, nor were they offered. The buns were all burned, the chicken was too, so much so that the food was inedible (see picture) Avoid Barstow Station and avoid this McDonald's. Stopped here on the way to Vegas as a morning breakfast and coffee option. Lots of shops and other food and retail shops inside adjacent as well. Ok, McDonald's is what it is. You know what to expect. We ordered two egg mcmuffins (one with extra egg), 1 hash brown and two med coffees. Came out to $15.29. Did McDonald's raise their prices? Maybe this location has higher prices for the volume of people stopping in? Either case seemed more pricey than I remember. Food was good. It's standard McDonald's, you get what you get. The thing I was disappointed with the most (and the main reason I'm giving them 2 stars) was there coffee urn dispenser. At this location, (because of the volume of guests) they have a coffee urn where guests fill there cups. The coffee urn is in in shambles, wrapped in black duct tape. Really poor image for such a high volume store. More over, they only have one? Several customers had to wait for coffee to be brewed. Also coffee quality not great because guests were filling cups before end of brew cycle, leaving weak coffee for the rest. Pretty bad considering coffee is a big part of their business. read more

Nice place to get some food. They got almost everything you need in this train station. It's pretty cool how they took old trains and turn them into dinning rooms for mcdonalds. With the amount of people going in and out of this place im surprise how clean it is. Just one thing i didn't like was, PARKING WAS HARD. This location was not busy when we walked in about 11:15. It took quite a while to get our food and then, the fries were nearly cold. We noticed others waited a long time to get their orders if they got them at all before going to the counter to check on it. The cashier was also the same person delivering food to the tables. While we were there the line got long several times. That poor cashier did all she could do to keep up with both cashiering and delivering food. No wonder the food temperature was subpar. read more

(Review just for the location) Stopped by here on my way to Vega$ to change drivers with my husband because he was getting sleepy and wanted to take a nap. Anyways, since I was here, I figured I might as well use the restroom. The ladies' restroom was clean and stocked with toilet paper. There are a handful of stalls so I didn't have to wait (came in here on a Sunday late morning sometime after 11 am). After I was done using the restroom, I just kind of walked around because I was interested in seeing how the layout of this place was since it does look like a train station. Which I forgot to mention that my first impression of this place was basically "cool" since you will notice immediately the old school cabooses. And since this McD's is at the Barstow Station, it just makes sense to have it look like such. Anyways, the parking lot is a bit cramped and odd. Although we were lucky to get a parking lot upon entering the lot the 1st time, I can see how others would have some trouble getting a spot. I actually like this famous Barstow Station because it has a variety of different things going e.g. gift shop, clean bathrooms and different fast food for everyone's palate. What I didn't like is that lunch items eg fries are not served until after 11AM, unlike other McDonald's. Yes, there is no wrong time for fries, even at 9:30AM. The lady behind the counter wasn't very nice about breaking THAT news to me. Asked for sweet and sour sauce another time and was told if I wanted one it was 25 cents. Wow. Oy vey. Food itself the few times I've been here were fine. No issues with hair or burnt stuff like others have encountered here so I consider myself lucky. read more
