I've not been to the actual McDevitt Taco Supply but only the shack at Sanitas, and every time I order I am very pleased. My first two times I ordered the sweet potato kale taco, which is savory and filling. Whatever salsa they put on that taco is refreshing and cuts through the warm potato well. I've tried the veggie quesadilla with cactus, which always has the perfect proportions of cheese, cactus and veggies, and the tortilla is both crisp and soft. I've also ordered the nachos with cactus-- the cactus tastes fermented, I'm not sure, but is sour and adds zing to the savory queso, salty chips, and (very mildly spicy) green salsa. read more

I'd be careful about specifics during Happy Hour. I was not informed of "specific" beers (just 1) as the Happy Hour option. So I ordered on tap and as an uninformed patron purchased the Odell's IPA. I was told three choices from the server. I expected all three to be at HH price. I was informed otherwise after I got my electronic itemized check. When I went in to ask about the upcharge, I was then informed only their Mexican water beer is the Happy Hour price. So be informed that not all drinks, told to you by the server is priced accurately. I had the pork belly, braised beef, and honey lime shrimp tacos, and I would rank them in that order but all were tasty. My wife can't eat onions and had a tough time ordering because they couldn't remove onions from a number of the dishes she tried to order. The reason I know about McDevitt is actually because of the food cart on Pearl Street. Let's be honest when I need a healthy lunch I do prefer the Boulder Bowls that situated itself close by, BUT when I need something salty, delicious, and FILLING. These tacos are my go-to. The biggest surprise and first turn off was Kale in a taco...KALE. But let me tell you, perfection. Never did I think I would enjoy it, but never judge before you try. The kale is in multiple tacos and all have become my favorites. They ate nice/hefty tacos that carry a ton of flavor. I usually get 2/3 depending on how I feel. The store however is a different story. The store was nice, pretty small, but a great concept to have a physical store as well as a to-go situation (probably helped with COVID-19). The store served more than the to-go cart, BUT the meat in all of my tacos from the store were either over-seared or it literally taste 100% like salt and no meat flavor. Maybe it was a bad day, will try and come again. Also take advantage of the $1 off from yelp for Chips and Salsa, refreshing and delicious. I also ordered the queso, mine was a bit watery and I didn't enjoy it. I usually enjoy any queso, but this one even I left on the table. Overall love these TACOS. Tacos are delicious! I had three of their tacos, the queso and topped it off with a marg. Perfect dinner. The tacos were all on special for happy hour at 3$ each: chicken; el pastor; and Kale yea. In respective order of their goodness, they each had their own good flavor. But, the chicken stood supreme in its goodness. I could easily down 5 of them. They were all topped with a cilantro (I think) green salsa/sauce and served with a few bottles of different house hot sauces. The citrus habenero and this other red one were soo good. I'm becoming upset as I write this because I know I'm not going to get eating them tonight. Also, you should pour the queso on the tacos to take them to the next level. The venue is small and cozy. With a fun looking bar, poster of Michael McDonnell and really good music in the background playing it seems like it would be a great place to get a little drunk too. Great taco place, granted I only tried their Al Pastor but it was delicious. I am no stranger to Al Pastor, I have tried a plethora of Al Pastor tacos and let me tell you these are it. It's easy to buy greasy dried Al Pastor but this was anything but inadequate. The meat itself was juicy and flavorful, whatever marinate came with it coated the meat beautifully. It had all the right elements of a taco: cilantro, onions, and avocado salsa. The salsa itself is not very spicy but it still has a slight kick. I paired the taco with their house made chipotle salsa and oh my god it was amazing. Spicy and the chipotle wasn't at all overbearing. They fill these tacos so much that I practically had four tacos with the leftover meat than the initial two I ordered. Only complaint I had was the agua de jamaica was awful, I am used to sweet Jamaica tea, so when I took a sip of this I wanted to spit it out. It was just...bitter. Try their Al Pastor tacos you won't regret it I hope. Service was fast I got my food in 10 min. Overpriced but it's practically gourmet. read more

Hubs had chimichuri beef & sweet potato tacos, while I had honey shrimp & Baja cauliflower. Shrimp was a bit salty after having chips & guac, which was more flavor than salt. I tried a few different kinds with my favorite being the pork belly taco. Prepared perfectly and added in the pineapple hot sauce and it was a perfect combination. The McDevits taco stand at Sanitas Brewery is one of my favorite stops after a bike ride. Super friendly staff and great vibes.

I recently ordered full-service catering for a small backyard gathering, and not only was the food great but the setup was incredibly meticulous and safe. We would normally order takeout buffet-style catering for such a gathering, but we didn't want people handling the food and spreading germs, so we got catering with a server. The catering manager came and set everything up at appropriate distances apart, and guests could walk up and order from a table 8 feet in front of where he was standing. Then he would assemble their food and set it on another table to pick up. Of course he wore a mask and gloves the whole time, and he even brought sanitizer, washing station and bins for the compostable dishes and utensils, so we didn't even have to deal with trash! Overall it was the cleanest catering experience I ever saw. On top of that, the food was DELICIOUS! We got a taco bar with 2 meat and 1 veggie option, and one friend remarked that she never had such good vegetarian tacos, even better than meat. But the meat was great too, and the sides and salsas. We had lots of leftovers that we ate for days after but never got sick of it! All in all, I highly recommend this place! read more

We've gone several times because it's walking distance to our apartment. The first time was pretty good but every time after got worse and worse. There's something seriously wrong with their guacamole. Perhaps they are using frozen a mashed avocados. Their salsas are flavorless and the tacos are very hit or miss. Was excited about all the great reviews but to be honest these tacos were a bit lackluster for us. We sat outside since this was during COVID times and they did not have any tables going inside. The service and staff were GREAT! The queso with chorizo was excellent as well. However, the tacos were just not knock your socks off good. Being up in Boulder on the Friday before a game, let alone a Homecoming Friday, proved an unsuccessful endeavor to get into one of the nearby Pearl Street taco restaurants after the Stampede. But then there was McDevitt's, not too far away. I had heard good things about their tacos, and while typing this review, remembered having some at Sanitas a few years back but couldn't remember much about that. They were on my list of places to try after they opened their physical restaurant location off Baseline. As it turns out it was the perfect later-dinner taco spot. We arrived at 8 and seats were mostly full inside and out. The Locals know where it's at. Ordered chips and guacamole and the cauliflower "wings" with the Knoxville rub for the table. And both were awesome. The Knoxville rub is supposedly the least hot of the three options of cauliflower and honestly, it was a perfect level of heat and just a smidge of sweet and cooked perfectly. The guac was good and flavorful. But the bang up job in flavor was all the tacos! So great! The whole table enjoyed theirs. As for me I had the chicken with Hatch chiles taco and the Cactus, with grilled prickly pear. The chicken was so good and tasty and holy smokes, the Cactus taco blew my mind. So full of bright, smoky flavor. Most at our table had 2-3 tacos. The fillings are plentiful and well, filling. Most at the table also had the hibiscus iced tea. It is beautiful, tart and delicious. I tried the Paloma, which was light and refreshing, not too sweet at all and was perfectly paired for the tacos I had. And finally, the service. Our server was friendly and thoughtful, knowledgeable about the menu and professional, and though we arrived later in the evening, we were not rushed at all. So glad McDevitt's is nearby, we will be back. Even the college student at our table who lives very close by said he'd be returning! read more

Bad tacos. The proteins were all bad. The pork belly had a strange taste and was definitely not crispy as described on the menu. I also got some pieces of the actual pig skin that were flabby and highly unappetizing. What wasn't flabby skin didn't taste like pork or pork belly. The beer braised beef tasted bad, I had to spit it out. It was like boiled meat. The honey chili shrimp were poor quality shrimp like the small frozen ones you get in a bag. There was no honey flavor at all and it was overly seasoned with raw spices not cooked down. The al pastor flavor was the better one, but one of the worst al pastor I've had from San Diego to Miami, FL. Let's put it this way, we took a bite of each and threw them away. If you live in an area known for tacos, do not expect to like these. We should've know better for a place called McDevitt... Irish tacos, never again. read more

Thankful for a friend's recommendation, as this is a really good restaurant environment, a good vibe and really tasty food. Lot of parking available in mall, plenty of seating inside and out.
