I just spent a month in Boulder and discovered this little slice of taco heaven while I was there. Between 2 of us on multiple visits, we tried all of the taco varieties and most of the appetizers. You really can't go wrong with anything here. Fantastic salsas and sauces too. When I win the lotto, which I'm convinced will happen as soon as I start playing, I'm going to hire their mobile catering kitchen and ask them to please park it on my property indefinitely. I will be parked nearby in a hammock, covered in taco remnants with a smile on my face. Life will be glorious. Amazing! I placed a catering order with Bradford and from beginning until end it was seamless. Communication with Bradford was responsive and helpful. Jon and Luke from McDevitt Taco Supply catered our wedding party for 50 people on Dec. 20th and did a fantastic job! They were enthusiastic and professional, and the food was consistently delicious. We had the tilapia, pepper steak, and green chili tacos, and the nacho bar with queso, which was TO DIE FOR. People raved about the jalapeno mashed potatoes too. Not only is their food fresh and delicious, I thought the pricing was very reasonable, and they went above-and-beyond with customer service. We worked closely with Jon leading up to our wedding, and had a couple different tastings with him (there are so many good options on their catering menu, we had a hard time narrowing it down). I was very satisfied with the communication from Jon, the tastings themselves were fantastic, and on the day of everything went smoothly! Our guests loved the food, and Jon even made special plates for a couple of our vegan guests, which they raved about. On Saturday, E and I did an 8am HIIT workout, grocery shopped, packed our camping stuff, and started the drive to Estes Park. When we rolled into Boulder at 3pm and realized we hadn't even eaten a meal the entire day, we knew a pit stop was needed. E found McDevitt's and off we went! It was a gorgeous afternoon, so we got the pups out of the car and opted to eat on the patio, which was perfect! E even ordered a margarita because #weekend. Then our famished brains kicked in and we went on an ordering spree. Chips and salsa, Mexican street corn, and five tacos: Al Pastor, Green Chile-Chicken, Roasted Pork, The Cactus, and Honey-Chile Shrimp were all ordered with growling stomachs and eager appetites. Chips and salsa and the street corn arrived first. The salsa was absolutely kick-ass - a bright green tomatillo with juuuust enough spice. It's the best tomatillo salsa I've had since the last time I was in Mexico, and I seriously wanted to drink the whole thing. The chips were great and seemed to be freshly made. The street corn was awesome as well - $4 gets you two grilled half-ears coated in cotija cheese, spicy mayonesa, and cilantro. We loved it. On to the tacos! E and I ate right down the line, splitting each one in turn. We started with The Cactus, which had a lovely avocado crema and grilled corn on top. It was tasty! The cactus was tender and acidic, and the flavors worked super well together. Next was the Honey-Chile Shrimp, filled to the brim with tiny, juicy shrimp in an amazing spicy-sweet sauce. Our third taco was supposed to be roasted pork, but we ended up getting the ChocoPolte beef by accident! We shrugged it off and thoroughly enjoyed this one - it tasted like dinner and dessert all in one, and although a bit dry, our remaining tomatillo salsa helped with that and really made this taco phenomenal. The Green Chilies and Chicken had some great flavor, and I loved that they used chicken thighs, which made the end result much more moist and flavorful than if they'd used white meat. Last but not least, the AL Pastor really hit it out of the park. The meat was very tender and the generous helping of pineapple on top lent a great freshness. E and I also kept getting hits of what tasted like vanilla in this taco, which we LOVED. Not sure if this is from the pineapple or if we were just imagining it, but we thought it was fantastic. Although I like to see more spice in a typical Al Pastor, I did really like the flavors of this one. E's marg was pretty fantastic as well, made nice and simple just the way we like it - tequila, lime juice, orange juice. That's all you need! Overall, we really liked this place and will be back when we're in Boulder again! read more

I had the pleasure of working next door to McDevitt's taco truck for the past two years. Not only was the service ALWAYS great (shout-out to Taco Jon!), the tacos and quesadillas were on point EVERY. TIME. As a vegetarian, sometimes taco options available can be kind of bland. But not at McDevitt. I will miss having the sweet potato and black bean tacos as my last-minute go-to lunch option. That thing is out of this world. McDevitt (and Jon, specifically) will always hold a special place in my heart - the food is incredible, and the people are wonderful. This restaurant is probably one of my favorites in Boulder. The ingredients are fresh and the food incorporates flavors from a variety of cultures. My favorites are the braised beef and chimichurri tacos. The braised beef has pickled cabbage which is sour and sweet, and the beef is so tender and savory. Probably one of my favorite combinations because there are so many levels of texture and flavor. They definitely thought through all of the flavors you'd experience while sinking your teeth into these scrumptious tacos. Loveeeeee this place! I've had their tacos on pearl street many times. When I found out they were opening a more permanent location I was so siked! Funny story. Me & my boyfriend woke up from a crappy hangover and I knew they were opening up a location right down the street from us. Left in actual tears at the way the bartender treated me. Such a shame I used to like these guys. But after a long day at work, I stopped off for an unexpected taco after an appointment didn't show. I was sneaking in a prepared meal before going home to the 3 kiddos. WHAT A MISTAKE. I sat in the corner of the bar (which was filled with men, so that's always a little uncomfortable to begin with). I was greeted with a grunt and a happy hour menu, and ordered off it with a glass of water. He said, it's 6:30 that's not available. I said fine, just give me same off regular menu please. It all went down hill from there. Apparently you don't just order water here, that is a no no. I remember my bar-tending days well. I ordered a seltzer, which went unfilled and unrecognized the rest of the very spicy meal. the kitchen delivered food promptly, and you self serve yourself silverware and napkins. I didn't hear from my bartender again. He did a shot of tequila with the two guys to my left, greeted the guy next to me with a hug and an order, talked kindly with the two guys on the opposite end....but nothing. Not a grunt, not an inquiry on the food, not a refill, not a to go container, not a plate clearing, and when I was just disgusted because it went from unprofessional to rude, I placed a $100 past my dirty plates toward the bar edge and there it sat. Now he was purposely ignoring me. Waited about 7 more minutes before he picked up cash without a word, sat not getting change forever, then dropped without a word, no clearing the garbage, no thanks for stopping in. no, screw you lady I only serve dude's here that buy me shots...... When I went to leave I say to the man he hugged whom I was guessing was an employee, "that was the worst service ever"...he responded "Dude, get a job". I said, "I have one. On my feet all day long".... I'm a 57 year old Mom of 3 boys, Dude. I'm a patron all over Boulder at all our wonderful restaurants. Maybe you need a new occupation.
