As always, our breakfasts were excellent! Those roasted potatoes could be a meal by themselves! Everything was hot and fresh. You order at the counter, and a server brings to your table. Their coffee is very good, rich, not bitter. They're always friendly and efficient. The decor is very fresh and, and the restaurant is always clean and well maintained. Don't forget the tip jar on the counter!! Breakfast and lunch, 7am-2pm.

We stopped in for a sweet treat today. We tried the strawberry cream cheese croissant, lemon blueberry tart and a chocolate chip cannoli. The staff were very friendly and happily assisted us in picking out what we wanted to try. The dining room is super cute and everything was nice and clean. We'll definitely be back. It's a great place to come and sit down with your friends or family and treat yourself.

Food: 2 Stars Service: 4 Stars A cool concept, housing a cafe, bakery, and ice cream parlor all under one roof. Their cakes are moist and decadent and no one can pull off their signature buttercream frosting. But what turned me off wasn't their sweet baked goods, but the menu items from their cafe. Portions are big, but flavors are bland and often overcooked. I couldn't taste any of the chives in their cheddar chive biscuit, and their potatoes were dry, charred, and flavorless. I wish their fried chicken had more seasoning in their batter. It was the most tasteless piece of fried chicken I've ever had. Their short rib hash, for the most part, was their saving grace. (as long as you removed the burnt potatoes). The folks behind the counter were polite, but they had forgotten my hot latte. Halfway through our meal, I asked them about it and they brought me an iced one. I really like McArthur's, and hope they're able to turn things around in their cafe. As it stands, it's a bust for me.

Unfortunately, I'll never go to McArthur's again. Having grown up in South County, I was so excited to learn that they delivered to St. Charles, where I live now, so I was thrilled to use them again for a bridal shower I was throwing. I ordered the cake months in advance, toward the end of July 2024, for an October party. The young person who took my intake seemed a little unsure about what she was doing, and that should have been my first tip off. I explained what I wanted (see first photo, handwritten notes - spooky / elegant / fall theme for bridal shower, shades of purprle, add flowers, "Congratulations Dani"). The order person and I discussed the theme and looked up some photos on Pinterest while I was there. I mentioned that the decorators could call me if needed for clarification, because I really wasn't confident in the order person's abilities. I then called a few days prior to delivery to confirm the details and to make it clear, again, that this was for a bridal shower. The cake was delivered on time by a very nice gentleman. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and saw a literal HAUNTED HOUSE. This is a Halloween cake, not even close to a bridal shower cake. It looks nice, but again, absolutely NOT APPROPRIATE for a bridal shower. As you can see on the second photo (delivery invoice), it was never noted anywhere that there should be flowers, and "fall theme" was also omitted. Even still, I'm at a loss how we got a haunted house from "spooky, elegant, purple" bridal shower theme. I called and spoke with a nice woman who advised that she or the manager would call me back. Holly the manager called me back, but was clearly already upset. She kept interrupting me, and told me that if I could bring the cake in in the next 35-40 minutes, they could "add some flowers". Well, again, I live in St. Charles and it was going to be unlikely that I would make that time frame. Then Holly explained to me how this was my fault, because I didn't provide any pictures, the invitation, or guidance. I told her that the girl I placed the order with never suggested that I bring in an invitation, and that she didn't really seem to think that this was going to be a problem. It just totally shocked me how Holly seemed to want to pass the buck. Like, of course I didn't know what to put on the cake. I'm not a cake decorator. That's why I paid over $100 to go to the professionals. By this point, my mild amusement had shifted to anger, just based on Holly's "not our fault" reaction. I told her that bringing the cake it at this point wasn't going to be good enough, and that I wanted a replacement. She put me on hold, and then came back a few minutes later and said that they couldn't get me a new cake, but they'd refund my purchase. Well, okay, but I still don't have an appropriate cake. When I asked again about bringing the cake in to have flowers added like she had said, Holly advised that this was no longer on the table. I told her that I was going to come bring the cake in because that's what she told me I could do, and then she said I was threatening her, hung up on me, and then the store refused to answer the phone when I called back. I then called the Kirkwood store and spoke with Bree, who was much more pleasant. She said she'd do some investigating and someone would call me back. Holly then called me back again, and was less rude but still interrupted me frequently. She confirmed that I'd still be getting a refund, and said I could bring the cake back in and "the general manager who is not a decorator" could add some pre-made flowers to it in the morning, but then I'd have to drive back in to get it before the shower. At this point, I don't know if the time and the gas would be worth this half-measure. McArthur's used to be where everyone in South County got their cakes. I don't know what's happened to them but I'm so unbelieveably disappointed in both their product and their service. I can't wait to see the bride's face tomorrow when she gazes at her beautiful HAUNTED HOUSE cake.

A wonderful local boutique bakery. It has ice cream, donuts, a small cafe and cakes. And oh, the cakes! What a selection! They even had a slice of amaretto cake with raspberry filling that I could take home! The counter staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. She saw me looking at the cake and asked me what my favorite was. I told her, and she said that she thought there was some in the freezer. She disappeared and a short time latter had two slices of amaretto cake with raspberry filling! She was also helpful to me in finding the particular sweetener in their ice creams. Located in a strip mall, it is clean and accessible.

Went here for a sweet treat while running errands and was honestly underwhelmed. There wasn't a huge selection of desserts to pick from and it was dead. I got this cake and it just didn't do it for me. For the price of the cake, I expected better. I only ate a few bites and threw it away.

Veggie omelet, potatoes and wheat toast. Sorry for the half eaten plate lol

I ordered breakfast from here for the first time this morning and it was so delicious. I had a veggie omelet, potatoes and wheat berry toast. The potatoes were my favorite!

The place is clean updated and open. Donut and pastry selection not as big as I had hoped. A good macaroon selection. A nice shake and ice cream bar. Coffee is just coffee or latte. They have cakes ready to go that is nice. There is an all day brunch menu and kids menu pricing mostly à la cart style.

I came here to have a coffee and use their wifi to work on my license credits. It's so cute inside and the staff were inviting. They do have wifi you can use, which is always nice. The lady recommended a custard puff since they were done serving food at 2 pm. I have a sweet tooth, so I was happy with her suggestion. The coffee was delicious, but i wish it was a bigger amount. I enjoyed the custard puff. However, I will order something else next time. It was served cold. The custard inside is perfect, but the outer shell tasted off, like the dough was tough. The hard chocolate shell was good.

Pretty good overall. Cheesecake - not my favorite. Tasted good and the texture was perfect but not cream cheese-y enough for my liking. The chocolate version might be better.
