Lunch yesterday with 4 friends - restaurant was empty at 11:45 and stayed that way during our visit. Front counter staff were not friendly and seemed more interested in us leaving a tip when we paid. I had the chicken caesar wrap - was terrible - shredded and dry chicken - wrap was falling apart on the plate - so much paprika on the potato salad that I thought they were covering something - Another person got the ham and cheese melt - this took the longest of any item - maybe becaust it was hot and they needed to heat the grill ! Ordered but avocado--asked for xtra tomato as they never put on much--the counter person was far more interested in how much i wanted to tip---as I was STANDING and placing my own order!! Not the best McAlister's Deli. Got a Chipotle Chicken and Bacon Spud. No bacon was present, 4 green onions and two small pieces of chicken. There was cup of chipotle sauce which was terrible.. The service was cold, like they really didn't want to be there.. The place at peak lunch time was empty, guess that should have been a clue. When I was released after a 3 day hospital stay, I really wanted to good baked potato for lunch. I am disabled and was not feeling up to going inside McAlister's, so I tried to order 2 Spud Max plates from my car. The lady who answered my call said she couldn't run my card over the phone. She said I'll come to your car in just a minute, but she never came. Customers coming after us were walking in and getting their food--and coming back out while we waited in our car. We decided we had to go in to ask about our order. The manager first said there was an order in our name, but then said he couldn't find it. He said he'd take our order, but then he started cleaning up and carrying trays to the back. One hour later, we still were waiting for someone to take our order and let us pay them. The cashier was taking everyone who came in after us, and the manager still ignored us--until we turned to leave. Too late. Very disappointed in the dismissive attitude of the manager and the absolutely poor service of what I had thought was a good lunch restaurant. I just wanted to order a couple of Spuds and go home to enjoy them. But we wasted our time and effort trying to order here. Even when we went in to be served, the staff chose to wait on everyone else--but not us. Very rude and discriminatory behavior from a manager and cashier. Food is great when it's made properly, but a heads up if they're out of certain ingredients, they won't tell you. They'll just make your sandwhich with what they have. I was in town for a tournament and stopped by to order a veggie sandwich with a pickle on the side to go. I get my food to get in the road and went to take a bite, thank goodness I looked before I bit them sandwich, it was a turkey sandwich! I called back and they immediately went to correct it. Here's why go to 'this' location. I'm not necessarily a fan of this franchise but this location is an exception. Why? location, location, location. It's a great meet up spot, right off I-77 and David Lyle Blvd. So many easy landmarks to locate nearby. They have a great selection of health salad & soup options. It's easy in and out ordering, you pay & they bring the food to your table. They have a patio, a big patio, so big it wraps around the building. You can sit outside, it's quiet, you can have a conversation, enjoy the weather and relax. When you park, you can use the sidewalk to the left as you enter and access the patio without going through the main part of the building. A great location for lunch with plenty of free parking, friendly and helpful staff and reasonable prices. read more

Usually really good, for the most part this is as usual with the exception of the bread for my king club sandwich, little burnt! I am not a bread connoisseur, but this looks a little burnt (see photo). Good meat, great sandwich (usually), but very let down they would even service this. It was a carry out order, if I was eating in, definitely would send back for a do over. Wife got the soup and spud combo, soup good (broccoli cheddar) and spud ok except it had a bit of fat in the roast beef, so most ended up in trash. i like McAlester's a lot we were going to Charlotte for a concert and needed to get something to eat quickly. I always get the French dip it's fantastic. My wife get some soup in a bread bowl that she loves. When we got there there was a lot of dirty tables the hadn't been cleaned up yet. However while we were eating they did clean the tables up. My wife went to the restroom and came back out and told me the restroom was filthy and she would wait till we get to the concert. Thats why i rated it 4 stars. The food was great read more

I did an online order via McAlister's website for the convenience of just going inside to pick up my food and head home after work. This location used to be decent, however it's gone downhill quick; from the cleanliness of the restaurant to SOME of the rude staff I come across. There has been many times where I had to bite my tongue. So EVERYTIME I process a pick up order, I have to check my food before leaving. They never put the pickle(s) l've requested in the bag. They also forgot to put a side of Mac in Cheese from the kids menu one evening. And yesterday evening, they didn't put the tortilla chips that comes with the Chicken Tortilla soup in the bag. So l've already checked the bag to make sure I received everything. I proceeded to make another order, while receiving the order, I noticed that there wasn't any chips in the bag. But the girl behind the counter states she put them in the box. I told her that I've checked already and it wasn't. But she wanted to argue with me and said it was, but I opened the box up to check again, and showed her. She shook her head and rolled her eyes and started mumbling some comments under her breath to one of her other employees, which that employee was wonderful and fixed the mistake. This rude little girl needs to re-learn her people skills esp. in the place of business. This girl wasn't doing anything but just standing around talking while others were seemingly being productive. One incident while we were dining in, two employees in the kitchen were playing around and arguing about who was going to fix the toilet in the restroom that was overflowing. They were pretty loud and just not what you want to hear while eating dinner. The owner of this establishment needs to do a clean sweep and rehire and keep the staff that are dedicated to work in their establishment. read more

One word can describe my experience at McAlister's Deli... adequate. The French Dip is adequate; the sweet tea would be good in New York. My sandwich was good; nothing earth shattering. The cookies are hard, but the brookie was soft and richly sweet. The rockstar on my tray was the Mac-n-cheese. I could have eaten that alone and been content. I give the food 3 stars. Ordinarily I only take the time to write good reviews. However, I am so displeased with all parties involved that I decided to post a review. Plain and simple, I paid for a Potato that is the specialty of McAllisters and used their third party delivery service, Door Dash. I received the wrong potaoto, a steak potato that was cold and inedible and not what I had ordered in the first place. The net charge of this potato was roughly $16 "all-in" when you add fees and tip. I tried contacting Door Dash several times to no avail. I had even text the DD Dasher moments after she dropped off the food. Anyway, in reviewing the receipt stapled to the bag it clearly stated Veggie Spud. This is not what was delivered. I contacted McAlisters, escalated up to the Store Manager, Sophie who told me she was the last stop for complaints. I explained in detail and was told that she could do nothing for me. But she would let her GM, Mollie know and would call me on Wednesday. All this time over the wrong order. In the end I am writing this Novel as a request that my fellow consumers not use Door Dash nor McAllisters in Rock Hill. We consumers have little recourse these days. It is unacceptible that my Potato Remediation must go through several levels of Automated Process and actual Human Escalation. There is limited recourse for me other than I have deleted my Door Dash app(this was not an isolated incident) and I WILL never purchase from any McAllisters ever again. They must provide Professional Development and implement common sense logic within their Managerial ranks. Sorry Sophie, but your remediation response was unacceptable to me. I hope those who take the time to read this understand where I am coming from and will consider my request. I am an old man. I've been back to this McAllister's several times now since moving back to Rock Hill. Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be. Each time I've been back, I've been amazed at how little the staff seems to care about the cleanliness of the dining area and bathrooms. I don't know if this is because the store seems to be run by teenagers, which is no excuse. During this visit, we were able to order right away. There were 4 teenagers working the counter and from what I could see, 2 young men working in the kitchen. The young man that took our order was very pleasant. Once we ordered, one of the young ladies yells in our direction that they're out of beef. We weren't sure if she was talking to us. She then tells the young man that took our order that French Dip is beef with a bit of an attitude. Apparently, he wasn't aware that they were out of French Dip and unfortunately that was what my son had ordered. My son said he was fine with a turkey sandwich. I realized that the French Dip was an extra $1 so after mentioning it to the young man, he said he would give us a cookie to make up the difference. We received our drinks and looked for a table. We couldn't find a clean one. Every table either still had trash from the previous customers or was never wiped off. It seemed longer than usual to receive our food but we really were in no hurry. The young lady that delivered our food seemed like she really didn't want to be there. It also seemed as if they ran out of napkins, since they were using napkins from the local store not the typical McAllister napkins. No big deal. At least they had napkins. Upon finishing our meals, we remembered we didn't receive the cookie we were supposed to receive to make up for the difference that we paid for the French Dip they were out of and the turkey we received. As I approached the counter to ask about the cookie, there was no one around. All of the counter staff appeared to be off to the left of the counter socializing. I stood at the counter for awhile before a young lady came out. This was the same young lady with the attitude about the beef. She didn't acknowledge me as she came out. She walked right up to the register in front of me and began punching something into the register screen. She then looked at me and asked snidely, "Do you need something?" I was completely shocked! I said, "That's why I'm standing here." I have children older and younger than this young lady and they certainly know better than to speak to anyone with that tone. It will be awhile before I visit this McAllister's location again. My hope is that they make some changes and and do some major cleaning. read more

Sunday 11 am, I see 4 front of house employees and at least 2 in the back. Way more staff than normal. Ordered 1 sandwich and asked for extra pickles. Was told sure no problem. Wait 10 minutes for one sandwich. Get home. No pickles. Not extra, not even the one that it comes with. Doesn't seem like a big deal but the pickles were my 4 year old son's special treat. He was super excited and like a dummy I didn't check before we left. I really enjoy disappointing him so thank you. When I called to complain I was told that the manager was too busy as they are understaffed. I have been to this location when there were only 2 employees and they got it right and took less time. Being understaffed is not an excuse to fall back on everything you screw something up. It's become an excuse for incompetent workers. I normally appreciate dining at McAlister's Deli, but last nights experience at this restaurants was an exception. I ordered soup in a bread bowl and when the staff member brought it to me I was I formed that they were out of bread bowls. Unapologetically, she gave me the bowl of soup and told me I could have bread to dip in the soup. I was taken back as to why I wasn't told before serving up the soup that they were out of bowls but moved forward to request a baguette. The staff member left the table, again unapologetically, and returned to the front. I was two-thirds though the soup when I finally had to go to counter and request the baguette. During that time the same staff member had waited on two other patrons and delivered food to another table. The baguette finally arrived and was a sub loaf that was almost comical at that point. Again, the staff member was unapologetic about the reason for the baguette or the delay. I did not address these issues last night because I was with my daughter Christmas shopping and did not want to ruin our evening. She knew I was irritate and I could sense her concern and hated to steal her joy. I will say that her sandwich was great and without complaints. I will also say that the young lady who took our order was extremely nice and thoughtful. There were two staff members on the counter and and a third person, who I assumed was the manager. I will not be returning to this restaurant. I must also say I was never offered a refund on my bread bowl, which was but a $1. Stopped here hoping to get something better than fast food. This place has an air of miss management and slow traffic. Staff aren't sharp. Ordered an $8 BLT with avocado and got what amounted to a lettuce sandwich. Sent it back and got something resembling a BLTA but couldn't find the tomato. Side was a tiny scoop of slaw. No fork to eat it. Had to go hunting for one. Two of use had sandwiches, I had water and the total was $22. Service was was as miserly as the food. Manager wasn't that interested either. Our visit to this McAlister's Deli was a delight from beginning to end. Jayden took our order. He was friendly, efficient and helpful in answering the questions we had about the menu. I decided on the California Turkey Reuben and my son ordered the McAlister's Club on a baguette. Both sandwiches were made with quality, fresh ingredients and did not disappoint. It was a nice enough day for us to sit at an outside table and when our food was ready, the server had no problem finding us to deliver the order. Inside, the restaurant was spacious, bright and clean. We both ordered ice water with our meals and appreciated them being large in size (doesn't seem to happen very often even when asked for).
