Very clean restaurant and friendly staff. We were looking for something light to eat for lunch and this was perfect. We got the grilled chicken salad and the southwest avocado salad.

Southwest salad (no chicken per request) potato soup and a small portion of Mac n cheese.

Best part about this place was the ice tea and salad dressing for the southwest salad. My Mac n cheese was good but only half full. I asked her to please fill it being I paid for it and her reply was "that's how they do it" to which I replied "who are they?" .... the kitchen people. The potato soup was bland. 1 of the 2 stalls in the bathroom had no toilet paper. It was disappointing.

Ok. Is this all the meat you get on a sandwich? This is the worst McAlisters I have eaten at. And I have eaten at several.

STOP watering down your broccoli cheese soup!!!! IF you don't have enough just remove it or substitute.

Teas may be great however your prices are over the top on most items...this is a sandwich shop after all.

And I thought I made good steak at home....go to Costco grab a USDA Prime Rib Eye...cast iron pan…read moregrill it...and remember the Bearnaise Sauce... Aside from the Seafood Fondeaux being a little on the saltier side...Saltgrass Steakhouse is probably the #1 Steakhouse here in Amarillo Texas (just my opinion)...if I had to leave one two word adjective to describe my entire experience today at this Steak House...."Michelin Worthy." Obviously not at Joel Robuchon level, but they sure execute everything like Brick & Mortar Steakhouse would be expected on Rodeo Drive. Perfect Medium Rare, Great baked sweet potatoes with that foam melt butter, garlic butter and grilled shrimp were cherries on top of the pie as a Steak Add-on, phenomenal balsamic vinegarette fused Blue Cheese crumbs Wedge Salad, and the Seafood Fondeaux was as if you married lobster bisque with creme spinach and queso, a superb starter. Premium Service by Isabel, top notch multitasker handling the bar, and multiple fronts. A well put together Southern Cowboy country Interior with very fitting country music. First time at Saltgrass, and what are my last thoughts? Definitely on my recommend list to anyone looking for a casual weekday steak lunch or dinner. Worth the spend! Edit: ***oh...pshhh no wonder, this steakhouse is sister restaurants with Mastros and Morton's~~ It's like the Swatch Group, if Mastros was Breguet, then Morton's would be Omega, and Saltgrass...Longines.

Wysdom on the other hand took over later in the shift and was only there to ask us if our ticket had been closed out which it had not. Lacy had come back around to ask if we wanted anything else before she left and to tell us that Wysdom would be with us shortly. That was when Wysdom asked us if our check was closed and wasn't even the one to bring the drinks. She had spent majority of the night at one table and did not check in with us. I hate leaving negative reviews because some days it's just that they are having a bad day but she did not even try with us and leisured at that table she was at right next to us. She didn't even come to check with us about last call, and didn't cash us out until after closing. We went a full hour zero service from her

She said she could only print it, but our server would have to charge our card. Finally our server came and apologized saying that they let another server go home then she was overloaded with tables and couldn't get help. Then a manager dropped by and said she'd take $10 off our bill and apologized. That was a nice gesture.

Great afternoon stop! On our way back to Tulsa from Tucson and I wanted to try something different…read moreand Amarillo was our target to stop. Nestled amongst the chain restaurants right along I-40 was this gem. It has been there for a number of years and the moment you walk in you get an old west tavern feel. We opted to sit in the bar area after the booths were a bit cramped for my circular shape as this place was built in an era where the tables don't slide! The bar area was open and comfortable. I ordered a happy hour beer and my wife got a margarita. We opted out of any appetizers but I was very tempted to order the house chips. I ordered the hand battered chicken fried steak with cheesy grits and a salad. My wife had the smoked ribeye with roasted corn and a salad. Both were from the lunch menu so the portions were appropriate for the time of day. Our salads were nicely sized, fresh and a perfect companion to the main course. We were served rolls with the salads. By the way my wife cleaned them up I presume they were pretty good! The CFS was tender, well-seasoned and covered in a nicely flavored gravy. It included two slices of buttered white toast as well. Very Texas! The cheesy grits were a nice side as there was just the right amount of cheese to grits ratio. My wife's smoked ribeye looked good but she said it lacked a bit on flavor. She split the roasted corn with me and it was just about perfect. The service was attentive but not intrusive and overall I really liked the vibe. It was lively but not Texas Roadhouse lively. You could have a discussion without yelling. Music level was reasonable. Of course, it might be different packed with patrons on a Friday night. I give this place a strong 7 out of 10. If I'm ever back in Amarillo I'll definitely come back and try a dinner steak and other options. Plus the bar would be a perfect afternoon hang to drink a beer and watch a game on one of their several large TV's.

He got the coffee rubbed steak which surprisingly did not taste like coffee. As a coffee hater I thought it was pretty good. The twisted potato chips to me was the best thing yeah carbs I know lol . Restaurants really need to get with the times and have something on the menu less carbs other than a just a boring salad . Salads can be awesome with toppings. Do that!! Would I personally come again I wouldn't! Hubs might . I will be looking for a better restaurant next time for sure. To me it suffers from the same thing the Big Texan does it's touristy . You got to back it up . You didn't. Service the waitress wasn't all there oh yeah there was a hair in our cheesecake. I swear they just took the top off and gave it back . We made the best of it but NEVER AGAIN!!
