Very affordable, came here for mani&pedi, the total came out 36 bucks only, definitely cheaper than other nail salons but nonetheless the service. I believe all the nail services here come with paraffin wax, which usually costs extra. And the regular pedicure also include a leg scrub and massage, which adds extra brownie points. I will come again. The reason I gave four star is because I need to figure out who is the best technician here. Have to take one star down since I noticed my feet had a scratch. So.... I was going to write a not so good review in the beginning because my friend and I came together for a pedicure and while someone got started on her, I was just sitting getting soaked for a while (and I'm pretty patient) until the water got cold.. Like legit cold water started coming out. Then I asked someone if they could make the water hotter which they did right away except the water was even colder lol It turns out, the hot water on that chair I was sitting wasn't working (which I don't know why they sat me there in the first place if they knew it wasn't working) so then I was just sitting there for a little bit while they were discussing where to move me. So at that point I was getting a little upset, until they said they could move my friend and I to a separate area. Anyway, I'm content with everything now since they usually do a good job and they moved us to a "private room" where they have two chairs in a separate area so we can chat. read more

First let me state that I'm new to the area, and this was my first time visiting MC Nails because it's close by my apartment. I went in because I have grad school orientation tomorrow and I want my nails to look nice. They were pretty busy but they managed to take me as a walk-in. I was there for a gel color manicure, because my old gel manicure was starting to peel. They had a limited selection of Gel Colors in my opinion. I ended up choosing an OPI Gel polish called Do you have this color in Stockholm? which I thought was bright purple. The manicurist I sat down with was a man, unfortunately I didn't get his name. He took off my old polish and just started to rush the application. He really didn't show extra care and kind of just went through the motions of the applying the polish. My nails look purple black instead of bright purple like the bottle indicated, even though the tech only applied two coats. Either the bottle was mislabeled or the nail tech put the color on too thick. My nails are lighter at the top and get progressively darker quickly and it just kind of emphasizes how sloppy the paint near my cuticle was applied . There's paint on the side of my nail and under my nail. The lines aren't really even. It just stems down to the fact that the nail tech DID NOT CARE. I paid for my services and left a tip. I didn't complain at the salon because I didn't know what to complain about at the time. I came home and googled the color thinking maybe my expectations for the color were off. Nope, online the pictures show the color being a bright purple. This place is slightly cheaper than it's competitors and your manicure includes a paraffin wax treatment. Still for thirty dollars my nails shouldn't look like I painted them myself. The lines should be clean and the color should MATCH the bottle. read more

Brought in my mom after she arrived after a long flight; we both had mani/pedis and they were really fabulous. Not only did they do a great job and the basic mani/pedi came with parafin wax, but it was literally $34 plus tip. Really good deal for a great service. Tried this place out based on all the good reviews, and continue to be very happy with each return visit! The staff is nice, there's a decent selection of colors, and the service is top-notch. Don't come here if you're in a rush - They really take their time here and are attentive to detail. I've been getting an acrylic fill topped with OPI gel, and that usually takes about an hour. Oh, and the price!! A fill + gel color for just $27 - and my nails look great for 2-3 weeks after! (As someone who is very hard on my nails, this is really exciting) Only taking one star off because there is no lotion or cuticle service involved, but everything else is wonderful! read more

My wife swear by this place. So we decided to do a couples pedicure at MC. Even though the place was busy, they were able to accommodate us as walkin. Within minutes we were escorted to a private room for two. The room, equipments, and overall atmosphere were just dated. Definitely need an overhaul. Got a gel manicure on Sunday and by Tuesday my nails are already peeling/chipping. This is the fastest my nails have ever peeled with a gel manicure, very disappointing. The salon wasn't clean or appealing. I won't be back. read more

Had an Acrylic fill this weekend with Viet. Goes so fast he lost control of the drill once but overall did a very nice job with filling, shaping and filing. Really good with the polish, even and glossy. Got all the little nooks and crannies without me having to ask. read more

I didn't expect much and was thrilled with the paraffin wax but that was about it. During my pedicure I asked her to buff my nails since the nail polish from before was old and stained my nails. She said no because my nails were "just like that". I asked her to please try and she refused. I then, I kid you not, asked her for the nail buffer and proceeded to buff my own nails, as she sat and watched while rolling her eyes. This continued for two minutes.I was stunned. When I finished, I said "see?" She just faked a smile and continued. But it's cheap so can't complain too much. Will not go again. Ah, I LOVE MC Nails. The place is clean. A mani/pedi with paraffin is only $36, and when I come, the nail techs always take their time to do a great job. I love coming here. The color selection does not include Essie, which I miss, but I bring my own colors. Another plus is that the nail techs will help you decide on a color by patiently testing the colors you like. Went here a few weeks ago for a mani-pedi before my brother's wedding. It's one of the least expensive mani-pedis I've had in the area ($32) and totally worth it. The addition of the scrub and paraffin treatments on both hands and feet makes it more than just a basic service. The lady who did my nails was great -- not too chatty, but polite, and she didn't cause any cuticle bleeding. I'd definitely go back here again. read more

Had a positive experience. The salon was clean, people were very nice and the prices were good. I went to have my upper lip waxed and was treated well. However, and this has never happened anywhere before, the technician didn't wax close to my lip so I had a stubble just above my lip but the rest of the lip was smooth. Came in as a walk in on a Sunday afternoon and was taken right away. The pumice tool they used looked like they've been using it for many days with white reside all over it. I would rate them in the negatives! Mainly because the man that was working on my nieces nails was getting frustrated just because I was asking questions even tho this was my first time there. He also did not paint her nails well in the sides and they informed me they dont do designs the best they can do is a flower for her meaning they couldnt even do a heart on her thumb as a design the best the could do is flower which is just 5 dots! I then went next to get acrylic nails (coffin shaped) but one they are so uneven and I did want to paint my nails white but once i saw him finish the first coat I hated it because it showed all the mistakes hes making in painting my nails and drying as if the nail polish is old. I then told him I wanted to change it before he continues to something more clear because i felt hes unable to paint my nails properly. He got upset and told another lady to inform me I would have to pay to change the color in their language which I did tell them that's fine because my nails were looking HORRIBLE...but towards the end they ended up like a amature or beginner just did my nails!!!!! Me and my niece went as soon as they opened so him being rude impatient with my niece and I, when there wasnt people waiting is just so upsetting because this was my niece first time getting her nails done and was just hoping to be attened by someone who has more patience. Stopped by this shop at 6pm on a Wednesday night and was immediately seated in a chair. I thought the shop was clean, nicely laid out, and service was great. The gentleman took his time with my services and for $34 I think this place is. A great deal. My only negative was that outside of OPI there isn't a diverse collection of brands(Essie,Butter,etc) but this isn't a deal breaker because they have a large selection colors of OPI and whatever the other brand is. I usually go to another shop in Arlington that's more expensive and not as nice of an experience as this place. Being that's it's a short walk/drive for me I'll be back! read more

I went with a friend on Saturday during prime time so we had to wait about 10 minutes because the pedicure chairs were full. There are a lot of color choices and the prices are competitive for the NOVA area. I had a standard pedicure that came with paraffin wax. I have never had a regular nail salon to go to until I came across this one! The first time I got a pedicure, I was afraid to see how much it will cost, thinking I accidentally asked for a "spa" one. However, it was only $23 and included a scrub, lotion massage and paraffin wax! Never had a disappointing experience here with pedicures, gel manicures or regular manis. This is my go to salon. The prices are reasonable and a free paraffin wax is included with all manis and pedis. I usually walk in on a weekday evening without an appointment and am seated immediately. I get a gel manicure once or twice a month - it lasts perfectly for 2 weeks and then starts chipping on the third week, but I am extremely tough on my nails. I LOVE the UV lights that are built in to the nail stations so there's no awkwardness trying to use the portable lamp that many places use (this is one of the main things that keeps me coming back). I've also gotten standard pedis there and have been happy with the results. They have a great selection of gel and non-gel polish colors, many are even paired up so for people like me that want a matching gel manicure and non-gel pedicure, it's super simple. I've been a regular for almost two years but after my last visit I won't be returning. When they're good, they're great. But when they're bad, they're awful. I've had my natural nails filed so low they hurt days later, and had nails done so beautifully a woman stopped me on the street to ask where I'd gotten them done. You just never know how your nails will turn out here and frankly, I'm tired of the gamble. My last visit is what completely killed it for me. My tech picked up the wrong color from the pedicure chair and then proceeded to argue that it was the color I picked out when I knew it wasn't. I identified the correct color and she didn't even apologize for being wrong. Three hours after my pedicure I put shoes on and FOUR of my toes smudged. Drove all the way back to have them redone and again I wasn't even offered an apology for the inconvenience. The final straw was my gel polish coming up after only five days of wear. Ridiculous! My gel always lasts at least two and half weeks. For five days of wear I could have gotten a regular manicure. As much as I hate having to find a new salon, it's definitely time to move on. read more
