They came out quickly (within 1.5 hr), cleared out a broken patio door, all the glass shards, etc. Removed the door frame, brought it back to their shop, and was back in 3 hr installing it. my car window decided to fall last Friday night so I had to find a place close by to get it fixed. I Yelped and found this place. I came in at 11:00 a.m. and apparently they close at 12. The guy was accommodating and took a look at my car right away. In less than 5 mins, he explained and showed to me what happened and told me that I need to get my window replaced. Even though he said it'll take 30 mins to get it done, it was done in 15 mins. My 9 year old car decided it didn't want to roll the driver side window back up (a day before storms decided to roll through the Bay Area) and I wasn't ready to start growing mushrooms under my seat, so I decided to make a trip to Maz. I gave a call to the nice folks there on a Saturday (always a good idea since you never know what needs to be done) and they told me to roll on by. The owner was nice enough to tell me ahead of time that if I was a previous customer, that they had moved down the street less than a mile, and in which direction. How thoughtful! 9:30pm last night in SF, discovered my Honda CR-V rear quarter window was smashed. Didn't matter that it was parked in front of the Unitarian Universalist Church, btw. Called several glass shops around the area and near my work in SF. All quotes said it was the most expensive window to replace and estimated over $300 to fix. Called MAZ at 9am to check if they had my part; he found a deal for an after-market window and charged $225 no tax. Brought my car in and got my smashed window (and windshield!) replaced. I waited at Mama Buzz a short walk away, until it was ready to pick up, all shiny and new, at 12:30. Great service! FYI: trust the Google Maps on this one; the satellite pics are old. Note to self: don't park car behind outfield next time. After a softball mishap and upon recommendation of a coworker, I set out to Maz autoglass to replace my "home-runned" windshield. The next day, I had a replacement for ~15% less than the price other shops had quoted (it wasn't an OEM part, but I've been happy with it so far..). The owner and staff were helpful and seemed to be well intentioned--I'll be back if any other sports-related misfortunes befall my vehicle (e.g., golfball to the tail-light or bowling ball through the sunroof). Some a**hole threw a rock through my living room window. I had to be at work, so I started calling "window installation" companies I found on Yelp once I got to work. I figured at worst, I'd have to let the window stay broken until I could coordinate a time for them to do an estimate. Well, the window installation company said they couldn't do repairs and recommended Maz glass. I called at about noon. They said they could be there in an hour! My mom went over there to meet them and they showed up when they said they would. Within an hour or so, the window was fixed! This is a terrible shop, dishonest and won't back up their work. They replaced a broken windshield for me. Later during auto body repair they discovered a leak in windshield so I took back to Maz. They claimed to check it and couldn't find anything. I then had leaking into my car during heavy rains. So one night my window gets busted and of course I have to replace it eventually. Next to my workout spot in Emeryville/Oakland is Maz Shields. I go in and see what they can do as far as replacing my window (how much/ how long/ when) I believe I was speaking with the owner and he helps me immediately. He looks up the window and tells me that he can do it today because they do have that window in stock. Problem is that the delivery truck from Concord took off at 11:30 and it was already making its rounds... so he would have to wait for the next one to come around. I tell him its imperative that I get it done quickly as I have to be somewhere by 2. He calls his guy and they go back to retrieve my window and tells me he can have it done by 2. YES!!! that means I can go workout while its being worked on and then be able to head to class afterwards. It ends up being done by about 1:15 and I pay my fee and get on my merry way. Apparently I could have gotten a cheaper window for 250 elsewhere, but he assured me it would not be the same and match the other side. What he was offering was the OEM window that matches exactly what the Toyota dealership would have put on. The total for the access cab door window to be replaced was $375 even because he told me he would not charge me tax and that was the best he could do. TLDR: Definitely definitely go with MAZ glass (5 stars for Mershad @ MAZ Glass) for any glass/window issues! I had a window bracket that was broken in our unit when we moved in, having put it off for a couple weeks while I sorted out other things- I figured it was time to get it taken care of. After running into a dead end with my HOA and the original contractors (building is about 13 years old), I reached out to several glazing companies and hands down Mershad @ MAZ Commercial Glass had the best customer service and follow up. While I gathered Mershad typically handles the commercial/large projects, he was the person who answered my call when I called in and he was very professional and worked with me to figure out what the issue was. He treated my "project" with care and thoughtfulness even though it was probably small beans compared to some of the others he's handled, I felt like I was in good hands working with him and that my problem was his problem. He followed up very quickly and while they did not carry the part I needed, he instructed me to order the part online and that he would then send someone out to install the part of us (what a freaking rockstar)! The part arrived and Mershad/MAZ Glass was so great about getting someone out to install the part. Followed up on when they would arrive and gave lots of updates. And he even mentioned that if we had any issues with the installed part, to let them know! poor work. poor service. poor attitude. i had bought an old BMW and the weatherstripping around the front window was seriously decayed. i wanted to get it replaced before the first rain, and so i brought the car into MAZ and was told it would take a week to get the part. not soon enough for me, so, fair enough, i called around and found the part, brought it back to MAZ as the sky was clouding up, when asked how much it would cost, the 3 guys on site looked at each other mischievously and said $175. i reluctantly agreed because by then the rain had started, but it just hit me wrong the seedy way it was estimated. regardless, i come back to pick up the car a few hours later and notice that there is a sloppy amount of excess glue all around the windshield. i point it out and they begrudgingly get one of the guys to take care of it, i seriously didn't understand the attitude i was getting. i drive off in the rain, heading out of town, and there's water coming in from the windshield. i immediately turn around, bring it back, and am greeted with rolling eyeballs. again, attitude i don't understand. there was a crimp in the weatherstripping where it wasn't properly installed. an hour later i'm still waiting around and when i ask how much longer, the guy tells me it's done. it's been done for 15 minutes. uh. thanks for that. there was not a single customer there the entire time, so it wasn't like they were just crazy busy and i got lost in the shuffle. read more

I used MAZ for a custom, seamless shower enclosure. During installation, the workers cracked and chipped my brand new tile AND kept on installing. This delayed installation by a whole week which was already a whole week behind. I had no confidence in the installers as they appeared to be second guessing themselves. I've been going to MAZ since before they moved. My first visit was for my '54 Studebaker, next for several Nissan Sentras. They have always been pleasant, personable and efficient. Prices were fine and they HAD THE GLASS IN STOCK! Once, after a new windshield, followed by lotsa rain, i noticed the floor was collecting water. I took it back and the guy said, "Check your tail lite seals." I repaired the seals around the tail lites (nothing to do with the new windshield) and the water problem was gone! MAZ installed windows and a shower door for the previous owner of a house we just purchased. Two of the windows have broken seals and the shower door is leaking. I called MAZ to ask them to come and look at it. We set a time, but they missed the appointment due to a sick worker. They called me about 2 hours before the scheduled time on the day of the appointment to cancel. We rescheduled the appointment. I had a conflict and had to call them to reschedule again. This time, the rescheduled appointment didn't get into their calendars and they missed the appointment again. Part of the communication problem is that everyone I spoke with has a thick accent which made communication difficult. I couldn't tell if they understood what I was saying. Based on the problems we're having with the windows and shower door installed by this company for the previous owner of our house, I would say that there are other companies out there that do better work and are easier to deal with. read more

Unfortunately, it was a saturday that I needed to go shopping for christmas gifts and I called several glass installers with no luck getting help immediately.
