What a wonderful business. From the first time Sergio came to my house it was instant good vibes. This is an honest dude who knows his craft well. The process of choosing a door, getting and agreeing to a quote, making a down payment and then Sergio's ordering and acquisition of the door, customization (we have a nonstandard front entry), sending to the painter (optional; we chose to) and scheduling the installation was absolutely pleasant, easy and timely via mostly text messages with the occasional phone call. Sergio was PERFECTLY communicative the whole time; there was one day where I said to my wife, "I wonder if Sergio's gotten the door yet," and later that day he texted me, "Got your door today!" Day of the installation comes and it's not Sergio that shows up initially, it's a couple of younger guys (Adam and Gabriel) who can't be too too far out of high school. They tell me Sergio's on his way and they are going to get started, and they do. These young men were also very obviously good at what they do and were so very cool and respectful both of me and my property. They got busy, I work from home, at some point Sergio showed up, and they worked throughout the day. They: - Removed my old security door - Removed my old front door - Removed the exterior and interior trim - Removed the existing custom, metal frame - Built a new frame on my lawn - Installed the new frame - Installed new exterior and interior trim (I supplied interior trim materials which I had on hand) - Installed my new front door - Installed my new security door - Cleaned up after themselves I COULD NOT BE happier with the service I received from Any Kind of Doors. The best part? Throughout the day, I got to observe a master craftsman teaching his journeymen. Over and over Sergio had Adam or Gabriel do the work, and competently coached them while observing closely. The work is immaculate and I got to watch this dude get it done and simultaneously pass on his knowledge in a family business. And my house. Looks. AWESOME. I'm seldom compelled to write a review, but when you gotta, you gotta. Sergio is a highly skilled craftsman specialized in hanging and repairing doors. I needed a new exterior patio door, and updated hardware on our other exterior doors. He spent about six hours at my house which included replacing and reframing a new patio door. I do NOT recommend. I contacted him to replace an entry door for my garage and 3 interior doors. He was supposed to show up at 3 on a Monday. He text me at 4 and asked me if I still wanted to have him come out for an estimate. I tell him yes. His man Adam arrived at around 7:30 that night. Red flags start going up. The real problem is when I told him I needed a bid on his company paperwork with license number to provide to my insurance company. I called and texted him a total of 6 times asking for it to no avail. After reading the other 1 star reviews, it became obvious that he does NOT have a license even though he claims to. I wasted a week and now have to start my search over for an installer. As others said, his bid which he text me was higher than the one Adam gave me by $300. read more

We also needed to lower the front entry door threshold to be more wheelchair friendly. Sergio came and estimated the job, told me he would have to order parts to get it done. Sergio claims he is a licensed handyman which would mean he is allowed to contract up to $500. I met him at my office to discuss small repairs around the office and showed him pictures and detailed dimensions of a front door I want replaced at a rental along with specifications for the door I ordered from Home Depot. He quoted me $500 to $600. Wweks later he went to job site to see the old door and scheduled me out about 1 week for the door replacement at my rental. Two days before our scheduled installation time, he sends a text message indicating that his price would now be $850. Wanting to understand the reason for the last minute price increase, I asked him to explain why the price changed. The only only response he offered was was a couple different variations of "Take It or Leave It". Between wanting to contract for an amount over his legal limit and his unexplained last minute price increase. I have come to the conclusion that he does not deserve my trust.
