Sarah was our server and she was the only reason I may give this another chance. We walked in on Sunday with down friends and the dogs and asked to sit outside. They were cool and said to come inside and walk to the patio. When we entered some crazy green-haired bitch screamed that there are no dogs allowed inside. We explained that we were told to bring them through and she rolled her eyes and screamed at us. After sitting down we ordered some beer and they took forever and the crazy (green haired) bitch inside said "fuck that bitch" after we tried to apologize for their confusion. Anyway, Sarah was apologetic and bought us two shots which was awesome. The patio was nice but the service is beyond poor despite the fact that Sarah was trying. read more

Ordered via Foodsby, the Mayslack Dip with Slack Fries. I was very unimpressed. The sandwich itself was incredibly dry (I read all about the supposedly tender and moist roast beef) and I only received a 1/3 tiny cup of the au jus that accompanies it. Very disappointing, I now remember the reason why we hadn't been back in a couple of years, nor will we be back. This is not Mayslack's standard or quality, regrettably, it may never be again. It is understood ownership has changed. With that being said, the name should also change to warn experienced patrons. This place used to be one of our to go to places to bring visitors from out of town. It used to be a standard night out at least once a month. It used to be the to go to place for a casual yet excellent quality and service experience. It used to be the place to go satisfying cravings for roast beef sandwich / french dip. Used to be one of the perfect places to go for slumming or pre partying/celebrating eating. This experience: 1. Slow and unattentive service when place was only half full 2. Tough and tasteless roast beef on their signature roast beef sandwich. 3. Over battered and "under fish" on their fish and chips 4. Soggy french fries even after sent back to correct the original order of "crisp" fries 5. Loud and heavy metal music in the late afternoon 6. Over priced sub par food for the quality and service 7. This was the second time we have had this experience since new ownership. All of this brought to the server's attention with no attempt to fix the problem, there fore sending away 5 customers who will not be back and will share their experience. Will update if we here from the new owners on this. If I was the owner, I would want to know about this and correct this. *The only positive to say was there was no wait for the one stall bathroom and the cole slaw was good. read more

Good place to see a show, the food isn't great and the drinks aren't cheap. Lots of seating and an outdoor patio.....

We split two small roast beef sandwiches with fries and an order of cheese curds. I had high expectations based on suggestions of friends who have eaten here. The beef was alright, not quite as tender and juicy as I would have thought but good flavor. Cheese curds were pretty standard, can't really screw that up. read more

I had to dumb out a $16 order including tax and delivery from Mayslacks because my food had bacon in it. I will take fault for maybe not realizing the chicken sandwich I ordered came with bacon but it was certainly not something visible to me at the time of my order placement. A few people from work recommended this place and i was excited to try it out so come delivery time at work via Foodsby, i was all too happy about finally digging in to some Mayslacks. Unfortunately after taking a bite of the sandwich, I immediately noticed that it had bacon which I cannot have for religious purposes so I immediately put the sandwich down. Here i was sitting in-front of a lunch I couldn't eat. I was hungry and it was a hard Monday already so i was disappointed that i may not have something to eat for lunch today. I called the restaurant and explained to them that I unfortunately do not eat bacon and was hoping the restaurant could offer me a replacement. The lady i spoke with stated that she would run it by her manager/owner and get back to me. I waited for over 3 hours because here i was thinking maybe just maybe Mayslacks would come through with some kind of an answer. Instead of a "no i am sorry it's your fault and we can't offer you a replacement sandwich" or a "we are sorry that you were not happy with your order, would a replacement sandwich or a credit back to you for another day suffice" i got no communication back at all. They chose to disregard me completely and not bother to communicate back anything period. Here i was hungry af and to make matters worse I eventually do call again but this time requested the owner but was told to call back not once but 3 times and each time being told call back in another 10-15 mins. I finally spoke with the owner whom i was hoping would be the reasonable one and understand that I shouldn't lose a first time customer; as a matter of fact i should do my best to make them a returning customer. Instead i got a back handed insult of 'next time read the descriptions of the food to avoid the bacon. I was flabbergasted by his nonchalant attitude and his desire to try even the slightest to keep a new customer. It's all good, life is about experiences and my very first experience with Mayslack's is one that reinforced my belief in 'when someone shows you who they are, believe them.' My belief about this place is that they obviously don't give a shit and an unhappy customer is no problem. You could've had a customer who ordered from your place every Monday when it came up on Foodsby but i guess not! Thank you! read more

My Northeast dive bar spot. Good for anytime of the day. Usually has a $5 cover on weekends if the band is playing, and the crowd gets rowdy after 10pm. I order food every time I go, and it's served late. Servers/bartenders are super busy and fast-paced, but they know us and treat us well. read more

Mayslacks is a great dive bar. They have great music and a great atmosphere, but I'm really disappointed in the service we got and if you want to be treated with disrespect by the bouncer please go there. On 4/29/16 girlfriend and her Mom got charged a cover which we were fine with but then they watched for the next half hour as people streamed in without a cover (including myself no cover, had to park the car). We didn't understand if they had done something wrong. When I tried to ask the security guy covering the door Moe (muscular, tall, strong looking guy in a ball cap ) he told me to "Get Lost". I was trying to understand what we could have done different (Was it the time of night, age, race, gender, etc,.) His reaction was very hostile so I asked how I could reach management he again said "Get Lost or I'll make you lost". Didn't think I was being rude but felt very threatened and very disappointing. Mayslacks is great, Moe at the door, seems like a nice enough guy, but not so much. Made for a poor experience. read more

Mayslack's is a great place to enjoy live music any night of the week. They have a large variety of bands that play there. The atmoshere of the bar is dark divey. They have a nice patio and clean restrooms as wll as a great wait staff. The food is decent, not great but decent. I think you'd be best off choosing any of the roast beef sandwiches they offer, otherwise the rest of the menu is pretty run of the mill ok, although I did enjoy their breakfast. The tater tots are seasoned kind of strongly for my tastes. I've been here several times and I have never had it be too crowded to be comfortable. read more

It might not be surrounded by a ton of other bars, but I am completely fine with going to this bar and staying there all night. I recommend drinking and sitting on the patio, but don't eat here. The last time I was there we got the pizza deal ($15 for a huge pizza and 2 tall beers) and it was decent, but tonight I had a burger and it had a foul taste. I had my date taste it too and neither of us could figure out what was wrong with it... The meat didn't look spoiled but tasted like it may have been. I wouldn't doubt if it fell on the nasty floor and they just popped it back on the grill. I'm nervous I'm going to be sick now. Needless to say I'll be eating elsewhere from now on. read more

Mayslack's is my #1 neighborhood bar. It's got great music, great food, and great service. The waitstaff is awesome. They're all friendly and attentive. Breakfast is an amazing deal, with a full 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast for under $7.00. Can't beat that!! If you haven't been there, check it out! read more
