We hired Maya Construction to finish the basement in our Chicago home. We got quotes from 5 different companies, but Maya Construction stood out the most because of their attention to detail, the ideas and suggestions that they had, and their thought out quote, which didn't leave anything out and gave us an all inclusive price. We were also impressed with their quick response time and professional manner in which they conducted themselves. We were extremely pleased with the work that they did on our basement. Udi and Ofer were on site every day, sometimes several times a day, and they were on top of their game and very responsive. There weren't any breaks in the job. Once they started the project, it was moving along. They came up with creative solutions on how to maximize the space, they gave us practical ideas on making that space more functional, they were quick to point out how things needed to be done so they are up to code, and most importantly, they didn't try to cut corners and did everything right the first time. Our quote included allowances for finishes that we would choose, so early in the process Udi sent us an excel spreadsheet detailing all the finishes we would need, the allowance and recommendation on where to get the items, as well as timing when these finishes would be needed/installed. Having this detail in front of us really helped and saved us time of putting it together ourselves. This is the level of attention that we are so happy with: these guys anticipate what would be needed and walk you through it, so that the process is not as difficult/stressful as it could be. We also ordered our kitchenette & bathroom cabinets, as well as counters through them. They have a really nice showroom with great options, so this was also convenient as well. The basement remodel finished on time and on budget. We are very happy with the entire process and with how our basement looks. We honestly don't have any complaints about Maya Construction. We found out about them through Facebook, and now we recommend them to everyone looking to undertake a house related project. Last winter, we reached out to Udi at Maya Construction Group because we were interested in redoing our master bathroom, installing a cabinet in the basement, and updating our backsplash in our kitchen. Udi truly made the experience easy. After gathering initial information about the project on the phone, he visited our place to take measurements and talk through what we wanted. He walked us through the process from start to finish and gave us an overview of the timeline. He explained that we would be buying most of the materials (other than paint, grout, etc.) and gave us recommendations on where to go to buy them. He gave me specific instructions on dimensions and limitations on items I should get. One of the things that I appreciated most about the process was that Udi not only made sure that his company was on track to meet deadlines, he was checking in with me from time to time to make sure I was ordering items and making decisions in a timely manner. I was able to ship items to his warehouse, and he even picked up a few items for me in town. He checked all of the items to make sure they were in good shape, and once we had everything, they started on the project. The project basically took three weeks, with a few minor finishing touches the fourth week. Udi or his partner showed up every single day to make sure everything was on track. The guys that work with Udi on his team are fantastic - I could tell, in particular, that the tiler was precise in his installation. There were also a few items I bought that didn't work out (no fault of Maya Construction), and Udi was quick to give me suggestions on replacement items. Once the project was over, Udi checked in with us several times to confirm there were no further issues or items we needed from him. Throughout the process, Udi and his entire team were respectful, communicative, friendly, and timely. I felt absolutely no stress at any point in the project. I also believe the price was reasonable, in light of the high quality services they provide. We could not be happier that we chose to work with Maya Construction to remodel our Beverly basement. As soon as I spoke to co-owner Udi over the phone, Maya went straight to the top of my list. I really appreciated his prompt response to my online inquiry and the fact that he was able to give me a general idea of the cost over the phone. When we had Maya come out to give us a quote, he spent nearly an hour talking to us about the work and our different options. While the final quote he provided was in the same range as the other quotes we received, Maya was going to do A LOT more work for the price, including all new windows, replacing an exterior door, replacing all of the old pipes, and adding more vents/electrical outlets/and lights than the other companies. Throughout our project, working with Udi and his partner Ofer was a great experience. They were in routine contact with us and everything felt very transparent. They helped us figure out the design for the basement and offered lots of helpful suggestions that we wouldn't have considered on our own. Jack, the foreman, was incredibly knowledgeable and is a real asset to the company. Jack was particularly thoughtful when it came to installing the electrical outlets and configuration for the lights. He thought of things we never would have, but are now very glad to have. Maya kept to both budget and schedule and when we did the final walk though, they implemented every change we identified, without any pushback. In fact, I recently reached out with a question about a wire, after the project was completed and they had received final payment, and Udi called me immediately to let me know that he would send Jack out to fix the issue the next morning. From start to finish Maya, went above and beyond to make sure we were happy that we chose their company. Our basement turned out better than we could've imagined. The next time we need work done on the house, we will absolutely be choosing them again. read more

We hired Maya construction for a bathroom, kitchen, and wood floor remodel of a house we purchased in December. We wanted to start work as soon as possible so we could move in after our apartment lease ended in April. Udi and Ofer were extremely helpful with breaking down first steps and managing expectations. As expected with a 110-yr old house, there were a number of unexpected changes to our original plan, including HVAC vent re-routes, electric updates, etc. Udi prepared us for these possibilities from the very beginning and was conservative with his time and cost estimates. Udi and Ofer were very communicative and candid with any possible changes to our contract and/or timing and walked us through each decision. Whenever unexpected issues did arise, we felt confident that Udi and Ofer tried their hardest to keep additional costs down. Despite all of the additional work, they managed to stay within their original timeline estimate. With regards to cost, Maya's quote was pretty competitive compared to others. There were cheaper quotes, but they didn't account for a lot of potential issues or repairs/updates that Udi noticed during his walkthrough. In retrospect, there's no way the cheaper quotes would have been feasible and we were happy for an accurate up front estimate. We couldn't be happier with the end product, Udi and his team worked hard with us to come up with a custom-looking kitchen for the cost of stock cabinets. All tile work and wood floor refinishing turned out great. They had high attention to detail throughout. Overall, Maya construction was extremely professional, honest, and skilled. We would not hesitate to use them again in the future. read more

We did our research before hiring Maya Construction Group and found them to be everything we were looking for in a contractor. The other contractors we interviewed came in and told us what they wanted to do. Maya's owners, Udi and Ofer, took the time to listen to us and our needs and worked with us to give us just what we wanted. Udi and Ofer, personally worked side by side with us throughout the project and quickly responded to any and all questions. This was very important to us since we had a lot of requirements and specifications that we needed to adhere too. Their work crews were also fantastic! They were prompt and very respectful both of us and our home. They cleaned the area at the end of the work day and always let us know what we could expect to be accomplished each day. Maya construction gets my unqualified best and highest recommendation. We are a legal services firm located in the Loop. We hired Maya Construction to build some custom cubicles for us. From initial phone call to final payment the relationship was professional, positive, and productive. The project moved along fast and flawlessly. Udi Yeger and his team worked effectively with the building engineer and staff and moved in and out of the construction site creating virtually no disruption to the building's operations or to ours. Each day I prepared staff for the noise, dust and confusion I expected we would experience and each day we were all very pleasantly surprised. Udi's crew consisted of skilled craftsmen who were all very well briefed on the project and executed it perfectly. I thought I would meet with frequent interruptions and questions, but after the initial discussion of project details, the team was on auto-pilot. Finally, the construction clean-up was amazing. I hired Maya Construction for my kitchen remodel and couldn't be happier. A kitchen remodel is a major expense and involves almost all of the building trades. I wanted an experienced General Contractor with a reputation to protect who could answer all my questions clearly. When you start opening up walls on a 100+-year-old Chicago house, you want a GC who has seen it all, who can explain whatever issues might arise, clearly outline your options, and promptly respond to your emails and texts. Ofer fit the bill from the beginning to the end of the project. The crew were courteous, arrived when they said they would, dealt with whatever my funky old house threw at them without batting an eye, cleaned up at the end of every day, and were detail oriented. Everything about my new kitchen is right and tight. I've been dealing with Chicago trades people and contractors for twenty years, and it often involves a lot of riding herd, settling for "good enough," waiting for them to get back to you, haggling about what was agreed on, etc. None of that was the case with Maya. They are unlikely to be your lowest bid, but you are also unlikely to be dissatisfied with the work. read more

We hired Maya Construction to remodel our kitchen and bathroom, refinish our floors, install lighting fixtures, paint my entire condo, and extend a knee wall into a full wall and frame a new door. I had reached out to at least 10 highly rated contractors prior to Maya, and couldn't even get a complete quote for all of the work I wanted to do from most of them. Udi was on-site the next day and provided a complete quote for everything I had requested, and made recommendations that ended up saving me a lot of time and money. From the quote to the last day of my remodel, Udi and his team were *incredibly* responsive which was a huge relief as a first time homeowner completing this work for the first time, and helped set clear expectations about what supplies were needed. The crew completed high quality work, kept to an aggressive timeline, and were courteous and knowledgeable. My neighbors even commented on how respectful they were of the space. We used Maya Construction Group to do a complete remodel of our basement (demolition of floors, walls, ceilings, then rebuild into more open and updated space) and I cannot say enough good things about our experience. Udi and Ofer were communicative from the beginning to the end of the project, giving us updates on start date, letting us know of issues as they arose, letting us know when we needed to have supplies ready. Their crew arrived on time every day (asked to work on Saturdays as well), and were very respectful and kept everything clean (as clean as a construction project can be anyways!). Project was started and completed on time. We have a 100+ year old house and were afraid of what issues might be uncovered, but only minor issues surfaced and the increased cost quoted by Maya was minimal and in line with industry standard. Overall these guys do great and timely work and are trustworthy. We will be using them again for projects on the main floors of our house. read more

We recently used Maya Construction Group for our condo remodel in Chicago and I cannot recommend them enough! We interviewed several contractors and although Maya was not the cheapest we definitely felt they had the experience and professionalism to handle our work. Our condo association is very picky and we were worried about neighbors complaining. The guys made sure they covered the common area hallways and elevator properly. They cleaned every day to make sure there were no garbage left anywhere. Maya construction also owns Planet Cabinets which made our cabinetry and quartz counter selection easy and quick. I highly recommend using planet cabinets if you want to just purchase cabinets. The designer in the store was extremely helpful and patient until we got our exact design. Our remodel was a great success and we are enjoying every bit of it!! We had a big basement original to a 1950s ranch house complete with wood paneling, sticky parquet tile, a bathroom that didn't function, a nasty hot tub room and so many other pockets of dead/wasted space. Our third sewage backup losing everything and walls cut out to remove mold combined with three kids under 5, it was time to do something! I received several quotes, while Maya was not the cheapest, it was the most comprehensive and user friendly for this tired, working, pandemic crazy mom. Ofer and Udi, were alwayst available and responsive. They were patient with our never ending questions and ideas. They were fair, transparent and helped a vision become an amazing reality. Lastly, I think the best part for me was they became like family. My kids adored them, Mirek, Jack and their crews...and so did our two crazy rescue dogs. I could not be more pleased with the outcome! Throughout the entire project I worked with Udi, Ofer and their team, they were always very professional and prompt. We finished our kitchen remodeling within 2 months with Maya Construction. The entire project couldn't have gone more smooth. The old kitchen was completely demoed. We opened up the floor plan to extend the kitchen into the small bedroom right next to the kitchen, reconfigured the countertop layout, moved the opening into the porch, replaced a rotted-out pipe behind the kitchen wall. It was a lot of work and these guys worked non-stop and efficiently. Stanley and his crew are here on time first thing in the morning and worked long hours into the early evening. Ofer is always available if we have any questions. They're very responsive to our requests during the project, we asked if we could add an extra line of heating/cooling to the attic and it was done within that day. The kitchen came out so great, we couldn't be happier. We'd definitely be willing to come back to them for our next project. read more

Maya completely renovated our kitchen and opened the kitchen to the living room area via wall demo and bar construction. Udi was very responsive & professional during the estimating process. I received quotes from 5 companies & Maya came in 2nd lowest. Although Maya's quote wasn't the lowest, I went with them, due the excellent reviews on "Yelp". Udi assigned Jack to perform the work, who was also very professional, diligent and offered good suggestions when confronted with those annoying unexpected problems which sometimes arise during a construct project. All in all I was very pleased with their work and timely completion of the project (i.e. 2 days B4 Turkey-Day). Udi renovated our kitchen 3 years ago, and we recently had an issue with our kitchen counter top seam. I reached out to Udi to inquire about what I should do, and without hesitation he said, "no problem, I'll come over with my fabricator and we'll take a look." They came, provided options and we talked through next steps. Turns out that, despite our designer and cabinet makers assurances, counter top supports were needed. I so appreciated the way Udi worked with us to explore all options and spent the time to ensure we'd be happy. A week later, Udi took care of the seam and install of the brackets at no charge.
