I hired this company for mold remediation and was very disappointed. The crew on-site was polite and super nice, but the process did more damage than the work itself. I was never told my built-ins would be completely removed, I only discovered it after the fact. Had I known, I could have arranged for proper removal, but instead they were torn out in a way that left them unsalvageable, costing me thousands to replace. Afterward, the company pointed to the notes fine print rather than acknowledging the lack of communication. If you use them, insist on a clearly explained scope of work. If you rely on professionals to help you navigate confusing home repairs, like myself, these aren't your guys. Update to response: First, I want to be clear that I don't believe Adam or the company ever acted with any intent to mislead me or cause harm. I think this situation came down to a lack of communication that unfortunately left me in a difficult position. To clarify, the note about the built-ins wasn't hidden in "fine print," but it was only mentioned once in the "Other Notes" section. It was never discussed verbally, by email, or over the phone, and it wasn't included in the detailed action items. I don't think a single mention buried in a notes section qualifies as meaningful disclosure, especially when no one pointed it out or explained its implications. Perhaps Adam does. 1 star - Would Not Recommend We hired this company to handle mitigation work in our closet following a roof issue. While they were able to complete the job quickly, the overall experience was deeply disappointing and I would not recommend them. The Good: They were responsive and able to get to the job quickly, which matters in a mitigation situation. The Bad: The work was messy and careless. Sealant ended up on furniture that was well outside the containment area, and when we raised the issue, the team showed little accountability or willingness to take ownership of the mistake. The drywall removal was also poorly executed. Rather than making clean cuts, they tore it out recklessly, damaging surrounding drywall that was otherwise in good condition -- creating additional work and cost for the rebuild team. The Dealbreaker: My biggest concern was their resistance to providing dry logs. Our insurance company required them, and I had to essentially argue with this company just to get documentation they should have readily provided. In an insurance claim situation, this kind of pushback is completely unacceptable and added unnecessary stress to an already difficult process. What started as a positive experience ended very poorly. Adam was initially responsive and able to start the project quickly. However, early on there were miscommunications within the team that led to additional work and scope we did not agree to, along with issues discovered during the job (like leaking fixtures). After mitigation, when we moved into the insurance phase, communication dropped significantly. I understand they were busy, but responsiveness became a major issue during a critical time when we needed guidance navigating insurance. Things took a sharp turn when Whitney (co-owner) got involved. She was extremely difficult to reach--despite 15-20 calls, we never received a callback. Communication was limited to email and often delayed. The tone also shifted to heavy legal language, including lien threats, which felt unnecessary and stressful given the situation. We were previously told we wouldn't be liable beyond insurance coverage, but that was not honored. In the end, we paid more out of pocket just to avoid prolonged back-and-forth. Green Water & Fire sent Steve to my house that night. He even went upstairs to my neighbor's unit to figure out what the source of the leak was. The thermal imaging was cool and the report they sent was very thorough. A week later I was ready to start remediation. They protected everything very well. My kitchen was in a little bubble. My ceiling was soundproofed back in 2020 so they had lots of layers to go through. They dried the ceiling out for 3 days but came back every day to check the moisture. This more recent time, my tenant caused a catastrophic flood and then refused to move out. When things soured with the tenant, Adam was incredibly helpful and dealt directly with the tenant per my request. Despite having to wait almost 6 months for full payment, he never demanded I pay him directly. My condo suffered extensive water damage caused by a unit above me. They were a local business and recommended by a few other condo owners in my building. They did a great job remediating the damage. They were quick to provide quotes and the necessary information that my insurance company needed approve the work. This incident happened back in August of 2021 and due to the shortage of contractors, I had a hard time finding a general contractor to do all the repairs necessary. They did have a recommended vendor list which included MG Residential. I highly recommend you do not use this general contractor. This was my second time using Green Water & Fire, and each time I am glad I used them. Our entire basement flooded with backed up sewer water from the heavy rains this past week. Within 2 days (during a very busy week for them) they came out and started removal of anything damaged, and now, a week later, everything is fully sanitized and dried out. The communication is always good and their customer service is excellent. Adam is always happy to answer any questions and prove their value as well (I got quotes from cheaper companies before, but clearly they weren't going to be using all the proper methods). For me, I would rather pay to have peace of mind especially concerning mold and bacteria, and working with them always gives me less to worry about during a stressful situation. Green Restoration was a life saver. After finding mold behind our basement base boards we called Green Restoration and a few other companies. My husband and I naively went with the less expensive company who only demolished the drywall but did not remove / treat all of the mold issues. We called Adam & team panicked and they were able to send a team out the next morning to seal off the area and begin removing / drying out the basement. Once the mold was removed they checked the fans daily to ensure our basement was fully dry before spraying sealant on. Only complaint we have is that at the end of the job they did not take all plastic used to cover the area & when removing some of the plastic/tape paint was peeled off the wall. Given we need to re-paint part of the basement after getting new drywall and insulation put in it is not a huge deal (although slightly annoying). Everyone on the team was extremely prompt and respectful of safety precautions during COVID (masks on at all times!) The next morning I called Green Restoration first thing and Adam was out to our home within an hour. His crew arrived a few hours after that and by the afternoon they had made significant process. Every phase of the project went very smoothly. This was a difficult job and the crew, led by Dennis, was up for the challenge. The initial cleanup and demolition were executed quickly and thoroughly. I've never written a Yelp review before, but while I hope never to have to hire these guys again, I definitely will be calling them first if I have the need. They came out fast, their prices were reasonable compared to the competition (cheap compared to what I expected), their written proposal was thorough, their work was complete and matched the proposal, and Richard (the main guy who came to my home) was thorough and conscientious. On top of all that, during one of his visits, Richard discovered a leaking pipe from some new plumbing work (because he was being thorough like I said) and I just got really depressed when I learned about it. Richard responded with compassion (a literal pat on the back) and when I thanked him later, he said only "it's alright man, I see people on their worst days, I get it." I was very touched by that.
