I don't often give 5-star ratings, but from start to finish, GCPRO was by far the best mitigation and repair company on StateFarm's preferred list. It took ServPro two weeks to contact me after the initial assignment of my claim. By that time, GCPRO was finishing the initial remediation of the damage done to my home and had begun the build-back process. GCPRO contacted me within the hour to schedule the mitigation for the next day. I was so very impressed at the professionalism and knowledge of the two young guys that did the mitigation work to dry out my rooms and remove all the damaged. They were so passionate about the tare-down process and took great care with the wood trim. A week later, Adam G., the project manager, visited my home and walked me through the build-back process. Adam was thorough with what needed to be done and maintained communication and visits as the work was being completed. His team did an amazing job drywalling, plastering, painting, and CLEANING up after they completed their work. To say I'm pleased is an understatement. I will definitely be using them for other work I need done. BTW I live on the southeast side of Chicago, 10 minutes from the Indiana border, and they traveled all the way from Lombard! These folks were terrible. They didn't return calls, didn't make any calls to provide an update on our project. I worked with two folks and the same result. useless. When I called them out for not providing updates, they blamed the insurance company. When we called the insurance company, they said the asked for information from GCPro and they never provided it. We have been waiting 8 months to get our siding repaired...and I place most of the blame of the delay on GCPro. I would never use them again....I am so class they backed out of our project. Incredibly responsive and do great work. I had Matt and team do some mold remediation work in our basement and the remediation and reconstruction was done in a very timely and respectful manner. We have a young baby and I never had to ask them to take off shoes or make sure the area was contained. It's a small detail, but it's amazing to me how many workers never wear shoe covers or remove their shoes. Just illustrates the attention to detail. They also passed the air quality inspection done afterwards upon first try, which indoor sciences said is unusual based on their experiences with many mold remediation companies. Used these guys to help with temporary pack out. Basically they helped move all of my things into my garage while my place was being renovated (floors). They had an estimator come out prior and worked directly with my insurance company throughout the process. Once they work was complete on the floors a different crew came out and put everything back. I had an ice dam in my gutter which caused extensive damage in my home. Not only did dry wall and insulation need to be replaced, but almost all the flooring on the main floor, with the exception of the bathroom. GCPro came out the night the water starting leaking and did some initial remedial work. The next morning they were there, on time, and did extensive tear down and started the drying out process. Once all that was done, they then did all the repairs. The were always on time and treated both myself and my home with respect. We recently had our washing machine flood our house. It destroyed a bathroom, laundry room, living room, kitchen, and playroom. Our insurance sent GC Pro to handle the water mitigation. Tehy were at our house within 3 hours of discovering the flood (only 2 hours from calling our insurance). The did such an amazing and quick job with the mitigation (they had so much furniture and stuf to move!), that we decided to use them for the repairs also. Close to the end of the repairs, we had a second, smaller flood occur (on our new floors and walls), from a different source. The were there right away doing the mitigation again. Afterwards they fixed everything so perfectly. Our walls look better than ever. Their attention to detail was amazing. Every tiny thing was fixed down to replacing door hinges and floor vents. Our old house looks like it was built this year! It is better than we ever imagined it could be. Matt Pekala was our main contact, and he was phenomenal. He was always reachable (no matter when we needed him) and so knowledgeable. Today, we had our third leak in three months (a new problem). Our first call was to Matt. He was at our house in a llittle over an hour, testing our wall and floors. While I am horrified to go through the whole process again, I am happy to be working with GC Pro again because I know they will take care of everything. read more

This company truly is "as good as it gets." When my home was damaged from flooding, GCPRO was involved in the restoration process. They managed packing up all the belongings that weren't destroyed, transporting them to their warehouse and storing them. The team was meticulous in the process, very respectful, very caring, and also on time. They documented items with pictures and kept me apprised every step of the way. When it was time to bring back the boxes of my belongings, they not only delivered, but unpacked--and put things away! The manager, Emily, not only managed the entire process efficiently, but even thought ahead to suggest things I had not thought of. I highly recommend this company. They are the best! My basement had flooded. Called GCPro. They responded fast. Within hours all water and carpet was gone, and all furniture/toys/shelves were moved and propped up and the de-humidifiers and fans were going. They were a team of 5. Worked hard and fast. No hassles or hiccups or dilly-dallying. Knew what they were doing. They had to move in and out of the house a lot of times - moving stuff in and out. I let them work in their boots. If you are a cleanliness freak, would strongly recommend you talk to the restoration lead/manager and set up expectations. I did have to clean some portion of the floor and carpet after they were done. There were couple of scratches on the door and floor. Overall I am happy with their work. read more

When my partner and I bought our condo, we found out that the previous owners had tried and failed several times to address a water problem on the west side of the building. Anytime it rained, the transom window above the sliding glass door out to the deck would leak. The issue was especially bad during severe storms with winds out of the west. On occasion, water would literally pour into our den. Our neighbors were all fairly convinced that the issue was roof-related, however, we never got leaks when the snow began to melt in the spring. I was fairly convinced that the issue was tied to how our upstairs neighbor's sliding glass door was installed. Enter GCPRO. One of my former colleagues recommended I reach out to GCPRO, as she had experienced a similar issue in her condo and worked with GCPRO to resolve it. I got in touch with a guy at GCPRO named Eugene. He came out to our condo on a Saturday morning in June to assess the problem. After looking at our door and checking out the roof, he quickly confirmed that the issue was most likely caused by our upstairs neighbor's sliding glass door. His guess was that the flashing around the door was improperly installed, and was therefore routing water directly into our den. The next step was to have a couple carpenters come out and reset my neighbor's door. At this point, I exchanged a number of emails with Eugene in order to schedule carpenters and pin down a scope of work and budget. This part of the process is really the only reason I didn't give GCPRO 5 stars. It was like pulling teeth to get them to provide a written estimate of work. Their hesitancy to do so stemmed from the fact that they wouldn't know what they were dealing with until they removed my neighbor's door. I get it. But as a condo owner dealing with a homeowners association, I can't do anything without a scope of work and budget in writing. After a number of exchanges, I was finally able to get them to provide a "worst case scenario" scope and budget of $5K. The caveat was that they'd only charge for the labor and parts required to fix the problem, which was not to exceed the set budget. A few weeks later, 2 seasoned carpenters spent about 6 hours removing my neighbor's door and replacing the old, improperly installed flashing, which was indeed the source of our problem. They then reset the door and installed all new exterior trim. The grand total for all this work rang up to $1400, all of which was covered by our association. It's now been 2 months since GCPRO completed the work. Our den has stayed dry as a bone - no more leaks! But I'm also happy to report that their work comes with a 1-year warranty. Overall, I had a pretty great experience with GCPRO and would recommend that anyone with water issues in their home give GCPRO a shot. read more

I will say that Alex was nice and the people I encountered were friendly but beware and get a contract up front for all work. They came to do an inspection and clearly stated they would open the wall, do an inspection and close it back up for the agreed upon amount. Depending on the repairs needed, we'd determine the cost for that service separately. As it turns out no repairs were needed so when I called to have them come out and close the hole in my wall they quoted me a price and a very large price at that. I guess the morale is even if the people are nice, always get a signed contract up front. Ironically, they wanted me to sign a contract to close the wall but one wasn't needed up front when I wrote them my initial check. A bit sketchy if you ask me. Very unfortunate. read more

GCPro handled a recent move for my tenant and myself that was a gold star experience from start to finish. We needed to vacate our condo for 10 days to have the flooring refinished. We left the condo in "as is" condition, ie, did not pack anything. GCPro packed the entirety of the contents with complete professionalism and care. Each box was clearly labeled with the contents. Each item was securely wrapped with paper and bubble wrap and boxed appropriately. For example- each piece of my great grandmother's china was carefully and individually wrapped in bubble wrap, then paper, then boxed in a box further cushioned with layers of bubblewrap and paper. To be frank, I would not have done such a thorough job myself. We suffered no lost items or breakage of any kind. Moving back in, the boxes were delineated into the appropriate rooms and unpacking was easy and organized. I cannot recommend them more highly for any move you may have upcoming. read more

David not only called me within 10 minutes of being assigned, but was at the condo within the hour, to do the assessment. He and his crew were back the next morning to start demo. The staff were kind and courteous. They methodically took our walls, ceilings and floors apart and left each day with the cleanest construction site I've ever seen. Not only did they do a great job with the remediation, but David answered all my questions about next steps and was kind enough to answer many phone calls from me after they were done, to help me understand what all the next steps would be.
