I'm so disappointed with this business. I arrived to get my bridesmaid dress tailored. After being told one price, I was told another upon payment. After some back and forth with her coworker, they brought the price back down. When I went back to pick up my dress, there was an ink stain. I've NEVER worn this dress before and made sure to inspect before bringing it in. They were dismissive and told me there's nothing they could do and insinuated that I must have brought it in that way. I already didn't feel great dropping my dress off and to have to entire process end like this is unacceptable. I came to this tailor about five years ago and had my Valentine Vegas wedding dress altered here back in 2020. They did such an amazing job at the time -- the fit was perfect, and I was really happy with how everything turned out. I recently came back to have a wedding guest dress tailored, but unfortunately, my experience this time wasn't the same. I requested a specific dress length, but when I tried it on, it wasn't altered to the length I asked for. On top of that, the price was much higher than I expected. I have been coming here since I was in high school, and have had several ball gowns hemmed here. However, I would not call this alterations, it seems they only do hemming. The last time I came here last year to have a belt added to my dress and the lady in charge kept saying no, but the lady that helped me said she could. They had a discussion in their language and the lady that was helping me told me she would do it. And she did a beautiful job. And here we are again. The main lady there told me she couldn't do alterations to my dress. So it seems she prefers only doing hems and things of that nature. I decided to come in to ask questions. I had a few since I wanted to make an outfit for a specific event. I asked my first question and the person at the counter said it could be done. I asked a second question and she said no. Then she immediately started tending to other customers and ignored me. I waited at the counter. Then when she finished with the customers in the dressing room she walked past me to the people behind me and asked what she could to to help them. I said "Ma'am, I still had questions." She said "No can do." I said, "Thats fine you cant do that request but what about the first one I asked?" And she begrudgingly turned around and said, "Okay what do you want?" I don't understand how I could be standing there trying to get information for her to just walk past me and completely ignore me because she couldn't do a single one of my requests. I am honestly heartbroken. I've never been treated this way by a tailor. I have a hard time with social interactions because of my disability and so it was a very difficult encounter. I had to say "Never mind, I don't want your work" and walk away. I was going to start crying and needed to leave. I'm typing this from my car still shaken. They lie and say they can't do any alterations that they can really do!! This place is suppose to be highly recommended! I can't believe the service I received and get turned away. I had this VERY stretchy formal dress w/zipper hard to zip up (one of those) and she said she could not zip it up and that I should get a bigger size dress! WTF!!! And what about changing the zipper? These formal dresses always have zippers that are hard to zip up! It had NOTHING to do with getting a bigger size dress! The material was very stretchy and zip could still sit comfortably in it OR even do cartwheels and somersaults and it still won't tear or break!! In this case, the alteration lady don't know what she's talking about! Zipper doesn't zip up- get a bigger size dress. Zipper no good-- Cannot change it!! So WTF??? I am not fat, obesed or have Dolly Parton breast! I paid 52.00 dollars to have 2 jumpsuits hemmed. One was not short enough it it needed corrections. They tried to charge me an additional 20 dollars for their mistake. I explained to this lady that I should not be charged period since she measured me wrong. Then she says $15. I paid in all $67 dollars for 2 jumpsuits to be hemmed which is absolutely outrageous. There is a cleaners on Sepulveda in the Home Depot, Albertsons shopping center in Carson that is much cheaper and more accurate with their hemming. Plus better customer service these people act like they don't want to communicate with you all they care about is money. I would not even have given them one star the deserve 0 stars. GOT FOOD OIL STAINS ON MY DRESS!!!! Came to this establishment to get a bridesmaid dress altered for a wedding that I'm in at the end of the month. There were three ladies in the back eating when I walked in. My dress was fresh out of its packaging when I brought it to the store. One lady did my measurements and all went well until I was checking out. After I took off my dress, I gave it to the seamstress while I continued to get dressed. When I came out of the dressing room, and was getting ready to checkout my dress had what appeared to be large oil stains on the front. I questioned the seamstress on what happened with my dress within the minute of me handing her my dress and me finishing up in the dressing room. The seamstress implied it was just water that came from the counter top and it was also was a stains from my hair. The stains clearly smelled like grease and WERE NOT there when I handed my dress back to her. In clear site, looking in the back at their work stations I can saw containers of Wing Stop!!!! I confronted them about the food in the back and they DENIED IT and continued to deny it and blame it on me. There was an extreme lack of professionalism and this whole situation was disastrous. read more

I came to get my bridesmaid dress altered because it was too long. I proceeded to give deposit from my card but yvonne asked me to go to atm to give cash which i was ok with cuz I banked at Wells Fargo. So i withdrawal $40 and have Yvonne the $40 and she said it was gonna be $25 deposit. So as she's writing on the receipt of what i was giving. i asked if I could send the rest of the bridesmaids there she said yes and proceeded to give me business cards but i told her I would take a pic of one and send to the other 10 girls via text. May Alterations took the dress apart and re-sized it for my daughter. It was a perfect fit! So when I needed some repairs, I decided to drop in at May. I stopped by today to have a quick repair to my cycling jacket with zip-off sleeves. The zipper for the sleeves needed to be resown.
