I brought a dress to be hemmed for a wedding and Susi was very nice and professional! I felt welcomed and appreciated by the ladies there. My dress was ready within the same week I dropped it off and it is PERFECT! You cannot tell it was even hemmed! I recently got two pants hemmed here! I previously came to get others done and liked the result. I don't know much about hemming but they came out just how I wanted them. They are always very nice and will text with an update if necessary. For me, I didn't have a rush to get them done, so I went on Wednesday and they were ready by Monday. She was saying she could have it done by Friday or Saturday, but I wasn't in a rush, so I didn't mind when I got them back. The two pants were $15 each! There is also plenty of parking in the back. I wanted so much to hop on the 5-star train cause I love to support mom & pop businesses! However, my experience didn't live up to the hype unfortunately. What I asked for was to take up a group tees a few inches and replace a sweatshirt zipper. Pros: The seamstress had a very sweet disposition and she also knocked off a few bucks since I had a somewhat "bulk" order. Plus she took it upon herself to replace the cuffs on the sweatshirt free of charge since one was ripped slightly. Cons: The job was done a few days later than quoted, which is not a big deal but worth noting. Then I hate to complain about the cuffs because I know she was trying to do a good deed, however I just wish she'd asked me first. Call me weird or homeless lol, but I rather like my clothes alittle worn and tattered. Also the cuffs were a different material and they were pretty tight above the elbow so I had to purposely stretch them so my arms could get circulation! Lastly I wasn't even going to write a review because the above is somewhat petty, BUT then two of my shirts completely unraveled in the wash, and there was thread wound around the rest of my laundry in one big tangled mess. That's 24 bucks wasted, so that's the main reason I'm sharing and will go elsewhere for future alterations. read more

I brought my jumpsuit in to have 2 patches applied in time for Halloween! Lou's Alterations down the street quoted me on a 4 day turnaround, and these gals at Golden Stitch gave me a 1 night turnaround, for about $18. That's unreal. Susie (?) and Carmen handled this job in the most amazing time, were super helpful and even took time to make one last alteration on the fly when it came to one of the patches. I requested services to have one inch total to be removed from the item I wanted to be altered I was given a price and told I was to pay at pick up. I wanted to know the price so when I picked up I could have to keep in mind. However, when picking up my item that was altered, she charged me nine dollars more than what was quoted. And not only that it took way longer than expected. I did not received any text or information I had to keep calling. I already had in mine to give extra more than the original quote, but it was a shock to me that it was way more than I expected, and was quoted to begin with. I wasn't given an estimate. I was given a set price and it was more than that price. Overall, the lady is very nice. I just disappointed on the price at the end and the time it took for the alteration and the lack of communication. I feel like it was just a slight adjustment in what I requested, but almost paying for like half of the price if I were to buy it new. Seems a little bit too expensive and more than the same price that was given to begin with. read more

Last minute me was in a rut and needed to get a couple of dresses hemmed by the end of the week (it was a Monday). The first business I went to told me I would need to come back the following week because his dress lady was out. Found Golden Stitch on Yelp who just so happened to be down the street from the other alterations place. Susi was the nicest person. I explained what I needed done for one of the dresses and tried on the other one for her to pin since I needed it shortened. Pricing for both dresses was VERY reasonable. Susi hemmed my jeans and it came out perfect. There's a little room where you can put the jeans on, so she can mark/pin exactly where you want your jeans to be hemmed. Suzy is great. I've taken my pants and jeans here twice for tapering and hemming. I think the quality of work is good so far, and I'm hoping the stitching work stays for a long time. Suzy usually takes 3-4 days for six pants ($150) to hem and taper, and she will text you when it's ready. Parking is in the back and she only takes cash or Zelle. She loves thrifting and has found some great deals at Goodwill and Salvation Army (Calvin Klein, Nine West, Michael Kors) that at retail cost over $100 each but only about $10 at the thrift stores. If the size is a little bit off, she'd go to Susi to make some alterations and it would come out like the dress was custom made for her. Susi is a magician with the sewing machine.
