Went to get my pants hemmed. Well, I looked up "affordable dry cleaners" and this one came up in the search. I've been looking for a less expensive dry cleaners since mine was too far after we moved back to Torrance. The reviews kept saying the "prices are reasonable" so I went and asked. They are not, they are double the dry cleaner I already was using closer to my home. $15 to dry clean a suit jacket!? No thanks. I understand that they may be nice but bottom line, cost matters most. I'll continue going to Vivi's cleaners on Figueroa and 228th, not an ad for them but they only charge $7.50 for a suit jacket. Save time and money, in this economy it's what matters. Had to hem up my daughter's prom dress. All I did was place safety pins on dress to show how shortened it needed to be and they did an AMAZING job! I never saw the seamstress nor did my daughter have to go in for measurements. I was so scarred it would not come out ok since the instructions were so vague. But it couldn't have been better. I went to Louie's cleaners to get my wedding suit, blazers, and pants, and my wife's wedding dress to get it cleaned and preserved. The pants were $5, the blazer was $15, and the wedding dress cleaning and preservation was $250. They even offered to clean her veil and preserve it for no extra cost! The boxing did take about 9 weeks, but it was right after the July 4 holidays so it's understandable. Louie's cleaned my suit very well. As for the preservation of the wedding dress and veil, they did an excellent job! My wife can now view her preserved wedding dress from time to time, and she is very happy about it. Firrst and last visit... While running errands, this place was convenient. Reviews were good so I brought in dresses to be cleaned. Customer service was good. I just wish I asked for prices before I took the receipt and left. Talk about overpriced. I paid $27 for 2 basic work dresses that are not made of any fancy materials. What's worse is the short one cost more than the mid-length one. I'd rather drive farther and pay 1/3 of the price per dress. You would think I had alterations of some sort at these prices. read more

Inside the shop is a little in need of some cleaning arrangements (there was a daddy long leg staring at me in the fitting room but because I'm tall it really stood out to me) + customer service could be friendlier but they were cool. but the work that they do is amazing, as you can see my dress was nicely fitted to my body and she still like me a little room so I would be able to sit down LOL. Do not send your delicate clothes for dry cleaning in this place. They ruined my belt dress. (dress was 160$ macys), it came back ripped on all corners of the belt that comes with the dress and had couple of stains on the dress. The owner said that it is wear and tear and it is also due to the material of the dress that hit the metal in their dry cleaning machine, and cant do anything about the tear. My dress was brand new, never worn. They should know better on how to take care of delicate material. I called and no one answered but we decided to drive here anyway since we were only 7 minutes away. Glad we came. They were able to sew the patches on right there, fix some patches that wasn't all the easy sewn on and it only took maybe 20mins. Each patch was $5 which is a normal price for big patches. We waited for the patches to be finished and it wasn't any issue. If you need patches sewn on right away this is the place to go. The customer service inside was good. read more

They cut the label from one of my designer sweaters that I entrusted to them to clean. It was brand new and first time being cleaned and I specifically put a marker on there to make sure. I called them and the guy who answered the phone put the blame on someone else and even said I don't have proof which is so dumb as i wouldn't be calling to complain in the first place anyway. First - if you're a business owner, you don't put the blame on someone else but in fact should handle the call diligently and go over what happened. So disappointed. read more

This is THE place for alternations. Cleanings are great to of course (maybe hard to mess that part up though?) I've been getting alterations/custom fittings done on pants, jackets, and even had a t-shirt turned into a tank top. I moved, but still drive here from downtown. If you're still curious for more details: #1 They understand style so they get what look I'm going for with pants etc #2 Insanely fair prices. $20 to custom fit pants. LIFE HACK: I now get oversized Levi's at Tj max for $20 then have them fitted for $20. Boom, $80 retail pants, custom fit for $40 total out the door! #3 They have a sign out from that they did the dress for Ms LA one year, so I'm guessing they can do anything. read more

I just purchased brand new dresses for work wear and brought them to Louie's to be hemmed and dry cleaned. For $49, I expected better quality dry cleaning service, and quite honestly, it was not the best. By far, the worst in the South Bay. I found what appeared to be dog hairs on my dresses?!? My dresses felt and looked as if they were not fully cleaned and smelled a bit funky. Louie's was my go-to place to hem my clothing articles, but never will I use them to dry clean my items, ever again. Be careful and reconsider. read more

This so-called business stole very expensive rugs from me. The owner claimed that he gave them to another cleaners without my consent. After three weeks of blatantly ignoring my requests for follow ups as to the status, he still did not produce the rugs--cleaned or uncleaned. Frankly, the owner is too immature to be in business and will never get my business again. read more
