I tried reaching out multiple times and unfortunately had a very frustrating experience. The business is almost never open during the hours listed, and getting a response by phone feels nearly impossible. Calls go unanswered, and there's no follow-up or communication. It's disappointing because reliability and basic responsiveness are the bare minimum for any business. If you advertise that you're open, customers should be able to actually reach you or expect a call back. Would not recommend based on the lack of availability and communication alone. read more

I've been a 20 year customer and today the unacceptable happened. New jeans, just purchased, never worn left to be hemmed a week ago. When picked up, the jeans were wrinkled as if they had been washed and when I got home, I noticed stains that were not there when purchased. They also smelled strangely. Mr John denied any knowledge and offered to take the jeans to the cleaners. Said maybe a kid touched them or something. He didn't offer to refund my money! Trust forever lost! I can't believe the tens of thousands of times(literally) I've driven past this place and never noticed it existed. If it wasn't for a fellow Yelper dear to my heart, I'd never have stopped here. I'd been going to an alteration place on Redondo Beach Blvd. that had relocated from its original spot by the Carl's Jr. down the road next to a karate school. The lady who ran the previous location was really nice and prices were really reasonable. After the move, I didn't see her and prices had gone up dramatically. I was looking for a new place that did quality work at reasonable prices. I had 2 pairs of jeans to hem and needed one of them the next day. He looked at them and said no problem. Not even an extra charge for a rush job. I told him I was in no hurry for the second pair but he said he'd have them both done. This was about 2:15 Tuesday. I called the next day around 12:30 to ask when I could pick them up. He had already finished. I swung by a few hours later and was only charged $16 for both. I think $8 a pair for hemming is pretty darn fair, especially for next day service. He made some suggestions about doing some alterations since the company has apparently started cutting the pants differently and he knew they would be too baggy. I'll have to bring them back and have him do a touch up. John (I assume that's actually his name) is extremely helpful and patient. I look forward to having him alter a few more items. A little suggestion about parking. The shop is located on a very narrow street which is fairly busy. To prevent getting sideswiped, I'd recommend that you park as close to the curb as possible. Two cars cannot pass at the same time if a car is parked on either side. If you want to avoid the problem completely, there is free parking in a city lot 1 block north across from the post office. If I was driving an expensive car or wide truck/SUV, I'd consider doing that but that's just me. read more

A bug bite hole on the shoulder, try to repair the suit, I asked if I should go reweaving, being told he can make this hole almost invisible, reweaving is unnecessary. also, bring a belt to put 2 more holes on it. here I have attached the results! read more

I digress a bit here but I once sold advertising for a yellow page company back in the mid-2000s and happened upon this place that had recently opened. Fast forward over 10 years later and I had a couple of blazers that needed to be tailored. My dilemma was that I needed them done quickly for a reunion event that I was attending. I remembered this small business so I took them in and was greeted by John who was in the middle of an alteration. He had me put on the jackets and very meticulously and carefully pinned the area where they needed to be taken in. Not only did he get them done on time but these blazers were perfectly tailored to my body. I cannot comment enough on how impressed I was with his handwork, professionalism, courtesy, and overall expert workmanship. This man definitely knows his craft! read more

I've lived in Gardena my entire life and have been in search of a good tailor that I'm impressed with. I've been to some decent places and some okay places in Torrance. John is the MAN...The Tailor Man!!! I can't believe that it took me this long to find him; better late than never! I brought in 3 pairs of hybrid swim shorts (2 Travis Mathew/ 1 Volcom) retail is over $150...I needed the waist of all three shorts made smaller. John fit me with my favorite pair and made sure that the sizing was what I wanted. I needed them for a road trip that was coming up and he was able to get them done just in time. When I picked them up, the fit was PERFECT and I couldn't even tell where he made the changes! $12 per pair to get fitted and they were like brand new shorts! Broght it in to Mr. John and ge was so kind, understanding, had the BEST customer service!! He fixed my dads hoodie like I had never touched it!!
