Came here on a Friday night at 5:30 PM. We had made reservations beforehand so kudos to Maxwells for taking reservations for a Friday ! Our waitress was quick and witty. We all ordered the fish fry with different sides. The sides are a large portion and the fish fry is two pieces of cod. I ordered white Zinfandel since they didn't have Prosecco which I was disappointed about. Bill for four people who had four fish fry's and 5 drinks total came to $114.

I had a meal here many years ago while in town and enjoyed it. Recently I had the opportunity to…read morereturn. St. Paul Fish Market is located inside the very busy and popular Milwaukee Public Market indoor shopping complex downtown. It reminds me of the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle. The only parking option that I am aware of is metered street parking. The building has 2 levels but the 1st floor is where most of the business are. It appeared to me that St. Paul's is the most popular business there. It is a seafood restaurant and fresh fish market. They have a small sit down area for table service dining or you can order your food to go at the counter. After being seated and reviewing the menu I decided to order the same meal I had over 11 years ago. I went with a bowl of clam chowder for $8 to start and then added a fried grouper sandwich ($16) with french fries for another $2.50. The chowder was perfect. Flavorful, delicious and I wanted more (5). The sandwich also was delicious and satisfying made with quality fish, lettuce, tomato, and bread. However while it tasted very good halfway through eating it the bread bun started to disintegrate and then quickly turned to mush before I could finish. Then I needed a fork to finish it. It got messy and I don't like that in a sandwich. It's only for that reason I give an overall 4 score instead of a 5. The french fries were very good tasting too but I had ordered too much food and only had room for a few of them. The table service was very warm and friendly. I believe St. Paul's is a very good choice for a casual seafood meal but please buy more sturdy buns!

We were there for happy hour, which had great deals on their popular drinks and all apps! I love their margarita and the fried calamari was delicious. The sauce they serve with many dishes is so incredible!! We were seated promptly, and within a minute or so our waiter introduced himself. Since we'd already looked at the menu, we placed our order right away. We all started with a cup of clam chowder. It came out warm, creamy, and comforting--definitely something I could see myself enjoying even more once the weather cools down. For our main course, we all went with the fish fry. I chose the grouper, while my parents went with the cod. The fish fry was decent overall. My grouper came out piping hot, and I really liked the breading, but as a table we left feeling a bit underwhelmed. Maybe I should have gone with my other choice--the ahi tuna sandwich. All in all, I'd give the meal itself a solid 3 stars. It wasn't the best fish fry I've had, but I wouldn't write the place off. Next time, I'd like to come back and try one of their non-fried options

I was certainly surprised how big this place was - tons of seating at the sprawling bar, big booths, low tops, and on the patio. The hostess wasn't the friendliest gal around, but she did get us quickly seated. Our server however was super sweet and attentive! She kindly took the order for our kiddos first, as they were starving and ready to eat. We split an order of the mac n cheese for them and let me tell ya that was plenty! A big skilled came out filled with cavatappi-style noodles, lathered in a cheesey sauce. We also got them honey glazed carrots and applesauce as sides. Needless to say, it was all demolished by our little guys. I had a glad of the pinot noir which was delightful, and hit the spot on a crisp fall afternoon. As for ordering dinner, that was a tough one because they have quite the variety of good options. In the end I chose the mahi mahi tacos - great pick. Another very generous portion. Three massive tacos with very good size fish pieces in each. They were blackened and topped with a spicy pico salsa of sorts. My head was bigger than my stomach attempting to eat them all, because they really were tasty. My husband went with the crispy chicken sandwich and said he'd wished it came with a sauce, as it was fairly dry, but he ate it nonetheless. Prices here are a tad on the high side imo, but there are plenty of good selections for both food & drink. I think my fave thing about this restaurant was that it's all open-air, with the huge garage doors opening up to face the boats. Such welcoming vibes, especially this time of year!

Sat at a table by the window for at least 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged. A different waitress took our order and the service from her was great. The food was terrible. The root beer tasted like soap. I ordered the Rueben which was super greasy and fatty but had no flavor. My husband ordered the fiesta shrimp bowl. The rice tasted like any Zatarains boxed rice dish and the shrimp were very over seasoned. The beer cheese that was served with pretzel was broken and had a weird texture. The sweet potato tater tots were served ice cold. I doubt we will ever go back which is unfortunate because we did enjoy the view sitting by the marina.

The atmosphere and decor are warm, moody, and cozy as one would expect from a British pub. Prices are decent for the Brady area. The scotch eggs were good. Small and delicious bites of protein goodness. My favorite thing was the fish fry/fish and chips. The fish was the best part because it was flaky with a light, crispy batter. Now there are two things that didn't go well. The first is the Lancashire hotpot. Traditional ones are supposed to have thin potatoes all covered over the top. This one only had a few on the side. See the picture below. The menu even said "topped with potatoes." The stew itself just tasted like ground beef in beef broth. It was sad. Service was not good. Our server never checked on us the whole night after taking our order. We couldn't get any drink refills and had to flag down a different server to close out our order. I generally enjoy British food and will come back to give them another chance. I would order different things next time, though.

This restaurant sits in the Mequon Public Market and legitimately has better fried fish (and chips) than St. Paul Fish Market just across the parking lot, as crazy as that sounds. The batter is light but crispy, and there's a generous cut of fish under the relatively "fluffy" exterior and the fries were fresh and awesome. They also have a respectable beer selection, plus some good cocktails on offer. We were acknowledged and never ignored by staff even though there's an option to order everything through a QR code on the table. The manager stopped by a few times to check on us before it got overly busy, which was also nice. I'm excited to come back here and enjoy the patio when it warms up.
