The bun is away fresh, but, with a single burger, it's a little too much bun from my perspective. (3 1/2 stars). Next time I'll try one of Hefner's specialty burgers. I especially like Hefner's custard and shakes. (4 1/2 stars) For me, it's always the flavor of the day or vanilla. I love the vibe of this place, and while there, it's fun to drop some quarters in the pinball machines and play a few games. Takes me back to a simpler time, before video games. I also love that Hefner's employs mostly teenagers. It seems like a great place to work and develop teenage friendships. Probably the first job for many of these kids. Hefner's recently installed a Toast Point of Sale system. The teenagers will love this new POS as it will help generate more tips. Hefner's is a great local place to hang out; get some pretty good food that is reasonably priced. It's fun. Let's continue to give them our support as a local landmark.

It's always consistently good and it's still warm after my 20 minute drive home. They use a less common noodle that is quite large and the portion is generous too. The other menu item I'm always to is the shake of the week. They always have a different one and they're always good. Oh, and I have to mention their salads. Not for me, but my mother likes them as much a salad she gets anywhere else. Another thing I appreciate is the fact they have an app. An app for a local place isn't common in my experience. This makes it easy to order in advance so you can skip the line, skip the phone call and better still earn rewards. Finally, I have to commend a few of the guys who work here. Two gentlemen in particular who both are always pleasant and personable, which alone is commendable, but they've also both been there a few years. They both seem to be managers, but I'm not sure, though I wanted to recognize them. Both are older than the general staff and both are there various weekdays.

The mozzarella sticks are generic and taste like the kind you can get from Arby's or Walmart's hot deli bar. The cheese curds were also generic, but good. Both are cheap price wise compared to other restaurants, but you subsequently don't get a ton of curds given the low price. Six mozzarella sticks wasn't unreasonable. The cheeseburger was ok. It didn't have much, if any, seasoning, but at least had some char flavor. The fries weren't very crispy and were both bland and unsalted. The beer battered haddock (which I sadly forgot to take a picture of) only had two pieces for $15 and was some of the most disappointing fish I've had. I didn't care for the flavor of the breading and it was overcooked, so the breading was slightly burned and the fish was dry. The potato pancakes consisted of five or six small hashbrown circles. Though small, they were good. They were quite busy inside while we were there, so it took about 45 minutes to get our appetizers and an hour to get our entrees. The patio area is nice and offers shade in the evening. It was a cool night temperature wise, so a pleasant experience during our long wait. The inside was loud and the dining area isn't huge so I'm glad we sat outside.

We went in to try breakfast today. So fun! The weather was perfect on the patio. The service was awesome! The girl who helped us was so sweet. My breakfast sandwich was delicious, I got it on a bagel with turkey sausage (which not everyone has!) and hollandaise, which she said was homemade. Yum! We also tried a chocolate chip muffin which was also delicious. The coffee was very good and they refilled it in a to-go cup for me on my way out. We'll definitely come back! read more
