The guys who run the business are very very (very?) polite and flexible to accommodate any need .. especially line drying or mild drier. They pick up always on time and they deliver on time. The service is seamless. For all of us who cannot have washer and drier in our apartment (ahem most nyc) instead of going down to some dodgy dirty basement of your building and spending time to load and unload.. small talk w neighbors and all the other time consuming useless activities.. you just send your dirty laundry out and it can be back to you clean in 24hrs.. A medium is 4.25 and a Large 6.00 & XL is $8. I used a 2.75 and 4.25. I turn my washers to HOT. I went to put water in and touched the water it was COLD. I asked the employee he said there was no hot water and they haven't had hot water in a while. I was absolutely appalled. I asked him if he had a sign up. He then shows me a sign . One of my had no water . It went through the whole was cycle and my clothes were dry. Another man told me that this location is cheap with water and has to go to their bathroom and fill his container up with water. WHAT A SHAME ! With that being said I will no longer be coming here . My clothes always come back in perfect order, nicely folded and they text when your order is ready with their hours of operation (They're closed Thursdays and Sundays). The employees are kind & professional- the storefront is small and packed with laundry from their loyal customers. Tips are always appreciated, and if someone is already inside dropping off or picking up, wait for them to come out before you go in. Just a little common courtesy to help things run smoother. :-)

This review is for self-service…read more SO, I decided to try out other neighborhood options after going to the same chain laundromat off Fulton Street for years. My first impression was not promising given that the hours weren't posted anywhere I could see online and upon calling Three Stars found that information impossible to extract. More on that later. I was (sort of) told that it wouldn't be too busy around opening time at 8am. I got there a little after 9am and there were still a lot of available washers, but man, this is a tiny place. It uses coin-operated machines, and it felt like there were seriously like 8 dryers. (Maybe there are 10? At least 3 "out of order"?) I started composing a Yelp review as I did my laundry, "If you consider doing laundry to be a competitive sport, then 'Three Stars' is like qualifying for some Olympics..." You will definitely bump into everyone in the place at least once while you vie for a machine. Practice your politeness and "excuse me" with a half-smile before attempting to come here. There are definite communication barriers with the staff, even for simple requests (sorry! it has to be said!), and there will be people who hog the laundry carts (empty) while you pay relatively the same prices as the chain laundromat ($4 for small, $6 for large). What are the positives? The machines were awesome (and I never use the word) because my white cotton duvet cover came out bright and clean like never before. All the machines seemed to be super clean as I saw the staff actively wiping them down while I was there. I definitely paid $1.00 for the dryer (and 28 minutes), but it dried my duvet cover and a full size sheet set, including flat sheet and pillow sham, completely within that time. At the mega-chain, I would have easily spent about 45 minutes drying and still not get them that dry. Would I go back? Yes, possibly, if I could figure out an off-hour to go (within their limited business hours). Time to start gathering all my quarters like the good (bad) old days and say goodbye, plastic laundry card.

However, I've had problems with designer jeans I've had hemmed there. Firstly, they usually hem the jeans shorter than I ask. Usually about a half inch. But sometimes more. Lately, the hem lines have been terribly erratic as well, as evidenced by my photo. I'll probably give the cleaners on the corner a shot. For a hemming job that probably takes 5 minutes and demands $10, they could at least sew the hem line straight.

When I picked up my laundry and unpacked it the next day, I found my favorite ankle length cream cardigan sweater turned to pink. I immediately went to the laundromat and spoke to the guy who did my laundry. Due to the language barrier, he couldn't understand the severity of the issue, so I asked him to please call the owner. When I spoke to the owner and tried to explain the issue, he stated that they are not responsible for color damages, which this is not stated anywhere in the laundromat. He was combative & tried to place the blame on me, when I left my clothes in their care. I NEVER had any issues with my laundry in the past 11 years that I have been coming to this place, until now. The owner didn't try to rectify the situation & when I stated that I was going to make a formal complaint with the city, he said "go ahead and that he didn't care." After going home completely upset, I decided to go through the remainder of my laundry, and found 11 more items completely pink and RUINED!! All of my creams, whites, grays, lavenders, & mint colored items were completely ruined in a bubble gum or blush pink color. DO NOT GO TO THIS LAUDROMAT, unless you are washing your clothes yourself. They have horrible service, and will not take accountability for their mistakes and gaslight you into thinking it was your fault. There isn't any good customer service here.

They gave an excuse and I told them I had spoken to the owner about this and was assured it would be ok. After some push back, they agreed to fix it. The "fixed" result is honestly terrible. It was an $160 dress and I feel crushed. I was so excited to wear it on a big trip. Since I was forced to pay cash (apparently all tailoring work there is in cash), I can't even go to my credit card to try to recover the cost of the terrible job.
