Delicious, Delicious, Delicious! My mom had told me this is her and my Dads favorite breakfast spot and I understand why! The wait was quite a bit since they were packed due to the snow birds being in town but the food was worth it! The restaurant was clean and nice. The portions are HUGE! My pancakes lasted me 3 days of breakfast and the grits were good. The waitress was even nice enough to make the hot chocolate with milk for me and it was good! I definitely recommend coming here if you haven't already!

Went here for lunch recently with a church friend who lives in a retirement facility nearby. Even though his facility includes top-notch meals in a beautiful dining room, he comes here occasionally and I can see now why. The interior, although a bit cramped, is bright and clean and the servers are very efficient and courteous. Our sandwiches arrived quickly and they were delicious. I hope my friend suggests we go here again the next time I visit.

The service was impeccable. Mariana was attentive and incredibly kind! The food was delicious and the portions were generous for the prices (hard to find these days). The restaurant was cozy and reminiscent of a diner with tables lined on either side of the restaurant. There is outdoor seating as well as ample parking. I will be returning if I'm ever in town :) sn: the homestyle potatoes had the most amazing crispy parts, please get them.

This was a family-owned restaurant that served breakfast and lunch dishes. The tables were very close together, so it was tight to move around. The service was friendly, and the food came out in a timely manner. I ordered the cobb salad ($15.99). I opted for blackened chicken. It came with romaine lettuce, avocado, blue cheese, bacon, pickled red onions, tomato, hard boiled egg and a green goddess dressing. This was great. This was a good-sized salad with a ton of all of the filing. The chicken was cooked to my liking while the green goddess dressing was tasty. I do not remember ever having this type of dressing with a cobb, but it worked well. It also seemed like all of the ingredients were very fresh. I also tried the chocolate chip pancakes. A pancake was large and appetizing. I really enjoyed how the chips melted right into the pancake. I also tried the orzo salad and it was okay. Something seemed off. It might have been the shredded cheese on top. It was not needed at all. Will I go back? No doubt.

this place is a great spot in Osprey Florida. Went here with my mom for a brunch and I got the lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes, not pictured, but she got their biscuit with egg cheese and bacon and she really enjoyed it. The servers are very friendly here and the service is quick and efficient. The bathroom is clean. They have a nice outdoor seating area that is covered so the sun is not beaming down your face, a great spot for brunch.

Delicious low key breakfast place. My family enjoyed Nutella pancakes, Mediterranean chicken wrap, eggs and bacon, and biscuits! Our server was kind and helpful. The restaurant has a family feel and the food is excellent. They have some gluten free options as well. We will certainly be back- and prices were very reasonable!

It's official, I've found my new local brunch spot. We came to Max's Table on a complete whim after a friend that had just had breakfast there recommended them to us. I'm thankful that I managed to roll out of bed and get over there before their 2:30 closing time because this is definitely a holy grail (and hidden gem I might add?) of breakfast/lunch restaurants. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and for a Sunday, the wait was only about 15 minutes which wasn't bad. Our server was extremely friendly and I was glad to see that all employees were properly wearing their masks. Food came out in a timely manner and was both well priced and delicious. Their menu consists of various breakfast items (pancakes, french toast, omelettes, bagels, etc) and lunch items (salads, burgers, sandwiches, soups). Being as it was a Sunday morning, I settled on the Crunchy French Toast with a side of home fries. Honestly, I was sad when I realized I had eaten it all because it was just SO good. The french toast had fresh berries on it as well as a caramel sauce and while it was crunchy, it had a fluffiness to it making it just perfect. Can't wait to come back here and try some of the other things on the menu. 5/5 highly recommend. read more

A definite stop for anyone !! Lunch or breakfast or BOTH LOL. We were a big party and they attended us quickly and efficiently. FOOD IS AMAZING! Everything at Max's table is absolutely delicious!! First visit we went for lunch and had the blackened Mahi fish tacos with crunchy slaw and French fries very good. The homey atmosphere was what made us return the following day for breakfast before hitting the road back home. ALL the servers and host are the sweetest. My favorite thing about the restaurant was how kind hearted everyone is !! Day two breakfast I had the lemon/ blueberry ricotta pancakes ! Warm and delicious MUST HAVE. The avocado toast and crispy home fries were also very good. Javi the GM treated us to the crunchy French toast before we left . Terrible experience all the way around at Max's Table. After being seated, we waited 20 minutes before we were greeted by a server who acted like she was doing us a favor to take our order for coffee. 20 Minutes! After we finally got coffee we had to wait another 10 minutes to place our order. There were four of us and we all ordered something different. After we ordered, we waited another 35 minutes for our food. It wasn't that busy and it was just breakfast. The food was awful. Don't even think about that corned beef hash. I took two bites and pushed my plate away. The server never came around to ask if the food was okay. It was not. It was just as bad as the service. What a disappointment this place was. We arrived at 9:00 and left at 10:45. That's ridiculous. There are too many other places to spend my money. Our morning was shot waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting. Not sure which was worse--the service or the food. I will not be back. Sub-par everything. read more

I never went inside. We were offered a wonderful outdoor table as soon as we walked up and we took it. Hubby got an omelet and biscuit & gravy, which was one of the first times he's actually liked his gravy. The biscuit looked delicious. I ordered the combo with Nutella pancakes. All was delicious...and our server brought us a to-go cup of coffee with our checks! I've never had that before but it was a very welcomed gesture for my husband who lives on coffee to sum up: ambiance and service were top notch, food excellent. Highly recommend. read more

What a cute little place! But don't let that fool ya, they make some serious food here. I had whiplash from looking at all of the amazing food coming out of that kitchen, destined for hungry bellies...I'm embarrassed to say that all I had were eggs and grits- but they were delicious, garlic-cheese grits and my eggs were cooked well and I'll be back to try that salad that went past me and that french toast - oh my! A really popular spot and for good reason: nice service and good food in good portions at reasonable prices - amazing! read more

This is one of our hidden GEM's. I eat at this quaint place 2-3 times a week and have for years Since they opened. NEVER have I had a bad meal. Always leave feeling Great! Staff is awesome! We went on a Sunday morning as a last minute decision. I discovered I could get on the waitlist online. At first, I didn't have a wait at all and was unable to reserve a spot. On the way to the restaurant, I was able to reserve with two people in front of us. Which I found odd because I've seen the crowds waiting outside which intrigued me to try Max's in the first place. Long story short, there was a problem with the app, yet the restaurant handled it beautifully, professionally and with courtesy seating everyone as quickly as they could. Another review stated that there is a church next-door so Sundays might be crowded. They are, but they're crowded everyday but closed on Mondays. And as hard as the staff works, they certainly deserve a day off! Now the food... Absolutely outstanding! I had the Benedict Florentine-a very generous portion, with superior quality and fresh ingredients. My fiancé had the ham and cheese omelette. It was fluffy and light with cubes of ham, and delicious Swiss cheese. The home fries are delicious. Fresh homemade tasting bread, we didn't ask if it was made on the premises. We highly recommend this place. You will not be sorry. But wait there's more...they serve breakfast and lunch and breakfast is available all day long! My favorite meal of the day. read more

In addition to caffeinated beverages and bakery items, they have an impressive menu of sandwiches and lunch items. We kept things simple by ordering an iced cafe mocha, a dark roast coffee, and a chocolate croissant. You can tell they use high quality ingredients since the iced cafe mocha had chocolate flakes in them, but somehow managed to accent the beverage perfectly without making it too sweet. The chocolate croissant tasted absolutely delicious and had a wonderful chocolate filling inside unlike most traditional recipes...we both agreed it was great and tasty. The owner mentioned she gets her croissants from Europe and does the filling and final baking on premises to serve it hot. I'm not aware of any bakeries that go to all that trouble, but it makes for a high quality product. All in all, an excellent coffee and pastry experience at By The Bay Bistro...it's a place I hope to return to and would recommend to others visiting the Venice, Florida area.

Our server took our drink and food orders promptly, but we later had to flag her down for refills and extra napkins. What We Ordered * Chef's Ceviche: Octopus with lime juice, tomato, cucumber, red onion, cilantro, garlic, jalapeño, olive oil, and avocado, served with tortilla chips. * Harbour Island Bahama Mama: A half-pound burger topped with pineapple, mozzarella, and teriyaki, served on a toasted brioche bun with lettuce and tomato. * Maine Lobster Roll: Lobster with tarragon aioli, mixed greens, and tomato on a brioche roll, served with a side salad. Food and Overall Experience The Chef's Ceviche was fresh but unremarkable, and the portion felt small. The burger, however, was excellent--cooked perfectly to medium-rare, with the pineapple adding a flavorful twist that elevated the dish. The coleslaw and lobster roll were both good, though neither stood out. The side salad was fresh and satisfying. Overall, the burger was the clear highlight of the meal. Fortunately, we were promptly seated despite the chilly weather, opting for an outdoor spot. The service immediately impressed us; our waitress was attentive and helpful throughout our meal. As for the food, it certainly met our expectations in terms of quality. I indulged in the chorizo quiche special, which was served with toast and fruit. It was undeniably delicious. My partner opted for the Breakfast Burrito, filled with spicy chorizo, scrambled eggs, caramelized onion, and peppers. It was also enjoyable, but neither dish left us floored. While the food was undeniably good, we couldn't quite grasp the fervor surrounding Max's Table. The quality was excellent, and the service was top-notch. However, the dishes we ordered, while tasty, didn't quite reach the level of extraordinary we were expecting. Thinking about it, you should have a stand out breakfast to start your day. A neighborhood fixture in Osprey, breakfast is the big draw and this place certainly shines. Important to note, Max's serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch until 2 PM. Everything we've had on the menu is very good , including the delicious omelettes that I typically eat. My favorite is the omelette with ham, Swiss cheese, mushrooms and spinach. This omelette has the perfect ratio of ingredients and the pieces of ham and the mushrooms are cut to the proper size. For my side dish I like their house potatoes. Lately instead of toast I've been ordering their homemade biscuits, they're excellent. Max's is clearly one of Osprey Florida's great American breakfast destinations. Salute! read more

Best breakfast in town. My family has been waiting for a place like this. Max's table is family owned and operated and it feels like it. I'm working my way through the menu and I've been crazy about each dish. The pancakes, huevos rancheros, patty melt, gyro, eggs benedict, and bacon have all been excellent. The kitchen really has their act together and it's obvious they want patrons to come back. The staff up front has made our brunch experience super comfortable with a welcoming and energetic vibe. Been here A LOT! Lemon ricotta pancakes are awesome. My son loves the fresh biscuits and the cheese grits are good. My other son loved the Belgium waffles and Nutella pancakes. Service has always been good. on weekends you will wait a while for a table if more than 2 people in your party. I like being outside when I'm in Fla but sitting on their patio you are right next to the parking lot and Tamiami trail. Won't stop us from going back though. I'd say it's the best breakfast place by far. Beats first watch and others in the area hands down. read more

I like this place for breakfast as there are not too many options available for me around where I live. It is a nice atmosphere, trendy industrial feel inside and the chef offers up some nicely prepared meals. Family owned and operated. They have a friendly wait staff. You have to get there early though because they fill up fast for breakfast on the weekends. I'm glad these guys finally opened up in my neighborhood. read more
