My meal at this place was very good, but ended up being ruined by rain while sitting outside :( The service was very good though and rushed to get our check before we got soaked. We started off with the calamari and zucchini, which was really good. For my main dish, I had the shrimp tacos, which I thought were pretty good, but man were they messy. They really overstuffed the tiny shells with too much. I ended up having to dump them out and eat it like a bowl with a fork, kind of. Very tasty, just a huge mess and not what I was hoping for. I was so excited to come back to Max's as I always loved it. Previously they were in Weston and Plantation unfortunately not any longer. This location I had eaten at but not for some time now. We arrived on a busy Saturday night and luckily were seated right away outside as it was a lovely night out. They even had a heater on but it wasn't really needed. Our server JP was the best he was very attentive as well as informative so he gets a 5. Sadly the food was not as good as I remembered so it was a 3 at best. We started with drinks and JP said the bar was backed up and brought us water in the meantime. When they did arrive they were good. The appetizer fried zucchini and calamari was too salty and we didn't finish as it wasn't good. My husband had the meatloaf for his entree I had some it had a sweet sauce on top not as good as what I make at home. I had the grilled octopus that was an appetizer for my entree it was odd as I received the whole tentacle. Never had it this way the portion was very large probably a half pound was ok,but not great I would never order again here. I ended with a sambuca as the rest of the food was not great I got dessert elsewhere. Maybe next time we will just come for lunch instead. read more

I visisted last week for lunch on a rainy afternoon. They seem to follow Covid protocals but lacked on food and service. I ordered the mahi sandwich which to me seemed like more bread than fish and it looked like they didnt have enough fries because there portions were very scimpy. My friend ordered the chicken philly sandwich which was missing enough chicken. I dont mind paying high prices but please let it be worth it. The server seemed very unexperienced and confused. We have been coming here for years, mostly to watch Alex Fox, but also on other occasions. I have to say the food, service, and also the drinks have always been 5 star. However this last time only the food was excellent. Swordfish was great, so were the Brussels sprouts, and the salmon salad. All spot on. However, the margaritas were average, and the mojitos were the worst ever. Service was barely okay. The menus handed out to me had little pieces of food on them. Me and a friend came to Maxs for brunch. Her suggestion. They have a "drink all day" promo for a flat fee which includes mimosas, Bellinis, bloodys and a few beers. I love the option to switch from mimosas to beer as I really only can have a few Mims and I was really excited. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside. I hadn't seen this friend in awhile so we were ready to drink and enjoy the day catching up. The waiter took our order and I got the lump crab Benedict and my friend got a ham and cheese omelet. The food wasn't bad but the texture was off. The crab benny is crab meat on top of avocado sitting on an English muffin with hollandaise. The whole thing was just kinda mushy. After a couple mims/Bellinis I asked about the beer options and he read off a couple that were available. I picked a blue moon and my friend got an IPA. When he came back he said the didn't have anymore blue moon just floridian so he got me an IPA. I hate IPAs so we kept it at the table and I asked for a floridian. I was a little perturbed he decided for me but whatever. Then when I asked for another beer he was about to take a glass I had a good 1/2 of a drink left in. I most ripped that boys arm off. Not many things get me fired up but don't come between me and my brunch bevs. The server seemed annoyed we were still there drinking and taking up his table he dropped the check without us asking and then came and checked on it even though we didn't pay yet. With all the options locally this is probably a 1 stop brunch for me. read more

Doesn't get any better. A perfectly seasoned and cooked 24 oz Porterhouse, chimichurri, Mojo Yuca chips, onion and cilantro rice.. to die for. But this next dish was a killer. Blackened Branzino!!! ...I am not a chef but I can cook. What they did with the Branzino was phenomenal. Just the right amount of spices and seasonings while highlighting the soft natural taste of a delicate fish and cooked perfectly. The tomato and avocado light sauce and the Orzo was a perfect combination. The service was outstanding and a great wine selection. read more

Came here for a post-work happy hour with Michelle. She's amazing and I would definitely recommend coming here to visit her on the patio bar during happy hour! We got assorted drinks, vodka tonics, wine and some mixed cocktails and they were all delicious and perfectly crafted. We ordered the burrata, Brussels sprouts and the wings off of the appetizer menu and they all came cooked perfectly. The heirloom tomatoes on the burrata were delicious and I can't say enough about the Brussels sprouts appetizer. I would definitely order them again. read more

I reserved a dinner time here a couple days in advance for a birthday celebration and it turned out to be the perfect spot. I'm glad I reserved because by around 7 on a Saturday night there was a line out the door. The inside is beautiful and the decorations created a great ambiance. There's no specific cuisine that this place has and they also have plentiful vegan options which makes it a unique location that can please everybody. The vegan guacamole elote was delicious and lived up to the hype. I also ordered the vegetable stir fry which was pretty good. They accommodated a special request and put a birthday candle in a mango sorbet to make a vegan "birthday cake". I would recommend for a fun celebration! read more

This is quite the scene. Food is excellent and particularly love some of the healthier menu options such as zucchini " noodles" with quinoa veggie meatballs or the chicken lettuce wraps. Service is good. Definitely make a reservation. Skip dessert there and walk around the square for a treat ( lots of options there). Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

We just had dinner at Max's this evening. The food was mediocre at best. The evening special of roast chicken was a complete disaster. It was salt encrusted and dry as a piece of Terry cloth. Several others in our party had the salmon. They remarked it was just OK. Really need to fix the menu and the offerings. Would not recommend going to Max's Grille when there are so many other decent places to go in Boca and the immediate Mizner area. read more

I really like it here. We sit outside for lunch every time we're in town. I love the 1/2 salad & 1/2 tuna sandwich. Ok, it's not fine dining, yet I've never heard anyone at the table ever complain about anything (and I run with a ball busting 90 year old crowd).
