This was my first time visiting this salon. I used to live in the Addison area and had a nail salon that I enjoyed going to. It's so hard to find a good nail salon so based on the majority of the reviews, I decided to try this place out. The salon is clean and inviting, I noticed Wednesday after work (5ish) is a light crowd & I was seen right away. I noticed there was a nice sized bar but I wasn't offered a drink (not sure what the protocol is, since it's my first time here) For my nails, I got an acrylic fill & gel polish. As you can see from the pictures the nails look okay but not great. The acrylic is very thick (keep in mind I don't have on false nails) which is really unflattering. Also some of my fingernails are uneven in terms of the shape. It's not super obvious from afar but when I look closeup I can see the discrepancies. Overall my experience was alright.
This nail salon was recommended to me a while ago and Ive been coming here for dip nails for the past few months! Every time they come out beautiful and the experience feels extra-luxurious because of their lavish atmosphere with mood lighting and full bar. The last few times Ive seen Ivy (who is on vacation right now) she is so sweet and always does an amazing job! I am definitely going to come see her again when she gets back! They always have lots of nail techs available so you don't have to make an appointment but If you want someone specific i would recommend an appointment. They have SO many color options and many different types of manicures/pedicures to choose from. Everyone is friendly, accommodating, professional, and very skilled at what they do. Plus you get a free drink with your service. (Which you of course get to drink out of a fancy glass with a fruit garnish) 10/10 would recommend
Waited over 20 minutes for a dip manicure when they said there wouldn't be a wait. I picked a light gray color (210 in their book of colors). I sit down and wait 20 minutes, then the woman starts to do my nails, and I notice that the lid of the color she's using is not 210. She says "oh this color is similar". But it was a yellowish white color. So she says she'll be right back, then she came back with another white. I said it looked too white. She said it was just the light and not to worry. Well, the nails are extremely white. Not the color I wanted at all. It's not the end of the world. The place is clean. But this isn't the first time I've gone in, asked for one color, and then gotten another one without them telling me. I will gladly pick another color if the one I want isn't available, don't be shady and just pick a different color and think I won't notice.
I love how Yelp works. I had some time after I flew in from Massachusetts to DFW. I was waiting on a family member to pick me up. I read the reviews on yelp about this nail salon and requested an appointment with Vivian. When I arrived to DFW airport, I took a short Lyft ride over to Maxiam Nail Salon. I had the best experience. Customer service was excellent, Ruby did my pedicure, which was amazing. I had the top-of-the-line pedicure and my feet feel new! Vivian did my nails and manicure. She was efficient, but paid attention to every detail. The experience was exceptional and I also enjoyed glass of white wine during the pampering. my fingernails and toenails look amazing and I couldn't be happier. Also, one should always be concerned about cleanliness of nail salons. Maxiam is very clean, they used liners on all tubs and sterilized equipment. Now if I could relocate them to Massachusetts. However, I plan to visit again on my next trip to DFW. Five star plus for this review.
I love Maxiam Nail Bar. I found them through recommendation, been going to them for about 1.5 years now. I travel a good 25m just to go to them. It's the only place where I know I could walk in and never worry about my nails. Only once did I have a nail tech that made my dip nail too thin and they all cracked. Michelle, Ivy, and Vivian have stood out to me doing a phenomenal job each time, never have any issues with roughness/pain. These last few times with Vivian my nails have literally not lifted/cracked and I'm ROUGH on them as an RN, and also been demo-ing our house. Three weeks and not one crack? She's a nail goddess. She also takes the time to help me decide on a color, the brown color in the photo I uploaded she mixed two browns for it because I couldn't find one. So patient and attentive. Everyone is friendly, sweet, and the complimentary drink is such a lovely touch that makes me feel like I'm treating myself to a little me time. Only complaint is on pricing. They recently started charging me $5+ for shaping, which I haven't changed the shape of my nails, and they have to file them anyway when you dip, so I'm not sure what the need for uncharge is. They used to only do that if I was going from one shape to another like almond to square or something. And I wasn't always charged for "take off + service" until recently. Also, I got french tip and I asked if we could do a thin white line to separate the color tip, and they were saying it was going to be an extra $15 just to add a thin white line between the colors? I don't really think the pricing makes sense all the time, but these last few times the quality is so impressive, because I do solid color most of the time anyway, 5/5.
Terrible ABSOLUTELY Terrible Customer Service! Will never go back AND will NOT Recommend this place! My daughter spilt her drink the the Nail Tech in the Green was doing her nails and throwing her Dirty looks the whole time. Talked to the Manager and they didn't do anything nor did they care. When you provide a service you need to provide Excellent Customer Service. This Place Gets an F!
I have been coming to Maxiam Nail Bar for YEARS and they never disappoint! I always come in with a specific color combination and request and they meet my vision every time! Management is kind, remembers my name, and checks in on me throughout the appointment. Ruby did my recent design and did a fantastic job! Leon also assisted and did the French tip dip! I can't brag on this place enough!!

I love this nail bar! First of all they have iced coffee! But the ladies are so nice. I do wish the colors on the pick out wall were organized by colors but that's my ocd talking. The pedicures are so good I even got a fun valentine design this time on my nails. Highly recommend read more

I had Mia do my nails and I loved the shape and how thing she kept them as gel dip! She is REALLY good at nail designs! I haven't had a pedicure here yet but the manicures have been great. read more

My nails usually look great when i leave but not this time. I asked for acrylic w/ gel. the nails were super bulky and looked terrible. I asked the tech if it was a way to make them look less bulky and first he told me that it looked bulky because my nail was curved (huh?), then he walked away and didn't come back. i had to go the manager and ask if it was anything she could do. she had the tech take off the gel and reapply. he explained that the reason they looked so thick was so the tip didn't break. I've seen gel tips not look thick but idk. He said i should've told him earlier that they were bulky. My thing is you could take one look at my nails and see how bad they looked. I've side eyed nails before then at the end the tech brings out the little machine and perfects them, this was not the case. He just left them looking horribly. My mom and sister went with me and their nails look great! and everyone was nice The pics are AFTER he redid them. Gel is everywhere, nails are crooked, it looks rushed. read more

Ivy and Taylor are the best! I actually went here a couple of time prior and had many so-so experiences- I'm always a little uncomfortable at nail salons, it's hard for me to tell someone I don't like the service lol. But now that I have found my dream team, I'm absolutely obsessed. Make appointments!!! They're soooo busy, especially at the end of the day, you might be waiting 1-2hrs if you walk-in. read more

My unbelievably bad service started 2 weeks ago when I went to this salon for a mani-pedi as a treat before going on vacation. During my manicure, my cuticles were cut so far back that 2 of my fingers bled and I had a lot of skin peel under each finger in the next week. The dip was very thick and looked terrible but I didn't want them doing anything else with my fingers. When I returned from my trip, I had to get the dip removed because by then it looked like a growth on my nails, was peeling off in places, and was snagging on everything as it peeled. Unfortunately, my nails are now worse than before. When I arrived for a quick polish removal, they sat me with my hands soaking in acetone for at least 20 min. until I asked for someone to come finish. Then the manager used an electric nail file to sanded the polish off along with a significant portion of my nail. This left my (normally incredibly strong nails) thin and weak. To cover that butcher job, the lady used toenail clippers to clip the tips off. I told the manager that I couldn't believe they were ok with me leaving the salon like this. I was heading to shop and couldn't have rough points on my nails or I'd snag everything. She just smiled and said they did the clip as a favor for free so I shouldn't expect them to also file the edges. I had to leave the shopping area to finish removing the polish myself and file the edges. This was 24 hours ago and I've had to cut my nails all the way down because they are so thin. Additionally the surface of my nails are uneven and rough and some of the dip is still there! I will have to grow my nails for months to recover from this horrible experience. If I could give zero stars I would. WILL NEVER GO BACK. read more

Kenny, If you read correctly I said I tip $20 for a job well done. I'm not a complete asshole,so yes this time I did only tip $10, because like I said it was horrible and lacked professionalism. I never once complained about Jimmy, I praised him. So now that this isn't so long maybe you can take your time and read carefully. Your response shows me why some of your employees are unprofessional. read more

S E R V I C E Absolutely amazing experience. I hesitate going to Nail Salons because of the "hidden costs" that they don't tell you about until it's time to pay. Not here. They have the little form you fill out, and they have almost like a menu with every charge listed out. I asked for a specific French Tip Ombre, and I wanted it to be acrylic. However, you cannot do the Ombre with acrylic nails. They were so nice to me and told me that another way to get the ombre without paying incredibly higher amount, was to do the dip. They provided great customer service, were incredibly helpful and informative. For that reason alone, I'd come back. My nail technicians were also amazing. I got a Manicure and a Pedicure. Absolutely amazing experience. N A I L S Erik is the one who did my manicure, I showed him the picture of what I wanted... and oh man did he deliver! I will be coming back and requesting him to do my nails. Absolutely amazing job. A M B I E N C E This is a perfect place to go and get pampered, have a friend date, just go and relax. They have delicious alcoholic COMPLIMENTARY drink menu. As well as a few paid ones. The place is nice and clean, and it seems like they take care of their equipment. I took a little break after having my munchkin but finally figured out that it makes more sense to go get my nails done rather than pretend I'm going to do them myself. I am very picky. I have gone through a few salons in the area and left unhappy. I first came here to repair a bad job I got elsewhere. Tommy fixed my nails and so I made an appointment for him for my next time. He rocked it! Sadly he has left since I had that appointment with him and my most recent. I ended up with Alyssa who also did an amazing job. She listened to what I wanted and even made an adjustment I asked for. From what I understand, all their techs do great! Tina has done my pedicure twice. She does amazing too and gives great massages that are actually the calf and feet and not just your shin bone. I think I may give Vivian a chance since I've read great things about her too. read more

I used to go here every few weeks pre-Covid, but nails are less of a necessity now. I probably go once every 2 months for a pedicure and manicure. I stopped going here because of the high prices especially after covid. I decided to go back because I wanted to get dip put on for a wedding, and they have always done a great job on that. I got a pedi as well. I got the deluxe dip, because the woman that was helping me could not tell me which one included a cuticle clean up, so I chose the more expensive one thinking it was surely included. It ended up coming with paraffin wax and a "massage" (not sure what I got could count as a massage, but not too upset about it). The nail tech finished my nails and then did the paraffin wax...it ended up messing up a nail, which she quickly fixed. I then noted that the clear layer on top looked messed up now. She said it was just the wax and would be okay after I washed my hands well. There was also a bunch of wax under my nails that was just left there.I should've washed my hands there and looked, but was in a hurry because I had to leave to travel to the wedding. Then she got up to work on another client. I went to pay. Just FYI they are no longer doing the 10% discount that is advertised here. The clear coat is definitely messed up and doesn't look great. I unfortunately didn't have time to go back before leaving for the wedding for a fix. For $60, I was pretty sad at how they turned out. I would think the paraffin wax would be done before the dip. The other tech cut my nail on my toe so short, it is below the quick. I asked if it was all okay because it was painful when he did it. He said yes it's all fine. I've been cut before and it happens. It wouldn't be anything I was upset about as long as they're honest. After he finished painting my toes. he put my slip on tennis shoes back on very quickly. I thought this was strange because usually they just give the flip flops if you have close toed shoes. I took my shoes off later when I got home, and my toe was bleeding because he had tried to cut it so short. You can see the blood even after I showered and washed my feet. I'm not sure how he did this, but I wish he would've just told me instead of shoving my foot back into my shoe. I was debating finding a new place due to the rising costs, and I think this visit has proved that it is time to move on. Definitely check all the work thoroughly before you leave and don't take their word for it that it is okay. read more

THIS PLACE! i got the ultimate maxiam pedicure. i can not express how excellent this place is. from the moment you walk in, you can tell that you're in an upscale salon. such an awesome experience! tammy took the best care of me. i can't wait to come back-in fact, i have already planned my next girl's day here! we started with a charcoal detox, there were two more treatments of jelly. i think it was eucalyptus and green tea. i got a hot stone massage, paraffin wax treatment, a treatment with collagen socks, callous removal, and a fab polish job to top it all off. i felt like i booked a spa day! i enjoyed two complimentary poinsettias while i got my treatment. it was absolutely fantastic! this place is now my new salon. this month, for grand opening, all treatments are 30% off. come in and get pampered! i'll be getting manicures for vacations, but pedicures are something that i get year round. so excited to return! read more

I have been coming here over and seeing Vivian for over two years. I can't say enough good things about her as she is my favorite! She knows what I like, how picky I am and remembers things about my personal life that we have talked about over the years. The managers, Mai and Taylor, always remember my name and are welcoming. I have been coming here since it opened up a few months ago. Taylor and Ann are awesome! I got matte the last time i went in and wasn't happy with the look and wanted shiny so they corrected my decision when i went back in. I had a nail crack and they fixed for me with no charge. Everyone is always so friendly. I have recommended a dozen friends here and they all loved their work. Included some pics of my nails. read more

I got a classic gel manicure and a classic pedicure with regular polish. The woman who did my manicure didn't do a very good job. It looks sloppy. She didn't even clean up the sides of my nails. Even if I got the classic they should still clean up your nails. The pedicure was okay. Another woman did that. She did a good job on my toes, but the extra stuff wasn't very good. She barely massaged my legs and used no pressure. It was like she didn't really want to do it. I won't return here again. read more
Sooo... This was just a random stop.. Because I desperately needed to get my nails done and I saw this salon on my way home.. To my surprise they are having a 30% off sale.. (Winning) right... I walk in.. Beautiful... Really lovely... The young lady at the front desk was really nice and helpful with questions I had about certain services... Wait to be seen wasn't long at all... I liked that they had the Dip powder choices in a books versus on rings... They legit have a bar in the salon and the drink was really good..i has the Maxiam something sunshine (lol) Ann was my technician... She was great... She did an AWESOME job with my nails... I went really bright for my vacation to Jamaica.. She was very attentive and took her time which I truly appreciated... I felt like an actual customer... I'll definitely be going back...
