Such a fun, yummy place! Always high energy dining areas. I love SO many things on the menu, but my favorite recently is the DING DONG CAKE! Oh my - if you ate and liked those Hostess Ding Dongs when you were a kid, you will LOVE this rich, but delicate version! Moist dark chocolate cake with layers of that FABULOUS CREAM that tastes just like the Hostess cream injection, but even creamer. The icing is smooth and delicious, definitely NOT like the hardened choc shell on the the little Hostess cakes. I have served this cake at parties, office gatherings, and a family birthday - everyone LOVES it and are amazed that it evokes the Hostess memory, then blows it away! You and your peeps will be happy with this one. PS - there's also a large Ding Dong cupcake that is equally delightful, and big/rich enough to share. read more

**5 stars!** This place is fantastic. The food is consistently fresh, the menu offers a great variety, and everything I've tried has been delicious. My only minor observation is that some dishes could use a bit more salt, but that's easy to fix at the table--it's much better than having food that's overly salty. The service is well above average. The waitstaff is friendly, attentive, and always checking in to make sure customers have everything they need, which makes for a great dining experience. The atmosphere feels like a classic New York deli with a bar, and it does a great job of capturing that style. My only complaint is the noise level. It's consistently so loud that it's difficult to have a conversation with the people at your table. Adding some sound-absorbing materials or making other changes to reduce the noise would make the experience even better. Overall, this is an excellent restaurant with consistently great food and outstanding service. I highly recommend it. read more

We tried out the new Max and Louie's diner today and I cannot wait to go back! The ambiance is adorable! The bar looks so nice and they have so many options (like espresso martinis on tap and I can't wait to try a sorbetto!) They have a whole bakery and ice cream shop, too! I got a REAL NY everything bagel (made with imported dough from New York!), coffee ice cream (SO GOOD!), and a gorgeous looking cupcake!!! Our waitress Stephanie was super nice and explained everything to us and helped us make choices because the menu is HUGE!!! A bus boy overheard us talking about the menu and came over to tell us what was in a dish AND how it got its name! SO friendly!!! My food was absolutely fantastic! The rye bread was perfect and the chips were amazing! I will say that my pickle (homemade!) was very fresh but a little too salty for my taste, but my friend loved hers! My husband had the turkey club and it was so big you could barely fit it in your mouth! The turkey was delicious and the bacon was plentiful and SUPER crispy! There was so much food that we all took home leftovers for the next day, so the price is totally worth it! I also got to try the coleslaw (yum!) and the potato salad (which is pretty good - I took it to go for later - but it didn't have a ton of flavor. Nice addition to the Cibilo food desert. Thankful to have a restaurant that is full-size and able to provide delicious food for the area. Indoor and outdoor dining is available. Located close to the Santiko theater makes it an easy spot to pick up a meal before or after a show. We popped by for brunch on a weekday. Thoroughly enjoyed our food. Server was efficient and knowledgeable. They seem to work well together as a staff. French toast and omelettes were delicious. My only disappointment was that they did not have 2% milk for my latte. There is a large meeting space that can be used for parties and events. Catering is done through the corporate office. There is also a bakery, coffee shop for to go items. read more

Long timer customers of the Bitters location in SAT so we were super pumped to come here. First, food. Spaghetti and meatballs. Good noodle texture. Infamous NY style tomato sauce. Meatballs were a bit mushy but still hearty and flavorful. My eggs were cooked exactly how I asked, and the chicken / french toast combo is hard to beat. But like any new place: The team is still definitely training up and getting a rhythm down so we were def understanding about their mishaps. I am saying this as we did have a mishap that the manager and our server handled very well. Our order was delayed for quite some time and they apologized, and comped us free fries or onion rings. We chose the onion rings, and super crispy/fresh/well coated. Other than that! Service, food, vibes, and decor is on point! We love that there's modern but familiar vibe from their other location. My first impression of this restaurant definitely gives off classic diner vibes! The music was extremely loud, and the tables were packed very close together. a couple that was being seated next to us actually asked for a different table because they felt it was too cramped. I guess that's part of the New York style experience! The customer service was fantastic. Both the hostess and our server were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our server gave us recommendations and made the overall dining experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to how good it looked. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and it had very little flavor. The onion rings were just okay. My daughter got the kidsmac and cheese, which was a huge portion, but it also lacked flavor. I was really disappointed because everything looked delicious when it came out. Maybe we just ordered the wrong items, but based on this visit, I'm not sure I'll be back. read more

My husband and 2 toddlers decided we'd eat out for breakfast. We arrived here about 7:45am on a Sunday and were sat immediately. It was definitely not crowded, just about less than half the tables were taken up while we were there. My husband and I shared some French toast and made it a "platter" to add the eggs and bacon. This is a newer location in the San Antonio area making this their third storefront/restaurant in the area. Service is just as exceptional. The location is so large with so much seating, I can't imagine ever being on a waiting list for too long. And the food!!! The food is greatly priced and just absolutely scrumptious! We checked this location out recently for brunch and it was ok. We had a large party and arrived at 9:45 on a Sunday morning. We were quoted 15-20 min. 40 min later the table was ready. The kids in our party ordered the pancakes, my dad had the eggs benedict and my mom and a turkey sandwich. It took us over an hour to get the food. I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese and a side of bacon. 30 min later the waitress came out and said they were out of everything bagels. No worries, I ordered a plain bagel. 10 min later she said they were out of plain bagels. So, I just canceled my order, after all that time, I ended up with a side of bacon. Not sure how you're a "New York deli" style restaurant and are out of bagels. Especially since the bagel and lox looked to be the most popular item. The pancakes were good. The turkey sandwich was huge. The eggs benedict was flavorful. All together, from the time we put our name on the list, to the time we checked out was 2 hours and 20 min. I know this is a new location, but clearly some issues to be worked out. read more

My Bestie and I visited Max and Luis for the first time and I loved it. It has a charming old-school diner atmosphere. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly by a very friendly server. Their menu is extensive I couldn't decide between ordering brunch or lunch or just go straight to dessert. I settled on the meatloaf sandwich with fries, my Bestie ordered a roast beef sandwich with fries. The portions are very generous. We only ate half of our sandwich and didn't even make a dent in our fries. My meatloaf was tender and juicy and flavorful. The homemade bread it was served on was delicious. My bestie's roast beef sandwich was also very tasty. Can't wait to come back 1 million times to try everything on the menu, especially their shakes and cookies. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very warm staff. Ambiance is very fun and retro; great music. It was late so we decided to share a Rueben sandwich which contained a lot of meat. Very good sandwich. Couldn't leave without trying some wonderful cheesecake. What really made our experience so wonderful was Alannnah, our young waitress. First of all, the food is delicious, and the portions are more than enough for two people, even with ordering for one person. I like the atmosphere, decor and music . It takes me back to m6 childhood, remembering where I was and my age, when certain songs are playing. On this particular afternoon, Christian was our waiter. He was very friendly, courteous, and professional. We had an issue with an item on our order and had to return it. He said he would get the manager to come over and talk with us about it. Steve, the manager, came and talked to us about our order. He agreed with our assessment, as did the chef in the kitchen. After polite conversation, an apology that was above and beyond, and a nice adjustment to our bill, we finished our delicious food. We'll be back! read more

We have been here twice already. The first time we came for happy hour and appetizers. Second we had breakfast. The food comes in an abundance. The sizes are definitely huge and I say it is more than enough to feed 2 people per dish. Unless you have a teenager. The food is delicious so far. I plan to come again and try more drinks during happy hour. Our choices have been great and not disappointing at all. Service has been excellent even if it has been busy. I met my friend here before we went to paint. Our server Natalia was a bubbly delight. She took care of all we wanted and she did it with a smile. We talked about the Spurs and other intriguing things. Now the food was on point! I had the French toast and an order of sausage. The syrup was nice and warm which provided even more enjoyment. I finished everything and was very satisfied. Hell's Kitchen played on screen and I enjoyed being on the receiving end of the kitchen. We've eaten at the original location a number of times and decided to try this one since it is new and closer. The positives - much more space than the original. We were there on a day that wasn't hot outside so when they asked if we wanted to be seated outside with fans, we agreed. Apparently the fans were not working properly - after several attempts they couldn't get them all working and we asked to be moved inside, which they accommodated. Our server was fairly new, but he did a good job. He took our order and moved us inside. Unfortunately, he seated us at another server's table and that server was really confused. Eventually it all got figured out. The menu is enormous - almost too many choices if that's possible. My wife tried the Broadway Deli Dip which is a hot sliced roast beef, melted mozzarella on a hoagie roll, served with au jus. The sandwich was very large. The flavor was very good and the au jus had a good flavor without being overly salty. I tried the New Yorker which was a hot roast beef, bacon, melted mozzarella, horseradish sauce on toasted hoagie roll. Again, it was very large. There was waaay too much mozzarella on the sandwich. The sandwich itself was for the most part flavorless. I love horseradish but this was more of a sauce and lacking in flavor. I would not order this sandwich again. I asked for a 1/2 fries and 1/2 onion rings instead of a full order or fries or rings and our server said I could do that for a slight up charge, which was fine. When someone else brought the food, the brought a full order of fries and a 1/2 fries and 1/2 onion rings. When I mentioned what I actually ordered, the person bringing the food said they would check on it - we never heard back. Eventually we just asked for the check and saw the charge for the 1/2 and 1/2 as a full side order and not a sub or up charge. We chose not to spend more time over $5. The fries were okay. The onion rings were very good - breaded and fried perfectly. So - we will probably give them another shot in a month or so and see if there is improvement. read more

Finally got to have me some delicious brunch at our new Cibolo location. I was seated fairly quickly and chose to go to the outdoor patio. Our server. Christine was very nice and gracious even though our food took 15 minutes longer, which we didn't mind because the restaurant just recently opened up. It was a lot of people there yesterday, anyway the food came out piping hot. Everything tasted great and we had a great time. The location is located right next to Santikos movie theater in Cibolo. It's very spacious with a lot of indoor and outdoor seating so stop on by and get you some delicious eats. read more

looking at the reviews for the cibolo location, i was worried, bc i love the original location. food was on point. potato hash that came with the benedict was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. one of the most difficult things is to poach an egg for a benedict, but these were on point; creamy in the middle and solid white on the outside. i think service was a bit slow, as they are getting their rhythm, but overall well done. the ambiance keeps the old time feel of the original, and has open style seating inside and out. i didn't have the room this time, but can't wait to go back and get a piece of the carrot cake and some ice cream at Melvin's that's attached to the restaurant read more
