If it was possible, I'd give it a zero. The inside was worn down, which I can look past but it was just plain dirty. I'd dwell on that more but the food was horrible. The best thing was a bland hamburger and cold fries. The noodles in the pasta was sticky and rubbery (way over cooked and probably sitting for hours before getting served.). The chicken parmesan was a rubbery/chewy mess. Even the kid's Alfredo pasta was disgusting. How do you mess up something so simple with bland overcooked noodles and a somehow sticky Alfredo sauce 0 out of 10. You couldn't pay me to eat there again. My brother and I stopped in here for a quick bite. We could tell they were short staffed and was sat at the bar area. There was only 1 girl working that area and she already had about 2 other tables and some patrons at the bar as well, so it took awhile before she could get our drinks and order. When our food came out, it was pretty decent tasting. Bread was dry but other that that not bad. Took awhile to get our check too. Max & Erma's is a classic restaurant that has survived the test of time. How they have survived I'm not sure. However, I am happy they have. I do love the tortilla soup and they do have some good burgers. My complaint about this restaurant is that it's dirty and out dated. The carpet is super sticky (which is kinda gross when you're eating) I do like the decor and the customer service is "usually" good at this location. Most importantly the rest room is a solid C+ which it's interesting that the bathroom is cleaner than where we eat.... but none the less it's a C+ with decent TP! read more

Food here was pretty average. We arrived during lunchtime on a weekday and we did have to wait about 15-20 minutes for a table. They have plenty of options for everyone, including a gluten sensitive menu. They had a limited time only menu with garlic Parmesan mozzarella skewers, which were essential mini mozzarella sticks with garlic and Parmesan. They were pretty decent, and were served nice and warm. I got one of the lunch specials which was the half tomato and mozzarella chicken sandwich and Cesar salad. Both were decent, but not mind blowing. My boyfriend got the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries and said they were just okay. This location is close to the outlet mall, so in my opinion it would be a good option after a day of shopping. read more

Not even the option to "create your own burger" The bbq pulled pork was okay but the meat didn't seem fresh and tasted leftover from the day before. Not impressed. Greeted at the door with litter all over welcome mat. Seated at table that attached to wall. Line of dirt in crease of attachment. Kid wiping off tables just pushed all debris to the floor then gave his towel a flick so anything else could go flying. Staff just walked over any litter on floor. Stray French fry attached itself to a toddler's foot hopefully discovered by an adult. Food was minimum. read more

We decided go here based upon the menu for a late lunch at 2:15. We had to wait 20 minutes due to the lack of staff per the hostess. Upon seating it took 10 minutes for someone to even greet us. We ordered food and drinks. 30 minutes later we received our order. The salad was not what I ordered just a totally different one and the burger was raw. The booth had torn seats and felt dirty. Ok, yes, this is a standard American food chain near the outlet mall and I am pretty sure that this most recent visit was not my first, but I don't really remember prior visits, however, I feel the need to write a review because of how awesome our service was. My husband and brother in law went here while my sister and I shopped at the nearby outlet mall. Once we were too tired to continue, we came and joined them. Found them sitting at the bar and drinking lots of beer. This place was very busy by this time since it was a Saturday evening but there was still a few seats at the bar so we just stayed there. Ordered myself a big beer and they had Sun King Cream Ale on tap (as well as a few other local beers), awesome! We were very hungry and started with some pretzels to share. Those were tasty but I wanted to save my appetite for some of the chicken tortilla soup, it is so good but does have a little kick to it. Devoured this and then my husband and I split their club sandwich, very solid club and tasty fries. We also got their fresh baked chocolate chip cookies (they have other flavors too) and let me just tell you JUST GET THESE THEY ARE SO DELICIOUS especially when still warm. Ugh, I just want more now!! Hopefully you get the idea. So let me just tell you about the highlight of this visit besides the cookies, the bartender was OUTSTANDING. So personable, quick, funny and attentive. It was such a smooth and fun experience. I wish I remembered his name. A manager appeared behind the bar at one point and I made sure to tell him. He not only took care of the constant busy flow at the bar, but even had regulars he knew and took care of wonderfully. I like the diversity of Max & Erma's menu. It is pretty traditional American fare, but they offer lots of different things: burgers, pasta, chicken, fish, etc. I find Max & Erma's to be a little more expensive than other places in/around the outlets, but their service and menu make up for the higher prices. The staff are always helpful and friendly. I rarely have to wait long to be waited on and for my food. The bathroom and restaurant and clean. I wish the restaurant wasn't so dark; otherwise a good place to go after a full day of shopping. read more

Traveling through and stopped at Max and Erma's. There were several restaurants close by- but we decided to eat somewhere we don't have at home- so glad we chose Max and Erma's. The restaurant is clean and the menu has plenty of options but not overwhelming with too many choices. Our waitress, Amy, was fantastic. When she found out this was our first time to Max and Erma's she attentively explained all the entrees and specialties on the menu. My wife had the bacon cheeseburger and gave me a bite- it was delicious. I had the mushroom/Swiss burger- it was great- I almost ordered a second one. The burgers are not frozen patties- but hand patted and large. Endless fries accompany each Burger order. We went at an off time, and it was actually somewhat busy, but I think that had to do with the fact that they put everyone in the same dining area. I ordered their award-winning veggie burger. Where do I start? We walked up to the entrance to find it locked . We had to walk around to the outdoor patio to ask a waitress to let us in. When we got in, we saw a metal strap that slides over the breaker bar to keep it unlocked, but it had slipped out of place. The two staff members manning the front counter were very disorganized. I heard one say that the phone on the desk hadn't worked for weeks. Also heard her tell someone that they were better off waiting on an inside table because the patio waitress was slow. When we got seated, our silverware was dirty so we had to ask for more. Waitresses were yelling back and forth in the dining area about who had what table? I like this place. I only stop here once a year when in town for training. I travel around the country visiting military bases and eat in a lot of restaurants. Max & Erma's is a great joint. The last two visits our waitress was very attentive, and very sweet. I had the Stack to the max club ... It's your typical club sammich. Full of meat and toast but satisfying as hell. I wasn't much a fan of the Lynchburg Lemondade, simply because I live 20 min from Jack Daniels Distillery and can get the real deal easily. Eating here simply says, "too lazy to drive the 8 miles to Columbus." Sadness pervades every aspect of this food deployment facility. Menu is depressing. Decor is more fake than an Applebee's. The people in my party who insisted we eat here are new acquaintances. Like this restaurant, will actively avoid them in the future. There was one bright spot. Our server Cassie was great. That was our good fortune as the hostess said our server was to be H..... After Cassie took our order, noticed a server walk by with name tag emblazoned with H. stroll by. The only thing more dirty than the carpet was H's shirt. Sadness beset my sole. Needless to say I did not finish the gormet burger I ordered. My mom and I stopped last night for a late dinner after shopping at the Outlets. We were immediately greeted by an upbeat hostess and our server was happy and attentive. We chose to dine outside on their lovely patio area. Tables and chairs were clean, comfortable and looked new. We both ordered the fish and chips dinner. The fish was outstanding. I thought we were dining on the coast, it was that fresh. The General Manager prepared and brought out our meal to give his staff a break because they had a busy Labor Day weekend. They were even doing a fund raiser for their local boys and girls club. Warm Atmosphere, Excellent Service, Great Food, Overall a PERFECT Experience!
