Stopped in on the way to Brown County. We had onion rings, black bean burger, fish sandwich and the oriental chicken salad. All was ok. Onion rings were a bit greasy for me, as well as the fish. Friends said black bean burger and oriental chicken salad were average and the salad dressing was spicy. Sports bar atmosphere with a half a dozen tvs. Clean dining area and restrooms. Service was pleasant and efficient. Wouldn't be my first pick of all the choices in the area. read more

Our last stop after our long road trip. In all honestly, we were all getting tired of eating out and we were not really feeling this meal. We arrived around dinner time on a Saturday night and we were seated right away. Our server was very nice and also serving a lot of tables so he was very quick with us and we were fine with that. My husband had the Diablo Burger with fries and Cole slaw, I ordered the soup and grilled cheese, my son had the chicken tender basket and my daughter had the grilled chicken sandwich. My son and daughter received fries with their entrees. All of our food was very good, the slaw was really good. My husband was the only member of the clean plate club; we had an eight hour drive home the next day so we didn't bring our leftovers with us. Great little place to have dinner with the family. We enjoyed watching the TV's and people watching. If we are find ourselves back in Columbus, IN, we will be having dinner at Papa's! read more

Before our trip to Nashville, IN we had planned on trying the restaurant at Hard Truth there in Nashville. After spending the day in Nashville shopping we decided we wanted something not so hyped and branded. My husband was still in the mood for a burger or soup or nachos, American food of some kind anyway. We needed to make our way to the interstate so the search began in the Columbus area. We decided on this place and were not disappointed. We got there around 5:30 on a Thursday and just ahead of the dinner crowd. The soup of the day was chicken pot pie, which sounded good to my husband. It was $1 more for a bowl than a cup so he went with the bowl sized. We both thought nachos sounded good and ordered a 1/2 order. We decided to order and share both. Both came out piping hot! The nachos were great with a mix of both nacho and melted shredded cheese, we chose chicken and there was just enough, it also had sour cream, black olives and a cup of salsa. The soup was good, I think was expecting a little bit of pastry, dumpling or noodle which I didn't have any. It was a little heavy on the celery flavor, although I didn't really see any, and could have had a few more veggies in it. It was actually a full sized bowl and a hearty portion compared to most restaurant servings of soup these days. We weren't in a hurry and our waiter was super patient with us as we looked through the menu to order or meals. He did a good job getting everything to us promptly and checking in just enough. I ordered a gyro, something I usually only get a the fair or a place that serves mainly Greek food, but it sounded good so I went with it. My husband went with the fish sandwich and traded the fries out for tater tots. Again both of our orders came out hot and delish. I told my husband I totally expected to ask for more tzatziki sauce but to my surprise it had the perfect amount. Just enough that I had to be careful not to spill it down the front of my shirt but not so much that it was swimming in it.. that's skill. The fries I got reminded me of the fries they serve at Rally's/Checker's but a little thicker and a little less intense seasoning. I'm a ketchup or mayo or ranch fry dipper- always! And I didn't dip the fries in anything, they were that good. Now to my husband's fish sandwich. It came with 3 big pieces of fish, count them... 3! It was breaded in a cornmeal breading, which I usually don't care for, but it was impeccably done. It was crunchy and not gritty like you often get with cornmeal breading, and the tartar sauce... oh yeah .. the perfect blend of light sweetness, pickle and dill weed. The tator tots he got were nice and crunchy, although not as plentiful or seasoned as the fries I received. The decor was trendy, lots of seating at both high and low top tables but it wasn't overly noisy. There were a couple of tv's in the main restaurant area where we were with the news on that evening. The noise of talking was a little more when we finished as it had gotten busy, but you could still talk to people at your table comfortably. Awesome place! Awesome food! Reasonable prices! Wish it was close to home but it's probably good that it's not or we would be there all too often. Next time we go to Nashville it will be on our list for at least one meal. read more

Went there today 3-22-2026 for outside patio dining. Was told we could eat outside but they had no umbrellas. I ask why and was told they took them down due to wind. I get that but the wind was not blowing where the tables were against the building. The sun was very bright today. This was our favorite place at one time when traveling but not anymore. The umbrella could have been taken down when we finished eating. We always travel with a pet and stop there. We just drove another hour to get something to eat. Not my favorite spot anymore.....they have brought them out and taken them back in before when we were there.​ read more

Wonderful food. Very dog friendly! They brought a water bowl for our dog and we had a great lunch on the patio. Quick service and delicious food. I had the salmon salad and my husband had the tenderloin. The mozzarella wedges were excellent as well. read more

This is my first time here. The restaurant is located in a strip mall easily accessible from I65. As a beer connoisseur originally from the midwest, I saw Zombie dust on tap and i knew this was the right place to be. They have a limited amount of beers on draft but they made good use of their taps by tapping good beers! As I sat in a mostly empty restaurant at 6:10 pm, people began shuffling in. It was clear to me that this is a local favorite...though most patrons were much older, several families I ordered the special for the day, a mushroom Swiss burger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, and a brown gravy over the top. I ordered it medium...:came with tator tots. There was nothing particularly special about the presentation but it was a solid choice. Remi dede of a good backyard BBQ burger. It's a little bit hard to find as it is in a strip shopping center set pretty far back from Hwy 46. I used GPS navigation to find it is easily as you have to bear to the right if westbound on IN 46. The greeter will offer you a high or low table. I ordered the Chicken Tenders Basket which came with EIGHT tenders, coleslaw and fries. The coleslaw was excellent and so were the tenders. The tenders didn't have too much batter and were fried to perfection. I had made a list of places in Columbus previously that were rated high on Yelp for lunch. This place was my third place I stopped today and it was the most accommodating. I'm glad I found this lunch spot. read more

We always try to stop at Papa's when going north on 65. On our way north we stopped for a late lunch. Everyone got something different and no one was disappointed. Well maybe on the meatloaf dinner. It is served with brown gravy and we are ketchup topped meatloaf people. But it was still delicious and we ate every bite! The service was great and the place was decked out for game day. We stopped in Columbus for supper and Papa's Grill had good reviews and was convenient to the interstate. The reviews were correct! We were seated right away. The menu includes appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers and entree's. The weekly special of a Reuben burger sounded good but the meatloaf, mashed red skinned potatoes and steamed broccoli were calling my name. Hubby ordered a fish sandwich with onion rings. The portions were generous, the food was delivered quickly and was delicious. We were pleased with this choice, and will consider stopping here again. read more

Stopped here because it's close to Interstate 65 and we were passing through. To start off with, hubby got the cheesy tomato soup and I got the chicken enchilada soup. Both were thick. They were good, but I think I'll get the wings next time. I got the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich (bpt) with lettuce, mayo,and spicy mustard. I liked the bun too. The meat was a bit thick and had the slightest hint of pink to it, but overall the flavor was really good. I confirmed they pounded out the meat and breaded it themselves as any good, respectable restaurant in Indiana serving bpt should :) The waiter said this place used to be a deli. The french fries were excellent. My hubby got the bison burger. He said it was just ok. We ordered a single hamburger patty for our dog (don't ask... lol). I tore off a bite to taste it and noticed it had the synthetic flavor of the ingredient liquid smoke. I was glad I didn't get one of their burgers. The waiter was very helpful and said they had good chicken wings and that they are known for their homemade strawberry cake, but we were too full. They had both low and high tables to sit at. I appreciate the option. There was a bar area that was pretty open to view from the restaurant but separated by a half-wall. This is a good place to stop. I'd recommend it. read more

The reviews were right about Papa's Grill which is located in a little strip mall just off the highway. The restaurant and meal offerings are traditional American - burgers, sandwiches, salads, and lots of fries. The dining room is simple and remarkably clean with high and low tables. The portions are generous. You won't leave hungry. I ordered a chicken wrap for $9 that came with a pile of seasoned fries. I had not intended to eat the fries but they we so delicious I could not resist. They are lightly seasoned, crispy and addictive. The chicken wrap was excellent with lots of fresh ingredients - bacon, chicken, lettuce, tomato. I tried my husbands gyro which was large and also buried with those great fries. The gyro was good with cucumbers and tomatoes and lots of taziki sauce. Kids menu is $5 with choice of mini burgers, Mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, grilled cheese. Fries and cookies included. Angel, our server was attentive and friendly. He kept our was glasses full and checked us us regularly. Crayons and mat were given to occupy our granddaughter. Service is a definite 5 star. There is an outdoor patio seating area. Restrooms are clean and nice. There is also a full service bar with specials. read more

We wanted a place to sit outside so I looked on you and found Papa's grill. The outside patio is very nice. We got to sit outside as promised. The server was prompt and our food came out quickly. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with American cheese and it tasted like charcoal water with cheese on top. It was so dry I could barely chew it. I had rice as a side and it was absolutely delicious! Piping hot and flavored perfectly. I didn't send the sandwich back because I probably wouldn't have eaten much more than I was able to choke down as it was. My friend had the fried fish and it was mostly breading with barely any fish. He eventually just started pulling what fish he could find out. He also did not complain as there wasn't much else he was interested in on the menu. The friend I was with tells me that they have absolutely excellent salads and a tray came out of salads that looked really really pretty and fresh. I am not a salad person and he is not able to eat it due to dental issues, so I likely won't be back. He might when he is able to eat salads again. Wife's Hawaiian Chicken sandwich, however, tasted VERY good, which surprised me, because I don't like pineapple on burgers or pizza (despite loving it by itself). Pretzel bun and teriyaki were key. Fries were unique and very tasty as well. Offered dessert, strawberry cake or fudge cake, but we're not huge cake fans, so we declined. Service was very good also - seated quickly and server was pleasant and attentive. Even brought us a sample of a temporary 'non-menu' item being offered - baked potato salad. We we traveling back to Tennessee and needed to stop for lunch and since my wife has never had a tenderloin we searched for a place with good reviews along the highway and found Papa's Grill. The place is small but don't let that stop you from the big flavor you're about to experience. The tenderloin was huge and made to perfection. The service was perfect and this was an all around great experience. If we lived in the area we would definitely be a regular. read more

The buffalo chicken salad (with blackened chicken) was super delicious! The quesadilla and euro are also great as well. The service is always very fast, even when they are busy so you can go here on a lunch break. I do wish they would update the name of their Asian salad. I've been here many many times. I used to go regularly about two years ago or so. However, overtime it's gone downhill. The service is usually slow. What you order doesn't always come the way it's supposed to come. For one example, one of the burgers is supposed to come with fried jalapeños, but they only sauté them. Which I know is faster, but at least change your menu after that long. The ambience is OK. They're real picky about you sitting outside. If they don't feel like serving outside that day, they definitely don't let it happen. Their prices have gone up as well. Which I know rent or leasing in that specific area very high, so I do feel bad because I know it's a struggle, But if I'm going to pay those prices, I want the food to be delicious. And it is no more than mediocre. I don't know I guess overall I would probably give it two stars but I hate to do that to a local business so I'm still giving it three, but, let's just say I haven't gone there in at least six months because I get more and more disappointed every time I go. read more

I had the gyro and fries and loved it. I am a little picky when it comes to gyros and so, I was a little skeptical about ordering the gyro here but I was not disappointed. The fries are very crispy, I am not sure if there are homemade or it is the temperature they were fried at. I tasted the tropical tilapia as well and it tasted great. It was a little sweet since it is served with pineapple. The serving staff was very polite and made sure that we were ok and would constantly check in on us. The ambience is nice and there is ample parking spots available outside the restaurant. read more
