The spicy ketchup while nothing fancy added a great variety to oppose the ranch our wonderful server Joe recommended without hesitation. You can also add the warm soft rolls to the app experience. They were even more tasty. Could eat a ton of those alone and be happy! For our mains she got steak and shrimp and chose grilled shrimp as opposed to fried. She absolutely loved the steak and said it was exactly what she needed! The shrimp sadly, was not, she took a bite and had a reaction I haven't seen before. We believe the seasoning was just not to her taste. Our server Joe again was right on the spot and offered the solution to swap for the fried shrimp and they were so much better in her opinion. We cannot thank Joe enough for being so friendly and professional. She had mashed potatoes for her side and was not blown away but that is perfectly okay. The meal came with a salad, however it was okay at best. The uncut veg while visually appealing takes away from the eating experience. As for my main I ordered Messy Mike's Burger without the fresh red onion to medium well temp. The temp was overdone, but truthfully is no big deal to me. It was still tasty and very flavorful. An item I would order again for sure!!! The French fries were crispy and well seasoned and the green beans were also a great addition to the meal. Overall the food was great and alone is a 4 star given the remedy. The big driving force for the 5 star was the fantastic service provided by Joe. It isn't often I mention the server, but he was attentive, kept our drinks full, was polite and the true home run was the quick remedy of the issue with the shrimp. Perfect portion, great dressing, well-balanced. Unfortunately, that's where the highlights end. The steak and veggies arrived shortly after I finished the salad, but the vegetables were cold and clearly undercooked. The bigger disappointment was the NY Strip itself. I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium well -- and I'm not exaggerating when I say the cut was barely a half-inch thick. Grey throughout, with zero sear on either side. To be fair to the kitchen, it's nearly impossible to hit medium rare on a steak that thin, so the real issue isn't the cooking -- it's the quality of the meat being sourced. The ancho butter was $1.99 extra and absolutely flavorless. Didn't even taste like real butter much less any seasoning in it. For a restaurant billing itself as a steakhouse, the cut and quality of the beef has to be the priority. This one missed the mark.

I feel like I'll be able to get at least 4 meals out of my one lunch serving. The flavor in these dishes will knock your socks off! You can tell that these are prepared with care and time. The spices really work together to bring the taste of New Orleans to Columbus, Indiana. There was one hostess working the register and getting food to customers who was completely lovely. We enjoyed her friendly demeanor and patience when we asked how the menu worked. Plentiful seating available. Complimentary street parking if you can find it. I was just at columbus five guys around 5pm 01-10-2024 and ordered 1 little cheese burger, 1 regular cheese burger and 1 little fry . First I'll explain the fry issue then the burger issue. To set the scene: we come in to an EMPTY dining room. 2 couples came in from the time we sat to the time we left. Meaning they were NOT BUSY, in fact they were dead for 5pm! Little fry was $4.35+tax. When we got the bag we were extremely surprised by the LACK of fries. There were like 14 fries in all haha! It was literally JUST the small tiny white container of fries , no extra. We have been going for 9 years and always get more dumped in, like extra fries at the bottom of the bag... so we're like "maybe with inflation they can't do the usual amount?" Which we would have been understanding of - we were totally cool with it at first and mentioned eventually it might happen. We decided to ask for confirmation. I got up from eating and walked to the food grab table where the young teen boy who was manning the fry station stood, and asked "have you changed the amount of fries you give customers for little fries?" He responds: "no" . (No other inquiry back, no "how can I help you".) I say "we are used to getting like a healthy helping in the bag, bottom of bag full of fries". Teen boy responds by just *smirking* and *shrugging his shoulders* at me. No words spoken at all, so I just go back and sit down. The response blowing us off is what really pissed my boyfriend off and I! We are like 15yrs older than this boy and always very careful with not coming off as Karen's. My boyfriend and I believe that as soon as a customer is even remotely sharing unhappiness, go get the shift lead. Don't smirk and shrug at customers! We didn't recognize this boy, but the other workers are usually so friendly and chitchat with us about so much; they even know our order by heart because we literally were going once a week for like a year in 2022 haha.. then we tried to ween to once a month. But the way he just blew me off and wouldn't offer more than ONE word to us was weird & surprising to us and the other 2 employees (whom we didn't recognize either) acted like nothing was amiss and ignored my standing there and my comment about the fries. We continued to eat but it wasn't good because our bread was stale (possibly not enough butter during toasting because it was like hard & dry but still white and flaking off, not golden buttery toasted and not keeping integrity . ), the cheese was not melted - it was cold cheese; not drooping over the sides of the burger, just sticking straight out like a square and cold. This cheese occurrence has happened to us a handful of times in the past year and we were already getting weary that food quality was going downhill...and lastly, the hamburgers were dry, not yummy, not dripping with oil like we love ha!. Reminder: they were dead slow, we ordered food in an EMPTY dining room and then only 2 couples came in staggered in the duration we ate. They were not swamped. They had plenty of time to get the food right, especially for dine-in. If a DM or GM reads this, check your receipts for timestamp proof. We wanted to go up and give them the burgers back and explain about the quality issues, but after that response we just knew there was no reason. My boyfriend commented "place is going downhill". The fry teen kept looking at us while we ate like he knew we were unhappy, so I kept thinking he was going to ask the shift lead to come to our table, to save the customer satisfaction, but nope! he never did anything or let anyone know that we were possibly unhappy, he just kept staring at us. . It was really awkward and frustrating . We are the type of people to ask 1 time, give 1 chance and then we drop it. We don't go harp over and over again, we just gracefully tap out - so we are tapping out of this. No more five guys for us.
