Sunday evening birthday dinner. Food was great and the service was excellent. A good value and family friendly!

Service is fast, food is always good. Restaurant and restrooms are always clean. Drinks and appetizers are always served quickly.

I think I was the first to arrive for lunch at 11:15 am. The multiple dining rooms looked in tip top shape with their usual dark wood furniture. Their dining rooms are always welcoming and a comfortable place to eat your meal. They afford more privacy than most places too. Service was very fast all around. I was greeted immediately upon walking through the door. My server, Jennifer, was super attentive. All of the food arrived quickly. I ordered the Admiral's Feast which is Walt's Favorite Shrimp, Wild-Caught Flounder, Clam Strips and Bay Scallops, all fried to a golden-brown. For the two sides, I went with the Steamed Broccoli and the Coleslaw. I am a big time fan of shrimp and have been for years but today the clam strips were the number one item on this huge seafood platter. They were cooked perfectly and tasted awesome! I could have easily ate a second portion of them before devouring everything else. Every fried item was good. They had a light and crunchy breading that tasted pretty good. The steamed broccoli was superb with its generous buttery coating. The coleslaw portion was huge; way more than I could eat but a nice compliment to the large meal I ordered. I did not taste the complimentary bread on the table. For dessert I ordered the Vanilla Bean Cheesecake. The whipped cream topping had shavings of the vanilla beans. I don't recall seeing that before and I think it made the vanilla flavor stand out even more. Vanilla is my favorite flavor and this dessert hit the spot. I've been here many times over the years, but it's been a while. I came here tonight with my parents and I was rather satisfied with everything. Honestly living in Indiana we all we don't have many options for seafood around here. But the food here is still usually always pretty good. I've never had any problems with the food that I can remember. And I don't think I ever have had a terribly long wait. Tonight was Monday but it felt oddly empty. It was really quiet. The only complaint I had was our server was super dull and acted like he hated his life. I understand that we all have bad days but it would have been nice if he atleast cracked one smile or at least said hello how are you guys today? It is a Red Lobster. It's consistent. It's the same every place. No surprises. No chef creativity encouraged or even allowed, I suspect. A very, very dear friend picked the venue. She and one other person taught me about everything I know concerning my subject area. So it was okay. They had an all you can eat shrimp special so I could try different things. It wasn't very busy. They kept the iced tea glasses full. They did not rush us as we got caught up on the last 15 years. The broccoli was over cooked and mushy. The cheese biscuits were hard and dried out. Terrible customer experience. I didn't hear my name being called. The "host" told me, "It's not my fault if you didn't hear me." My fault. I was less than a foot away from the host station. My daughter, who has excellent hearing, didn't hear my name. But it was MY FAULT that I didn't hear him call my name. This was my go-to place for my daughter and me on our mom-and-daughter outings. About a month ago, our server ignored us because she was trying too hard to get a good tip from a professional-looking woman. She was constantly at her table, and we had to ask for extra cheddar biscuits three times because she kept "forgetting." She finally brought them when we asked for to-go boxes for our food. We were there yesterday, the day before Mother's Day, 5/14/2023, around 4:00 pm. When we walked in, the host didn't acknowledge me, called the couple sitting behind me, and seated them. When he returned to his host station, he again didn't acknowledge me. Several minutes later, he asks me, "How many?" without looking at me. No smile. No greeting. Asks for my name, but still no eye contact. Then asks for my cell number with no explanation. I am wondering why he is asking for that, and of course, I have that look on my face. He finally looked at me and told me they would text me when my table was available. He was just so unfriendly and borderline rude like I was bothering him and keeping him from more important work. About 20 minutes later, I wondered what was happening because he sat two couples that came in after I did. When I went to inquire at the host's station, less than a foot away, asking if I had been called because I didn't hear my name. The "host" told me, "It's not my fault if you didn't hear me." Today was our Anniversary we spent the day outside enjoying the weather. On the way home we stopped in Columbus,Indiana for linner around 1530. Maybe one other customer in the restaurant. So it was nice and peaceful. We ordered the stuffed for a appetizer . My husband ordered one of the Lobster fest items. I ordered the ultimate fest! The biscuits came to the table. I love the harder/crispy ones which is the ones I had. I take out the inside (the doughy part) which happened to be real doughy. Our salads came and then the mushrooms. I didn't think the stuffing was done so I didn't eat it. My hubby never said anything. I also ordered sweet tea which I though kinda tasted like fish water. I haven't been to a Red Lobster in yearrrrs. This location was abiding by COVID rules, felt safe, and the service was just wonderful. I have become a bit of a food snob in my adult years and really enjoy trying unique and non-chain restaurants. However, Red Lobster was my favorite restaurant as a child and now I remember why. You had me at "cheddar bay biscuits". They are as good as I remember. Unchanged. Light, fluffy, garlicky and cheesy. Need I say more? I stuffed my face with them. I want to add too, that every item we received was piping hot and fresh. My husband and I shared the langostino lobster and artichoke dip as an appetizer. It was just ok. Tons of warm, fresh tortilla chips, but the dip was lots of sauce, not so much substance. Although we were surprised at the amount of lobster chunks, there was really no artichokes. It was more like pieces of lobster in a cream sauce. Just ok. Would have been good on pasta. We opted to share the create your own platter meal and the server wasn't surprised that we wanted to share. We found out why when it came. HOLY GUACAMOLE! The food... the shear amount of food! This ONE meal came with 2 sides. We choose coleslaw, which was a HUGE serving of very good creamy coleslaw. The slightly sweet kind with celery seeds. We also choose mashed potatoes. They were good and buttery and garlicky. Our 3 seafood choices were clam strips, coconut shrimp, and shrimp scampi. We received a MASSIVE amount of seafood. Like maybe even a little irresponsible amount of food, if that's even possible. I'm literally still in shock. Clam strips can be dry and full of breading, but we had many "meaty" pieces. They came with tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. The coconut shrimp were so good. Very crispy and lots of coconut. The sauce with the coconut shrimp was a creamy piña colada sauce and so, so good. I crave this stuff. The shrimp scampi was yummy and has not changed in at least 35 years. Did I just age myself? My point is, quit being a foodie snob like me and support your local Red Lobster. I always want to love red lobster, mostly because it's a cozy atmosphere and the service is really pretty good. The biscuits are as good as they can be. Repeat: FANTASTIC BISCUITS. Great SERVICE. But the clam chowder was watery, and not all that hot. The salad was really wet, and otherwise unremarkable. Is there any lettuce other the iceberg in the Red Lobster Universe? Why is every shrimp the size of a pale, fleshy nickel? I really wish the basics were fantastic (see above). read more

Red Lobster was just ok. Nothing to brag about, really. My steak was tender but it was overcooked. I asked for medium well but I got well done. My husband ordered flounder, no flavor to it, garlic shrimp, which he loved, cole slaw, he said tasted spoiled, and broiled scallops. I ordered through DoorDash the Grilled shrimp skewers with a baked potato and a salad without tomato. I also paid extra for an order of biscuits and a container of shrimp cocktail sauce. The shrimp sauce was over $3 as well as the biscuits. So, I paid over $6 extra for those items. When I received my order the cocktail sauce wasn't in the bag. Tried calling the delivery driver but was unable to reach them so I called Red Lobster and actually reached the young man that prepared my order and he admitted that he forgot the cocktail sauce. Said he would try reaching the driver and would then call me back. While I was waiting for them to call me back I decided to eat my salad. I open the container and there's diced tomatoes all over it, so now I can't even eat my salad. Go to grab a biscuit and they are very old and very dry so I can't eat them either. He finally calls me back and says that he was unable to reach the driver and the only thing he can do is give it to me if I want to drive there to get it. Are you kidding me?!?!?! I hung up on him, he obviously didn't care so I didn't see the point in wasting more of my time talking to him about it. This is the second time in a row that I have received poor quality food from Red Lobster and I will not be returning. Overpriced very mediocre food. If your looking for a nice quality meal that is fairly priced I would recommend Luciana's in the Commons Mall. Fast and friendly, order is always correct, food is always delicious and they don't charge an arm and a leg. I've been there many times and it is always a great experience. We had lunch there today and was disappointed. Service was good but the food was sub-par. I don't mind paying the price for good food, but this was not it. The fried food that we was served had the texture and taste of something that was cooked a couple of days ago and was reheated. I expect more from a restaurant at this price point. read more

Been here many times before and enjoyed the food & service. Last night made my family & I "former" patrons. We were seated in what was a absent servers station. A problem as manager failed to get the service team to coordinate on picking up the extra stations. The server we were assigned did her best but without support, she was task saturated with her normal area + us. Slow drink service, no plates, late appetizers, no bread, no plate clearing. Tables near us were not cleared. It was bad. We'll call it a 1 Star because the waitress tried. Other than that, we'll find another place to get a seafood dinner in Columbus read more

Years ago, Red Lobster was a very nice place to eat. The food was delicious and was worth the money. Now every time I come, the food tastes as if it were last nights leftovers, and very watered down sauce. The quality has dropped, but so has the quantity; so they aren't aiming for either one. This is just a red lobster review, not the Columbus site. they are fine. my problem with Red Lobster is they are over priced. if I have to spend 57 dollars for lunch for 2 seniors and 1 adult with no alcohol or soft drinks and the cheapest thing on the menu. I say that is ridiculous. I can go to Texas Roadhouse before 6 pm and spend 8.99 on a 6 oz steak with a side of my choice and a salad of my choice, a soft drink and free rolls and peanuts for 32.00 dollars and that is a dinner price before 6 pm for 3 people. Red Lobster should be run out of business. Nothing wrong with the service, just over priced for the amount of food and selections you have. :( read more

I don't write reviews unless something is outstanding or horrible. My last meal at Red Lobster was horrible. I like fish and needed delivery, but wanted something more than a fast food sandwich so I ordered from the Lobster. I got fried fish, green beans, and baked potato with butter and sour cream. I've never before had hard fish. I couldn't tear it apart much less bite it. In addition, they didn't offer tartar sauce or take special orders. I texted the driver to please get me tartar sauce but they told him the bag was closed so they couldn't send it. The green beans were like rubber and had no seasoning. The baked potato had to be okay, right? No, they didn't send the butter and sour cream that I ordered. Dry baked potato, anyone? The biscuits were okay. Needless to say, I was disappointed. I know fish wasn't the most expensive thing on the menu, but if it is there, it should be edible. read more

As a seafood lover, I used to thoroughly enjoy Red Lobster. However with my last couple of visits, I've been a bit disappointed. As the price of the food climbs, the overall quantity and quality seems to be falling. The Ultimate Feast was always my go to entrée but, it's just not the same. The lobster tail keeps getting smaller and I'm less and less impressed with the crab. I still love the shrimp scampi though. And I used to love the lobster bisque but, now I always regret ordering it. Put all that together with their always lousy beer selection and you have an overpriced and underwhelming dinner experience. This place has been good in the past, but you may as well be forewarned not to go on a Friday night. We were seated at 5:30pm, and waited for our food from 1 hr to 1 hr and 20 min. They served a few of us and left others at our table out. The waitress never kept us updated on our food or apologize for our wait. When I finally got mine, it was tepid to say the least. Broiled fish and broccoli served cold did not go over well, especially after waiting so long. We asked to speak to the manager and she said she would give us half-priced meals. My cold meal was not worth it. One in our party never got served, so the manager thought she was doing something by not charging him for the meal he never received. I just tried to eat here at 2:20 in the afternoon on a Saturday. The hostess is obviously sick because she is sniffling loudly and she doesn't seem to know what she is doing. There are only a handful of cars in the parking lot but every single table is dirty, she said, and that there would be a wait to be seated. I said no thanks and walked out. Went to Red Lobster for dinner tonight. Jose was our waiter and he helped us right away. Got a Ceaser salad and it was very good! Got the Bar Harbor Lobster Bake. The manager of Red Lobster brought our food out and asked us how we were. Very nice! Jose refilled our drinks a few times and checked in us. My dish was very good! Seafood was tasty and pasta was cooked perfectly! We asked for boxes, tartar sauce to go and biscuits and Jose got them to us right away. He was a great waiter and we had a good experience! The food was great. The waiter, Scott B, was super great! However, the check-in process was horrible!! Why does it take 3 or 4 times longer to seat 6 people than 2 or 4? Can't they move tables together any more? Then there was an issue with the computer so the receptionist had no idea who came in when. But the groups of 2 people kept being seated as soon as they walked in. Waiting 40 minutes didn't bother us as much as the constant flow of people going ahead of us. read more

One of the best chain restuarants in central Indiana. It may not be Bone Fish or the Oceanaire but the food is tasty, consistent and portions are ample. Best thing about RL Columbus is the staff; they are outstanding. They are always friendly, helpful and extremely customer-focused. Sean (part of the management team) and Carly (a server) have the best people skills at any resturant, regardless of price or reputation, that we've ever been to- and we eat out a lot. read more

Called to order take-out and it rang through to voicemail. Called a few min later and was put on hold so they could finish another order. This was 8pm. Not peak time. Told it would be about 15 min. Arrived at location, hostess mumbled something about the bar and waved in a general direction. Bartender proceeded to talk to me, joke with me (unreciprocated), while doing other work and joking with manager. Told me it had been a long night and she was tired. (I don't care.) Finally had me pay and it's now 30 min after my order and I'm still waiting for food. Chose takeout because I didn't want to deal with people tonight. Ugh. read more
