Just purchased tires, seem fine so far. BUT I would never go to Mavis again. They actually left the rear calipers hanging by the breaklines, so my son had no breaks on our SUV! Then they denied they took the breaks apart!! It was a nightmare dealing with the manager and regional manager. They finally paid for the break repair, but never claimed accountability for their actions.NEVER go there unless you can watch what they do. read more

Would not recommend it. The prices are low, but the workmanship is too. I take great joy in car - when I needed two front tire on my camaro - they order two rubbers for the 20'' rims.....I personally cleaned the rims and tires before dropping them off at their shop.. They were spotless Sadly when I got the rims back - they had many nix's and dig's around the lip of the rim. I noticed this when i got home and, again, went to clean the rims..... I loaded them back in my SUV and headed to the shop - the rep wanted nothing to do with it and said that was damage likely caused by a car wash or curb.....not the case. I cant get into a rim repair shop for a while - so I put the wheels on my car. From speeds of 40-75 my wheel shook so bad - I called and had it looked at AGAIN.. They re-balanced the car for me - took two hours (with appointment) BUT as soon as I drove at the same speed 40-75 the wheel STILL SHOOK.... At this point I had it with Mavis. Scheduled an appt with Dunn Tire a few days later... Well - in those few days going back and forth to work....... the wheel weights completely fell off the rims.... I couldn't drive over 55 because the shake was so bad.... Well after 30 mins at Dunn - They determined that Mavis used a Static Balance Method vs the proper Dynamic Balance method.... Paid the bill there and now my car rides like its on rails......and I still have the wheel weights on my rim... Not a fan of Mavis. read more

As a young female, I try to be as automotive savvy as I can but you never know when someone is trying to rip you off. This is absolutely not the case at Mavis Discount Tire. I called this morning to see if they could rotate my snow/summer tires (Yes, it's August 1st and I'm just getting my snow tires off) and change the oil in my car. They told me to come in shortly after lunch and that it would take about an hour and a half. That sounded good to me, although I was worried that they would be busy and it would take forever. Wrong! The guys at Mavis were professional and had me in and out in under an hour. Their prices were the lowest I've paid... ever. ($9.99/tire to change/mount and $25 for an oil change). There waiting room was cozy too- two TVs playing the news (not too loudly though!) and the assistant manager kindly gave me the WI-FI password so I could do work on my computer. He even checked back with me to make sure I was able to log on without any problems. I was very impressed with the services they performed and with their efficient timing. Also, for anyone who tracks how many miles they get per tank with the tachometer, they didn't touch this so I can still safely cruise around town and fill up before my gas light goes on (or know how many miles I can get before I officially break down). I would highly recommend them to anyone! read more

Made an appointment online and called the Webster location that afternoon to confirm the tires I wanted an made sure a NYS inspection could be done with Tony. I was assured that if I was there promptly at 9:00am on Sunday my truck would be worked on right away and the work completed within an hour or hour and a half max. Once I arrived, all bets were off. "Leave your truck here and come back at 4:00" I was told. When I told them I had to wait for it they said "at least 3 hours, maybe more, there are 6 vehicles ahead of you". Then I was told I must have talked to the call center and not the store. I asked if Tony worked at the store and after a long pause was told "no". I just walked out. When I passed a store employee outside I asked if Tony worked at this location. "He sure does" was the reply. I'll take my business elsewhere thank you. read more

I have had good luck with my wife's and daughter's cars here, but today was a different experience. I called last week to get my truck in today for an inspection and a quote on 4 new tires. I was told to come in first thing in the morning and they'd pull up the notes from my call and get me in and check out the tires. I get there and I'm told they can't get to me for 2-3 hours and I'll have to leave the truck. I didn't have anyway home and no one said I'd have to leave the truck for that long. I'll be spending over $1000 for these tires and I'd like someones undivided attention for 10 or 15 minutes to help me decide on this purchase. I didn't intend to have them installed today, just make a decision. After being told today that "everybody wants tires this week" and "it doesn't matter to me if you wait or not" I decided to go somewhere else where they treat you like they want your business. I went to Dunn Tire. They were pretty busy too, and I dropped in without any appointment, but the counter guy spent a good 15 minutes discussing the best tires for my needs. I'm glad Mavis offers low tire prices, but I'll spend a few bucks more to be treated better. read more

I dealt with Cole muffler many years ago when the building was just Cole. Joe, (manager?) of the Webster store was there then and is still there today. He hasn't changed. His customer service, advice and ability to not sell what isn't needed is still intact and has to be why he's still with the company. I'll be back when needed without a doubt. read more

I recently purchased 4 new tires from the Webster, NY store and even though I didn't notice any problems, I went along with their suggestion to get an alignment too. While driving home following the new tire installation and alignment I noticed a pull to the left that wasn't there before. I returned a couple of days later and they redid the alignment with no trouble. They said that I was right and that the alignment was indeed off slightly. Unfortunately, the pull was still there after the second alignment, and now it was visibly apparent that the camber on the right passenger wheel was different than the left. Given that they couldn't get it right after two attempts I brought it to the dealer within 2 weeks to see if they could. They immediately discovered and proved to me that the upper and lower ball joints on the front passenger side were extremely worn (I.e. lots of wobble top and bottom) and that an alignment couldn't be done in this condition. It is scary to say the least that they missed such an extreme problem in two attempts. They do inspections, so they should have the capability of diagnosing bad ball joints. read more
