Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service.... came in with a flat tire and even called ahead of time just to make sure they had the tire needed. Manager didn't even acknowledge me. Just continued to talk to his buddy with the motorcycle. Another employee decided to drive a customer car right past me and park in one of the garage bays. I parked my car in the front (as my tire deflates) since the manager decided not to acknowledge or direct me into one of the garage bays. Waited in the front lobby just for the employees to just stand around as if they don't have a new customer ready to inquire. I then approached the employees to introduce myself and inquire about my situation. The manager stated he was too busy dealing with an inspection and decided he didn't want to service me. Very weird, rude and unprofessional. Weird behavior especially from the manager, you would think customer service is #1. Very standoffish and unfriendly. The absolute worst experience. When they put the hood up I went to them and said what's going on? He tried to tell me I needed all this work that I didn't need. He wouldn't plug the tire and said all my tires had cracks in them! Really solid experience honestly. Went in having to get a busted tire replaced, and I was out within the hour. After they checked my car, they found a nail in a separate tire and offered me a flat repair on that tire and I was still out within the hour. I spoke with Ashley, one of the managers, and she was very transparent and professional with me and she made me feel comfortable as a new car owner by answering any questions I had. I have a fractured foot. I went in at 1:15pm on 12/29 with crutches. - Keith told me he would do my inspection. I told him there was no check engine light, but my blinker needed to be replaced. He said he wouldn't "break my shoes" over the inspection. He told me there would be a 4 hour wait, and that I should come back in 2 hours and he would "take care of me". I came back at 4pm. My son handed him a $20 tip in advance to show our gratitude. Post inspection, Keith stated I needed two tires, brake pads and rotors in the back and a blinker bulb, all totaling over $800. I asked him what happened to taking care of me. I went home with a broken foot and returned when he said to, and he gladly accepted that tip. He said, "my boss says we can get a $2500 fine if anyone finds out. But hey, how about you sign up for a Mavis credit card?" I was fuming. I told him to give me my car keys, my car, and the receipt. I waited outside. A latino gentleman came out and said, " I apologize for the inconvenience. NYS charges pass or fail, and required the $37.00. Next time you can just get everything fixed and pay $27.00 for a reinspect. Here is the $20 from the other guy." I asked for the older gentleman's name who falsely advertised services and led me into deception, and he went back in the store and wrote down the name Keith, and brought it back to me. I'm not sure what the name of the older white gentleman with all rotted teeth really is, but "Keith", you really should be ashamed of yourself. What you did was wrong, and you have soured me from returning to that establishment due to your behavior today. Lesson learned, do not trust someone when they see you with a broken foot and send you home, only for you to return and they fail your car and offer you a credit card promotion. I do not recommend going to this location especially if you are a female. The manager Eric spoke rudely, disrespectfully, and sarcastically towards me as if I was stupid. This location wore down my oil plug from their last oil change on my car, first, they told me to come down, they'll fix it and give me a free oil change, then I went down there to find out they can't take me in to come back the next day. To add to this, I go down there and all I smell is weed and hear loud inappropriate music. I go back after work to be told they can't fix it, they didn't do that, and that is when Eric the manager spoke disgustingly to me. After getting frustrated, I told him I was not stupid and to shut up. He then decided to aggressively walk out, get my car off the lift and left my car in the middle of the parking lot without telling me, running for 15 minutes. During this time, I was speaking with a different worker who was very respectful, professional, and who wanted to listen and help with what I was dealing with with this oil plug issue. Eric claimed he called Corporate after being asked to do so and was told Corporate said no they won't help. I decided to call corporate on my own and was told he did not call them, and that a regional manager will call me. Two days later I got a call basically applauding the disgusting behavior from Eric, who then told me there was nothing they could do to help my situation. My mom USED TO use this location incessantly a few years ago for literally everything her car had issues with. They were fast, fair and even had spare cars for you to use when you had to wait for work to be done! Sounds great right?! Well I'm not sure if they switched owners or what happen but I've been using them for the past few months now and its been one headache after another. First of all at the very least it's a TIRE SHOP.. how is it that I've brought the same two tires to you guys with the same problems and after 6months still can't get these tires to stop deflating within a few hours. The tires have been replaced, plugged, beads with sand on them fixed etc etc and still the same two tires deflate after filling within a few hours. But I'll digress on that one.. Then stupid me, i listen to them when they tell me my shocks and struts need to be replaced. At their recommendation! And they say they can do the work!.. the front desk person puts me on a recorded line I say do the work! I'm agreeing! order whatever parts! etc. great! No... two weeks go by and I don't hear about parts coming in so I call, to find out they never ordered the parts bc it has to be done by a manager... would've been nice to know but ok. so I say let me talk to the manager and get the parts. Ok $500 down payment to order whatever. I agree to it! Then the entire day goes by, to find out they don't want to take my money until they find the parts, they have to do some searching and investigating bc my suspension is this and they don't make XYZ anymore whatever BS the manager Keith told me but Ok noble. I guess thanks for not taking money you had no business taking... So last Thursday I was supposed to get a call from the manager and it's now Monday. I call again and now the manager isn't in today!. IM DONE. IM SO BEYOND OVER IT! Who claims to be able to do work and then doesn't follow through?.. if you're capable of doing the work WHY WOULD YOU TURN AWAY A $2-3,000.00+ JOB?! Why would you jerk a consistent customer around like that?!?! This shop is a complete joke. Brought my mothers car to get fixed. Took it to Selden to be worked on because a family member works in Coram and didn't want it to be a conflict of interest. They give my sister a quote of or around $200 to be fixed. Great. Almost a week later and car is not fixed. But apparently there's a note in the system by District Manager Liz, that parts and service are being refused to be paid? No one said anything about not paying. We went out of our way to take it to a shop that we knew no family members worked at, again so there was no funny business or conflict of interest . I had an10am appointment for an inspection, Mike the manager told me when I arrived that it will be a 3 hour wait and if I wanted to com back at 1:30pm he would get me in. When I returned a 1:30pm Mike told me abruptly "I can't do your inspection today" I told him but I have an appointment and you told me to come back. He said "we do not take appointments for inspections." I explained and showed him my reservation from the online web site. He then told me they have no affiliation with the web site and he does not take appointments for inspections. I ask why di you tell me to come back at 1:30 then and why did you not say that at 10am when I was here? He just shrugged it off. Mean while while I was there he took in a tire replacement that the customer ordered online. I was in the store earlier in the month and a different manager was profession and pleasant, but I will never go to this Mavis again and maybe any other as well. read more

This place is a complete rip off!!!! Go to any other location! They had a guy here taking money from people pretending to do work to your car and guess what?! He did nothing at all.... So boom... I went here because my ABS light was on also heard some squeaking when I would stop the car.... All signs point to? Brakes right?..... simple enough.... So I take my car to this place because I recently moved from Nassau to Suffolk and am too far from my regular mechanic.... So one of the shady looking mechanics take the car and look at it then comes back and says the price for front and rear brakes. Ok no problem. I wait. I wait. I wait. Car is complete the guy comes out and says u can just hand the cash to me. Now normally I would think this is shady but the cashier gives me a receipt so what's the issue? So long story short my ABS light was still on plus brakes still squeaking. So I take it to my old mechanic all the way in Nassau and says there was no work done to this car. Now I'm furious! I go to mavis and ask for the mechanic, of course they fired him so I tell them my issue and that it wasn't fixed. They say it's nothing they can do and that the guy made a side deal and was fired because of all his side deal.... So the manager was aware of the guy doing shady business and allowed it to go on! Some of the worst customer service by the manager I have see in a long time. I had just purchased 2 tires and front and rear brakes. I hit a pothole and went back to replace the brand new tire that just got destroyed. I was given a price of $166 (the same I just paid 2 weeks ago). They were busy so I left and came back an hour later. I guess the manager didnt like the price and it went up $40 in an hour. The excuse I got was that prices of everything went up. So they lied too. **EDIT- FYI- I went back to the shop today 11/24/2020 and spoke to the Store Manager Joe, he listened and acknowledge what happened, showed empathy with a genuine apology and offered to fix the damage that was caused to my rims by the employees(he confirmed the damage from the tire machine, which Elizabeth the regional manager basically called me a liar and asked if I ever hit a pot hole or what year my car was because "it matters". You don't get chips/cracks on the side of your rims from a pot hole, that was damaged. The TPMS was corrected on my dashboard as well. He offered to fully rectify the situation with the tires, which I appreciated, I just would not feel comfortable with my car at this shop at all. Original review: BEWARE! DO NOT GO HERE! I've never experienced such terrible customer service. If I could leave this place negative stars I would, Yelp makes me give one star & they don't even deserve one star. I had called up the call center and ordered four Michelin defender LTX tires on Thursday, 11/19/2020 Spoke with the representative and he assured me that my tires would be at the Selden location by Saturday 11/21 and I could come in on Monday 8 AM to get all four tires done. I drop my car off Monday morning at 8 AM left it there they called me around 12 to let me know my car was done I got there 1230 to pick up my car even applied for the Mavis credit card and paid and then go out to my car and because I am diligent I checked my tires and it turned out they put the incorrect tires on my car and they put all four Michelin lattitude tours. I went back inside and the guy Anthony told me he did not know how this happened they must have just read Michelin on the tire and put them on my car because that's what was in stock, so clearly they didn't think to check the work order and make sure they had the correct tires on my vehicle, meanwhile in the morning the guy who took my keys verified with me I was getting defenders. So I ask what are we going to do to correct this and he tells me to leave with my car today and come back tomorrow Tuesday at 8 AM and they will swap out my tires for the correct ones. I called corporate when I got home and I spoke to Elizabeth the regional manager she apologized but was defending the store and had moments of being rude herself and then said she spoke with the store and they would have the tires by 12pm and I can go swap them out meanwhile Anthony told me to come back first thing in the morning. Clearly nobody knows anything at this place. After speaking with Elizabeth for a second time I just asked if I could just return the tires get my original tires put back on my car and get a refund because I don't even want to deal with it or trust them at this point and she said sure to go back to the store and they would take care of that. I go back to the store and Anthony says he would personally take care of my car well he did not, everybody else was taking care of my car while he stood around and watched for the most part. It took them over an hour to take these off and put my original tires back on because they were all standing around talking. After I got my car back I check the tire pressure and they were all incorrect, I ask if they can double check the pressure and the tire sensor, they advise me they will "level out" as soon as I start driving but the tire sensor would need to be reset, Anthony tells me his sensor machine is "broken" and the only way he could do that is if he goes to the Coram store and gets their machine (so technically they have me back my car without resetting the tire sensor as they should have) and then why would Ramon ask is my tire sensor was just replaced meanwhile I never had this issue until I left my car at mavis. I asked if I come back tomorrow would they reset the tire sensor so I can know the correct tire pressure. The workers basically a were all laughing in my face about the situation nobody wanted tore tidy the issue or help me. Anthony was a staring at me blankly, smirking like he thinks it's funny and answering multiple phones instead of taking care of me the customer in front of him with a problem and giving me my refund. My 2 back rims were left damaged from the machine. This place is a joke, the people that work there are all unprofessional and a joke. I would NEVER go to another mavis in my life. Save yourself the troubles and go somewhere else with professionalism and know how to treat their customers. Went in here because its close to my house and I needed an oil change. My regular place is further and I needed my car back same day to get to work in the AM. They call me after an hour and tell me I need two rear shocks replaced because they are leaking and I need an alignment. Looking at $450. Looking at 2 weeks until I can get to my regular place so I say okay sure. First, nobody calls me to tell me it is done. I have to call them. Second, I pick it up, they did not do the work. Great. It was closing time and I needed my car to get to the work for the week, so I don't even mention it. Whatever. Receipt says I declined the work. (Lie) Third, I pay $103 for an oil change. Regular place is $55. Fourth and foremost, I finally am able to get it to my regular place. I drop it off and within the hour they tell me, get ready for this: My rear shocks are fine and I do not need an alignment. It drives well. Shocks are not leaking, just have some track marks which they say is probably what the guy at Mavis saw. Lucky me I guess that the employee I got was so incompetent, I ended up saving myself over $400 and unnecessary work. I wonder if the mechanic was incompetent, trying to take advantage of a young women, both? Who knows. Can't assume I guess. Do yourself a favor and take your car to the guys at Mastic Wheel Alignment and Brane Services instead of this place. 5 star rating, family owned and operated, honest. read more

After a tire blow out on the LIE this morning, we made it to Mavis in Selden at 525 Middle Country Road. Kevin and the team were incredibly generous and accommodating. We were in a rush to meet family so they immediately aired up our spare, changed our flat tire, checked the other three, and sent us on our way with nothing more than best wishes (no bill). Piss poor service! My personal opinion. I thought to give this place a shot for a simple inspection, dropped off my car and told the Managment there I would be back in an hour or two to pick it up. Almost four hours later car has even been moved from where I parked it. I walked in and there is no one in the front desk while two mechanics are working on cars. While they stair a the people in the lobby who walked in with me the try to ignore the fact that there are potential customers waiting. The place didn't even seem busy. So they do nothing to address or acknowledged myself and two other people who walked in along side me. 10 minutes go by and no one comes out to help. I walked over to the other door and asked if there was someone who can help in the front desk and they simple say give them a few minutes. Another 5 minutes go by and the manger according to him comes out just says your car is not ready. No reasoning or explanation to even make an attempt to defuse the situation. So I simply asked for my keys and the look on his was fine I DONT GIVE A F#%k about your business. So this place or company (mavis) will not get any of my business. I was told three different prices for the same set of tires by three different people (the price kept going up). I had to push to get that sorted out. Makes me wonder what games they are playing with the prices. Beware of that. The guys here seemed to not care about having my business. The two of them that I dealt with were cold, never smiled, and seemed to begrudgingly comply with my price match request and concerns about the price discrepancy. I definitely felt like I wasn't welcome. I've had better customer service experience elsewhere. Enough mushy stuff, after all that they put the wrong tires on my car. Right size but wrong model tires (slightly cheaper ones with a 70k warranty instead of 80k), and not the ones I wanted. Also if I didn't make a case for myself they would have charged me the price for the higher model, even after I told them they put the wrong ones on. They didn't even apologize for that mix up. A little detail: the spare tire was not put back in its place it was left in my trunk. I will give them one thing, I left my vehicle there at 1:30pm and it was ready for pick up by 4pm. Other folks here complained about slowness but I didn't have that problem. I would not recommend this place and I prayed that the guys here find their peace and joy in Jesus because they really seemed so miserable and unhappy. My message to the owner: invest in your employees and pick the right ones to work up front, not everyone knows how to treat a customer. Please avoid this place until you see reviews getting better. Those at the front desk were courteous and professional. I was treated fairly and honestly. The prices were lower than several other places that I had checked. I have always enjoyed it when the mechanic comes and talks with me about possible issues and takes the time to show and explain these to me.
