I took it back and they lowered the tank slightly so the valve could open. Not long after my check engine light came on and codes P0442 and P0446 popped up. The mechanic admitted they put the gas tank on too tight, which led to the solenoid malfunction. They offered to fix it for $500! I don't recommend anyone take their vehicle here. They have a pattern of creating more problems for their customers than solving them.

Although Coram Firestone shared they didn't carry the brand of tire I needed on my Volvo, Shawn advised me that for safety reasons, "there was no way he was letting me drive back to CT with the spare (a mini donut) I had in my trunk." Shawn went out of his way to locate my specific brand of tire, got it in the shop same day (which even my Volvo dealership couldn't do), and installed it. I've never heard a customer say a bad word about him, and he has been the only person who worked on my cars for the past 8 years that I've been driving (granted he gave me the cars.. so that's probably why). He just upgraded the shop to have another lift, so he can work on more cars. Yay! His is nice and the only mechanic in the shop, and we all know how nice it is to actually talk to the person responsible for working on your vehicle. When I was little (okay i still do) I used to stand on the pneumatic lifts and make them go up and down... it's fun. Maybe he'll let you do it if you're nice. Who knows. Yay dad!

I didn't have a ride, so I asked how long would it take and they said 1h30m. As I was waiting, I told them that I was going to wait at Panera next door. After 1h30m, I came back, the car was starting to be looked into. After another 45 minutes I was told that my car needed 4 tires to pass the inspection, and they were going to start changing the oil, so I asked them why did it take 2h15m minutes to figure out that my car needed 4 tires and the oil change was still pending. 30 second after the manager, Mario, came out and gave me a big attitude, saying they take the time they feel it's necessary raising his voice at me, and stated that if I had to go to the doctor, I would've waited without complaining. He was very rude and far from having a "manager" profile. In the first 30 to 40 minutes they could've called me and let me know that the inspection would not pass without replacing the tires and I would just ask them to replace them end of story. Very bad service especially coming from a "manager".

However the team at this shop were incredible every step of the way. I always knew the status of my repairs thanks to Ryan keeping up with me, and I barely had to speak to insurance because he handled everything. The owner Gene is a master at paintless dents and also helped in fixing a separate issue of damage unrelated to the accident. When I got my car back it felt brand new--cleaned, vacuumed, and waxed. After spending $1,000 I was assured that DMV would pass my car because of the amount of money I spent and it failed for mechanical issues, not safety issues. After months of texts and calls to them, then an irate text because then I got a ticket for the inspection in OCTOBER, they told me they spent too many hours on the phone with DMV, 80+ hours, blah blah blah, and they were done. So I call DMV myself and within 1/2 hour on the phone, my job (which was really their job) was done. DMV had to contact them because the receipt they gave me was not written up properly according to DMV. Needless to say, Rich was accurate with what he said about DMV passing it, but it had to be reinspected within a month, from May to October didn't qualify!!! DMV had them redo the inspection and lo and behold, it's taken care of. They cannot honestly tell me they spend that many hours with DMV yet I accomplished all, the call, emailing DMV, everything, in 30 minutes!! As far as I'm concerned, they got their $1,000 and left me out to dry, having to do their job for them!!! I'd rather walk then to have my car repaired by them again. I hate nothing more than an untrustworthy liar and that's what they are. So if you're looking for a reliable mechanic... KEEP LOOKING!!!! If you're looking to get screwed, Rich and Shawn are your men and best of luck to you, you'll need it! *Please note...
