I should have left before the car was even brought into the garage. I walked in and the girl at the counted asked what I came in for. I explained my daughter stopped there earlier to put air in a tire and it was low again within minutes. She immediately said you probably need a new tire. Sight unseen. I said maybe, I dont know, can someone look at it. She said it would be about 15 minutes. Ok not bad, I took a seat. She went into the garage and started screaming at the mechanic like he was a 2 year old drawing with a sharpie on the wall. How unprofessional and mean she was, I was very uncomfortable. Then he brought my car in. A few minutes later she waved me over to come see the nail in the tire, too close to the sidewall to repair. They both kept telling me it was bubbling when they sprayed it but it was not plain water, it was bubbly everywhere. I did see a tiny nail though. So she priced out a new tire but has to order it. I said I would see if someone else had it. Tried calling the Lake Parsippany store but got the call center. Very nice young lady who said there was one about 48 miles away they could get for tomorrow morning, she offered me a decent discount, and I gave her a $25 deposit. I told the girl in the store who promised to call me as soon as it got there so I could come in for them to mount and balance it. I asked her to have the spare put on. She said they were not allowed to put on a"half spare". Whatever that is, I assume she meant donut. I said this is a tire shop are you kidding. She said no, we are not allowed to any more, try Pep boys up the road maybe they can. For real???? Well that was the best advice ever! I called even though I would be passing right by and the manager was just as surprised as I was that they wouldn't do it. He said come right over I will help you, even after I told him I was coming from Mavis. So he asked if I had time for him to put the car on the lift and see where this nail was and why they couldn't patch it. I said please go right ahead. I went over to help them find it easier because I knew what I was looking for and there were no bubbles when they sprayed water on it in fact the manager pulled it out and it wasn't even in the tire it was stuck in the tread it was so tiny. They kept spraying and found a real nail in the middle of the tire. Mavis didn't find it they just wanted to sell me a new tire for $250. Between the incompetence and unprofessionalism and oddity that they couldn't even put a spare on for me, they've lost a customer for life. This was not the only negative experience I've had with that store, but I expected places like that to try and sell you things you don't need I just say no. This was for worse. And they let me drive off with a tire that lost 10 pounds of air within a few minutes of them filling it. Never again. Stay far away! read more

I called ahead to see if they sold and installed wiper blades and to ask if someone could check my tire pressure. Patrick said absolutely and welcomed me to bring in my car at my convenience. When entering the store I was greeted by JR who addressed me by name. I was a bit confused and surprised as I never gave anyone that information. Only to realize that he glimpsed at my plate number when I parked. Talk about being proactive and ready. I had previously visited them for a new tire so my info was in their data base. Agreed to and paid for 4 new tires and all new brakes/rotors on my wife's car. Brakes were making a loud squeaking noise since the job was completed. After looking closer at the work that was done we discovered the both rear rotors were not replaced or had severely rusted after only 3 months. When I returned to this location to speak to the manager I was told he "had never seen a part rust so quickly" which made me question if they had ever been changed in the first place. He said he would "try" to warranty the part and then explained he would give me the same (defective) part that was on the car or, if I wanted to pay the difference, get a better quality rotor. So two hours on a Sunday and two hours on Monday interrupting my weekend and Monday work schedule this company charged me to "upgrade" to a part that won't rust. I found this place to get my alignment done. I asked for the alignment specification sheet that shows the before and after caster camber and tow, and they just tossed me a random sheet for another car. For clarification, my truck is a 2018 Land Cruiser that has independent front suspension that is adjustable, and the rear has solid axle that's un adjustable. I feel terrible to write this as Westfield and Plainfield Mavis' were my go to for regular oil changes. I came to the Parsippany location for an oil change and immediately they said that my front struts were shot and needed to be replaced after doing a "bounce test". They gave me pricing etc... funny though, I brought my car into factory Toyota dealership and their service guys noted that my struts were fine. A little happier After taking the car to BMW to check the tires, they determined that it was the valve of the tire and not a faulty tire. So they fixed the valve and Realigned the car...Mavis credited the alignment back so all is basically ok. Sloppy work by Mavis but they did right at the end. Thank you Mavis! Everytime I've gone in I've had an incredible experience here. Today I went in because I was having an issue with my tire. Had no appointment. Was tended to as soon as I walked through the door and didn't have to wait. Raijaan fixed my issue in less than ten minutes. No charge or fee or wait time, incredibly rare to find. Prior to high inflation of 2022 my experience with Mavis was great at this location. However, today I went to them with what seemed to be a leak in the drivers size rear tire. It was a nail, they said they could fix it. It did not occur to me I needed to get a quote for what used to be about $10-15.00 to get a plug. They repaired, and my shock at checkout, $34.00 for a plug. Talk about crazy inflation. I am kicking myself for not going to Costco, they charge $12.00. But lesson learned, no matter how small or how large do your research and ask for quotes before you buy ANYTHING!! read more

I can't say enough good things about this Mavis. I've never had a bad experience. The guys there bend over backwards to me anytime I walk in the door. The customer service is impeccable. As a female, I never feel taken advantage of when I go here. They always help out and always do a great job with any repair work. Did I mention how nice they are? I will never go to another mechanic! I had an appt at 830am and I was still waiting at 9am while another customer was there also waiting with the mechanics had obnoxious rap music playing and not doing any work.. the manager was on his cell phone outside and we were still waiting for our vehicles to get serviced on, which they were outside in the parking lot . The outrageous prices that thet charge for minimal work is pathetic. They tell you that your service is a minimum of three hours at 120/hr plus the cost of the tires and work... Pains me to write this review. I had to get two tires put on and an alignment. Mid way through service I get a call from the mechanic recommending my back brakes and schocks be replaced. His exact words were "your back brakes are 95% gone". My car was just recently purchased with no issues. Immediately a red flag went up when he started wheeling and dealing. Anyways, unknown to him, I have a regular and consistent mechanic but he doesn't do alligmements. Took it to my mechanic and my back brakes and shocks are "BRAND NEW". He enlightened me in letting me know these guys work for commission. Now that makes sense! BE CAREFUL and get a second opinion. Such deceit would have cost me well over a grand. I had scheduled an apponitment for my van a Mavis in Parsippany to replace 2 tires, they told me I had to wait for 1-1.5 hour for the work. I said okay after 2.5 hours my van was still in the parking lot and the workers were going for lunch. they would not tell how much longer I had to wait. I lost half day from work and got nothing accomplished. I called Customer service the said the district Manager would call me back. After a disappointing experience with Bloomfield, NJ Mavis tire shop, I called this Parsippany location and they took me right away. I wanted to keep going to Bloomfield because it is closer to my house but after this past weekend (3/3/18) I will only be coming to Mavis Tires at Parsippany on Rt. 46. Their customer service exceeded expectations and they worked as quickly as possible. Stopped in about twenty minutes ago for a simple oil change. The man working the counter was condescending since the moment I walked in, and very kind to a gentleman who walked in just after me. When I asked for prices of two different oil changes you would think I personally insulted him. He and one other employee could not open the hood of my car. I explained how I've always done it, the standard way, and they said it must be broken and to go to my dealership to get it fixed. Needless to say I am now 3 minutes down the road at their competitor getting an oil change. Hood opened perfectly fine, exactly the way you would open any standard hood. I tried to call them back to personally tell them this instead of writing a review, but the first time I was hung up on and the second time they kept me on hold. read more

I am a college student working part-time, so my schedule is already limited enough. My dad and I scheduled an appointment for 9:30 a.m. I have waited for 5 hours, and my car is still being worked on. I had already called out of work and now I will be late to my night class because one of these "mechanics" is having trouble with a tire rod. The customer service is just plain shitty as no one came and said, "I'm sorry young man. This is taking longer than expected." Considering they told me I would be out of here by 12 p.m., I would reccommend that you all steer clear of this dump and go somewhere else. Hope this helps. read more

After price was corrected other services were offered at extra cost which wasn't needed. On top of that the supervisor was trying to offer me shocks and strut change which wasn't needed. Being a car technician -which he didn't know, I was aware and caught him out when he wasn't being specific about the work required.
