I sent an E:mail to Mr. Angelo Inglima, who is listed as the current owner of the Stanhope Discount Tire Centers on Saturday, April 20th, 2024 along with pictures of my issue with their service. Two full weeks later, I haven't even received a phone call saying that my issue is being looked in to. I don't like to give negative reviews, especially to small, family- owned businesses, but since they have not even acknowledged my complaint, I have no other recourse but to give this review and forward my issue to Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau. It took me a couple of months to absorb what happened and address the issue as friends of mine use this business, and of course I told my friends too. I made the appointment and drove 27 miles out of my way to give them my business as I want to support family business. I called and made an appointment to have my tires rotated and balanced to keep up with my recommended maintenance from the dealership and CARFAX. I showed up on time for my 1pm appointment on February 22nd, 2024. They initially had no idea I had an appointment and called the Newton NJ too check and see if I was scheduled there. Then the lady present remembered I had made the appointment. Roughly fifteen minutes later, I was told my car was ready. I handed him sixty dollars cash and five dollars for the tip. Since he did not hand me a receipt, I figured it was on the seat of dashboard of my car, but there was no receipt. I went back in for a receipt and they really did not want to give me one. I said I needed a computerized receipt that was reported to CARFAX to show I was keeping up with my maintenance. The lady went out to my car for my mileage and gave me a handwritten receipt. She said they do not give computer receipts, nor do they report to CARFAX. Had she told me that in the first place, I would have taken my business somewhere else. Also, confusing is the fact that they never gave me a report on the condition of my five-year-old tires, which the other businesses I have gone to have. Other businesses have informed me of how the tires are wearing, are they safe, how many more miles do I have before replacement, etc. I don't believe they checked or adjusted tire pressure, as other places do and notate on their COMPUTERIZED RECEIPTS that are automatically reported to CARFAX. Finally, even small businesses take your name and address to put in a computer data base so they can track your service needs. They did not. And after mulling this over in my mind for the past few months I think they did not want me to come back for reasons I will not mention here except to say that there were things I noticed after returning directly home and parking the car in my driveway. I, incidentally, have not driven my car since then. It is my second car and has stayed parked in my driveway since February 22nd. In my letter to them 2 weeks ago, I requested that the owner review his security cameras both inside and outside of the store on that date as I know most modern cameras record both visual and audio. I also requested to view these tapes myself. I E-mailed copies of receipts from my dealership, and CARFAX showing that I needed my record for tire rotation and balancing updated. I also e-mailed copies of receipts from another company that document on computerized receipts and forward the info to CARFAX. Finally, I e-mailed them pictures of the area on my car I had concerns about. As I stated, I don't like to give a negative review, but as I took the time to write my concerns out in detail along with photocopies and pertinent pictures, and they did not even take the time to contact me by e-mail or phone to say my issues were being looked in to, I have no other choice. read more

Found out I had to take a last minute unplanned trip to Buffalo NY right before Christmas to say goodbye to a family member in hospice. I found these guys through google and a online site(Mytireshop). While I grew up in Western NY and am used to the harsh winter weather, my girlfriend is not and I wanted the car to be as safe as possible for her while we are there as we will probably be there a couple weeks. They were able to locate some top of the line winter tires for me the day before and get me in immediately the next day as i was planning to leave around 3pm. Also the price was extremely reasonable, on par even Sams Club and BJs . Unfortunately the delivery didn't make it to their shop on time but they did a bit of moving stuff around and were able to get me my tires at another location of theirs about 8 miles away. When i arrived at the shop they took me right in and had me out of there in probably less than 30 minutes!!! Can't thank you guys enough! Have plenty of time to roll into there and miss the big storm coming in...... Going to need some high performance tires for my Challenger in the spring and potentially even some new rims as I have a bent one from a NJ pothole...Ill be reaching out Thanks again and Happy Holidays read more

Nice clean store, friendly staff. Easy to find and park, right on Rt. 206 South in Stanhope. I stopped in to have a small tire (as in snowblower) tubed/repaired and was pleasantly greeted and offered a solution. Could not have asked for more. Will definitely return when the time comes for car tires. read more

I'm really sorry to do this to you guys, I know your trying your best but my experience was not good at all. Here's what happened: I did some research to get the cheapest tires and change as I could and I found these guys. They offered the best rate, a decent tire and quick turnaround. I brought the car in, didn't realize that they don't have a car lift, or an indoor garage. It's a kid in the back changing the wheels with a jack. I said "ok whatever, I'll give them a shot" The guys at the counter were nice, even the guy in the back was friendly. All said and done I left feeling good about myself thinking I saved a few bucks. Immediately my car rattled at 70-80 mph under acceleration. It was snowing bad so I thought that maybe the rattle was snow caught in the wheel or something and it wasn't so terrible that I couldn't drive it. It warmed up and the rattle was still there. I then brought the car to a local STS, full disclosure I did not contact Nj discount tire again as I simply didn't trust that even if I brought it back, they would do a good job even if they got the rattle to go away. It turns out all four tires were not balanced (1-2 ounces off) and cost me 90 bucks to fix. Basically you get what you pay for, and unfortunately these guys don't have the right tools for the job, take your car to a proper tire place. read more

The original owner, Paul no longer owns the business unfortunately. The business is now operating next door at Full Moon Motorcycles. They apparently know nothing or don't care about customer service . Prices are higher and there seems to be an air of dishonesty the feeling to make a fast buck apparent. read more

DON'T be taken by Angelo's charm! I used them for "discount" tires and while I did get the inexpensive tires I needed, they cross threaded lugs on THREE wheels and the rims had to be DESTROYED TO REMOVE THEM! I've learned my lesson. You get what you pay for - and boy, did I! You're better off going to a shop that knows how to do an easy job CORRECTLY! It's cost me a set of rims, new wheel bearings - NOT because mine were bad, ONLY because mine were DESTROYED in order to even get the wheels off of my vehicle! My original plan was to return to them for upgraded tires - NOT ANYMORE! READ THE BELOW REVIEWS - "kid in the back with a jack to change your tires", "no lift or indoor shop" - EXACTLY my experience and I wish I had heeded the advice of the others on this place! read more

NJ Discount Tire ll is very excellent. They carry the best tires at a very competitive price. The owner, Angelo is friendly and knowledgeable. The show room is very comfortable. While you wait you can watch TV and have coffee and donuts along with friendly chat with the staff. I highly recommend Discount Tire. Enjoy! They actually make getting new tires enjoyable. Angelo and his crew are top notch. Iv'e been dealing with him since he first opened. He always gets me the tires I want at the best price. Today I needed tires for my Audi A4. They are notorious for having frozen lug bolts. And of course 1 of mine was frozen. Most tire shops would have sent me away saying i needed a new very expensive hub. Not Angelo he told me I would take some time to drill it out but he was confident it could be done. And of course he got it done with no expense to me. The. ONLY place I will ever go to. True professionals! They use a torque wrench to assure that your wheels are on correctly. NOT overtightened .. that is HUGE! (you'll find out how huge if you ever get a flat while on the road) Great prices too. Go there. read more

There are a lot of tire places around here. Some of them might look fancier or be big chain stores, but none of them combine both excellent pricing with excellent customer service. I have now bought tires here twice in the last year, and both times they gave me far better pricing than the local competitors and went above and beyond in providing great customer service. Do yourself a favor and call them when you need tires. read more

Called for an estimate on two affordable tires and was given a quote of $99 per tire which needed to be ordered and would take 1-2 days to receive. I was told that was the best price I would get. Mavis Tires is across the street and gave me a much better price for all purpose tires. The building they are in has previously been a liquor store and a bike shop so I can't imagine that they have the correct tools and equipment to do a thorough job. I am not willing to pay such a high price for a job that may not even be professionally done. Went to Mavis for great prices, customer service and the correct equipment and professionals to do the job. read more
