I encourage anyone to give this place the opportunity to resolve your car problems. 5 stars starts when I'm in the lobby and hear a mechanic talking to customer and giving them honest answers to ?s "do I need to get this fixed right now" that type thing. Next thing I hear the family talking of how honest Freeway is and how they're sure another shop would've told them they need etc etc etc. Prior to moving to NJ, always had a personal mechanic, never dealt with an official shop(Few dealership stops), slightly a skeptic. Recently had a what turned out to be a water pump related issue. Car is not drivable. Desperation: find a mechanic who can come to the car. Let's just say I had no confidence in the work but the car was "drivable" and that's short term. What now......I remember the place I purchased tires from and how I felt during that process. Wasn't upsold, wasn't pressured. I read recent and historic reviews. So I get the car to Freeway. Summarizing, I was very pleased with the communication Anthony, Chris and staff provided ahead of the job, during the job, and after. If I could rewind would've just towed the car to Freeway. They've won a client, although I prefer we not have reason to see each other often lol. Appreciate the dialogue I had with Chris regarding the current state of my vehicle. Copied from my personal Facebook 8/29/18: So you know I bought my dream car 2 1/2 years ago. I love my Tahoe. I also love my job which happens to be 40 miles away. Within these 2 1/2 years, I logged 66,000 miles on my new truck. A few weeks ago my AC went on the fritz. It was hotter than two squirrels humping in a wool sock. I had one problem, even though this was a known issue for my truck, Chevrolet wouldn't warranty it because I had more than 60,000 miles. I was up the proverbial creek without the paddle. I reached out to my trusted mechanic Anthony Porfido, the owner of Freeway Auto. He did what he had to do and was able to find the problem - the evaporator located behind my dash had a leak. It was a 19 hour repair. Once the car was dismantled, they inspected the evaporator under black light and confirmed the leak. Fast forward to today, I had to turn off the AC because it was unbearably cold in the truck. If you need any work done to your car, there is no other place I can recommend other than Freeway. His workers are aces, his customer service is something to be envied, and the quality of work has no comparison. Thanks Ant for taking care of me. Original review some time ago: Great spot. Have rims on my new truck so I wanted to get a set of winter tires and not risk damaging them. Bought a set of rims off my friend and went to this place to order the tires. Luckily I didn't order the tires online because what I thought I wanted would not have worked for me since I drive 40 miles one way to work. Hey. I could write a dissertation on why you should abandon your current mechanic and go to Freeway Tire Pros but you'd get bored and move on. What i will tell you is that they're honest, been in business forever with the same mechanics AND will never try to sell you anything you don't need. I trust nobody by and large. It's refreshing to find honest places these days. I have no doubt this place will ever try to sell you something you don't need or fix something that really didn't need fixing. I love it that if you buy your tires here, they will rotate and repair your tire if there is. Nail in it free of charge. The staff are so efficient and friendly and are so knowledgeable. I had an issue with my tire, so I stopped by Freeway since I was in the area. When I got out of my car, one of the technicians looked at me and said, "Are you lost?" in an annoyed tone. I have had bad luck with nails and my tires. In the past three years I have had four tires get a nail in them. This company was recommended to me for tires though they do a lot of auto repair as well. I went in thinking they would just tell me I need a new tire each time. This was not the case at all. They were able to repair three of the tires but one of them had a nail in the side wall and could not be repaired. The tire I needed to replace they did not have in stock. They sent me down the street to Goodyear so I could get the tire the same day. Very honest people and very accommodating. I highly recommend them! read more

I too, am now a customer for life. I was impressed with their honesty and the quality of their service. In one instance, I came in for new tires and a break job, but was told that I didn't need new breaks yet. Something other shops would happily do to make an easy buck. On another occasion, I went to another shop (stupidly) and was told that my car needed new shocks, struts, 1 wheel bearing, and 4 tires at over $2k. yikes! I went to Freeway for a competing quote, but yet again, was told that all I needed was 2 new tires. With this kind of honesty and the quality of their repairs, I would pick Freeway even if they were significantly pricier than the competition. Thankfully, that's not the case. I ordered a set of tires online and had them delivered to them to mount and balance. I have to say I was extremely delighted at the whole experience. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was taken care of immediately. As soon as my work order was written up a technician was there to get the work order and key to my car and immediately started working on it. After it was all done the total price actually ended up being lower than I expected. The place I used to go to would have charged me 3 times as much to do the same work. I would give this garage negative stars if I could. I wouldn't take my car back to these thieves if they paid me. This place charged me nearly $400 to diagnose a problem with my car only to advise me that they couldn't fix the problem and that I have to take it to the dealer, who is again going to charge me to diagnose the problem. Moreover, the problem with the car was obvious enough and didn't need to be diagnosed in order for them to know that they wouldn't be able to fix it from the outset. I asked them twice if they would be able to fix the problem prior to the mechanic looking at the vehicle because I knew from the other garages I had look at the car that it would likely have to go to the dealer due to the difficulty of the job, and they gave me a resounding "yes" and even advised me that if they couldn't fix it that they would bring someone in that could, which was the only reason I brought my car there. What a joke!! This garage represents exactly what is wrong with the automotive industry and why no one trusts car mechanics or dealers. They are predators ripping people off. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this den of thieves. read more

I was referred to them by my mechanic. The woman picking up the phone a an A$$. ZERO phone etiquette. automatically puts you on hold.... and leaves you on hold for at least five minutes. This happened to me THREE times. I have no time or patience for this nonsense. AND if that wasn't enough they quoted me $1,200.00 worth of suspension work. I got into a minor accident on Friday, I called this place which my dealership recommended and even though they were completely booked on Saturday, they were able to squeeze me in! I was referred to Freeway in October 2015 for four new tires on my Acura. I'm so glad I took the advice of Denville Bear and Body who recommended them. Anthony at Freeway researched the tires needed for my car and I ended up saving at least $250 on four tires compared to what the dealer quoted me. Anthony and his staff are professional and very efficient. I just had to make an emergency visit to Freeway this morning because I got a flat tire last night and the doughnut tire was put on as a temporary replacement. Anthony was able to fit me right into the schedule and I was out of there within 20 minutes, with my old tire repaired and they also checked and put air in the doughnut for the next time -- if I ever get another flat tire and have to use it. I am so pleased with their level of service and there was no charge for the repair since I purchased my tires there. Also, the waiting room and restroom are clean and pleasant. read more
