This is a bit lengthy but deserved. In Arizona, air…read moreconditioning is as important as water. Without it for nine months, you would suffer. We bought a 50-year-old home four years ago. The AC unit was at least 15 years old and struggling. We approached different companies about service and repair; one tech, Sebastian of Reiss Air Conditioning, shined in explaining the challenges of our old system and nursing it through three summers. This summer it would give out, so we asked Reiss for some solutions. They came up with a plan to replace the AC unit and update the old duct distribution system. Such a project would also require installing a new electrical panel, to replace the original. We can report that the project is completed and we couldn't be more satisfied in the work. What made a challenging project attainable? The expertise and customer focus of the Reiss crew. First, every Reiss tech -- Antonio, Phoenix, Marcus, Pablo and Marco -- was professional, on time, conscientious and patient. We set appointments and were reminded the day before and day of. Each respected our home and our time. Second, Jedi and Zane completed the switch to the new electrical box without a problem. They identified unlabeled connections and finished the project with clean tags for each appliance and location. Third, Brian and Stephen at the Reiss main office worked with us on the specs of the project, available discounts, comparable substitutions and problem-solving. They were responsive and straightforward. This was a month-long initiative due to permits, etc. but Reiss led every step of the way. And we were without AC for only half of one day. Finding a trusted partner for crucial home projects can be daunting; we recommend Reiss and the team that served us wholeheartedly.

NO ONE SHOWED UP, customer service has one woman working (Jenn) who did what she could but she can't contact techs or any of her managers. We have now been without A/C for 48 hours plus AFTER spending $2k and being told the A/C would be fixed yesterday. Not 24 hours, not excellent care, just a bunch of overpriced services performed by people who do not want to work and do not care about lying to customers. Go anywhere else in the valley. Would give 0 stars if I could.

They had already impressed me when they came out to evaluate my AC and confirmed that the issues I had been told about simply weren't there. That experience alone earned my trust, so when I decided it was time to replace my water heater, Local Roots was the company I called. Matthew C was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. He arrived on time, was professional and efficient, and took the time to explain what he was doing and answer my questions. He was also incredibly patient and even let me lend a hand a little, which I appreciated. He showed me a couple of things I didn't know, and when we needed to move some furniture to get the new water heater through the kitchen, he went above and beyond to help. I really want to take a moment to recognize Matthew for the outstanding service he provided. He represents exactly the kind of person you hope to get when you invite someone into your home to do important work. I also want to say this to anyone reading this review: don't be afraid to get a second opinion when something doesn't seem right. My experience with my previous company left me questioning what I was being told, and Local Roots proved to me that there are still honest, professional people who genuinely care about earning your business. Thank you, Matthew, and thank you, Local Roots. You've earned my trust and my business, and I will absolutely recommend you to others.

HERE IS WHAT WE FOUND OUT: Ownership History: The company was originally acquired by Lennox International in 2000, sold to American Capital in 2013, acquired by Canadian service provider Enercare in 2016, and later came under the ownership of Brookfield Infrastructure. We were very upset about that change. Service Experts just really cares about selling their "new invention" which sounds really hokey since we researched what they were talking about, rather than Service! We felt sold out when we ended up with SE coming to our house. Now Hayes started Local Roots company so we may look into that but did not appreciate them "selling out" to a crappy company And then we're stuck with service experts what a croc. Still thinking about how we were loyal customers, but kind of got the bad end of the stick after the change.

We opted to wait til the next morning and Rene showed up at 6:30AM, replaced our AC unit's motor (quicker than expected), hosed down our unit, and offered great advice for maintenance and what to expect moving forward. Last time (a couple years ago), Flores also showed up quickly and repaired our unit, was so helpful and did a great job accommodating our budget as best as he could. Both experts felt safe and professional. With unbearable summer heat causing so many AC issues around the Valley, it can be hard to get someone to fix AC units to the house quickly, and they haven't disappointed yet. If you're looking for someone to help with your unit, I suggest giving them a call first.

Very grateful for them and their quick response!! I will absolutely recommend anybody to utilize them.

Based on our experience, we are not comfortable spending any more of our hard-earned money with this company, particularly after what we experienced with the workmanship, communication, and follow-through. Our review is based solely on our personal experience, our firsthand observations, and the documentation we have retained. When you spend more than $25,000 with a company, you should be able to expect more than a good sales pitch. You should be able to expect quality workmanship, respect for your home, clear communication when something goes wrong, and accountability when problems arise.
