Came to Maui and heard great things about Maui pie. We drove by and it caught our eye so we decided to pull over and pop in. On yelp, it said it was closed but it was clearly open. We walked in and we were the only ones there. It seems as though a lot of people go in the morning because when we went, it was the early afternoon and a couple flavors were already sold out. Sometimes there are still slices left of a flavor, even if it says sold out on the wall! We got the banana cream, coconut cream, and haupia chocolate cream. My favorite by far was the banana cream. Strong banana flavor, but not artificial and really creamy. I had the banana cream pie while I was here and it was an absolutely amazing pie. It was light and not overly sweet like most pies are. It also had real bananas in it. It was pi day so we had to find a place that sells pie. This place popped up so we decided to check it out. We came roughly an hour before closing and they were sold out of almost all of the pie. We managed to grab a lilikoi pie and to our surprise, they were giving out either apple pie or blueberry pie for free, so we got a slice of the blueberry pie as well. Lilikoi pie - refreshing, cold and tart. Very flavorful. Blueberry pie - I like the crumble, but the blueberry flavor was subtle. If this have came with ice cream, it would be delicious. Overall, I like the flavor of the lilikoi but the texture of the blueberry pie. Came with a small group and had trouble deciding on flavors and whether to get individual slices or whole pies. The employee who was working was patient and answered our endless questions about the different flavors, so I applaud her! We ended up going with a small lilikoi, coconut cream, and mango strawberry. We would have gotten the chocolate haupia but they were already sold out. Personally, I loved the lilikoi pie the most...sooo refreshing and tart. Tried out a few new (to us) spots today. We have driven pst Maui Pie so often and never stopped, u til Friday. Cute lil spot on Kerri Rd. We actually parked in the Times Supermarket parking lot and walked to it. Lots of flavors to choose from. I went for a slice my fav tropical fruit Lilikoi. Hubby got chocolate peanut butter, both with whipped cream.... cause are you even a fat kid if u say no to whipped cream?!?!? As far as pie goes, neither of us are huge fans in general so not sure what our appeal was to try this place to be honest. Both slices were very flavorful. So, with all that said, why did I give it a 2 star? In 15 years of coming to the islands of Hawaii, this pie had the least amount of Lilikoi flavor I have ever had. Bland bland bland. The mango texture was strange (someone said it was more like freeze-dried mango that was rehydrated) and strawberries also appeared to be from frozen fruit. The crumble is very sweet. I saw the high ratings and expected really good pot pie, but as a chicken pot pie lover it completely blew me away that the best chicken pot pie of my life would be found on Maui. Decadent, savory, rich, with none of those annoying things like undercooked crunchy onions or celery ruining the texture, their chicken pot pie is full of savory goodness bite after bite. The crust is flaky and buttery and not too thick or thin- just the right amount to complement and hold the generous contents inside. My wife also had their lilikoi cream pie and it was an incredible 5-stars as well. Excellent mix of cream, fruit flavor, and a perfectly balanced amount of sweetness. My husband really wanted huapia, so we drove from Lahina here as this is what popped up on Yelp when we searched for it. They didn't actually have huapia squares but it is a nice little place to get a pie for two. Drove all over creation trying to find the place, as Google maps kept telling us we had arrived, but it was nowhere in sight. This business is facing the street and can't be accessed or seen from them parking lot. We had to park in the grocery store's parking lot in the next shopping center next door. Unfortunately it was dark and as I stepped down from the parking lot to get to the sidewalk, it was covertly muddy and my shoe broke when my foot got stuck in the mud. Unfortunately there is no public restroom so I was covered in mud when I got to the door of this place. I am a chocolate fanatic and so I was disappointed when the chocolate filling wasn't rich and dense, but more like a chocolate pudding flavor and consistency.
