If you're looking for a sweet treat, I highly recommend checking out this ice cream shop! They offer ice cream, cookies, edible cookie dough, dipped fruit, cakes, drinks, and so much more. One of the things I really loved--something that truly made me feel like a kid in a candy store--was their in-shop camera. You can choose between taking photos, videos, or boomerangs, and then text or email them to yourself. It added such a fun and unique twist to the experience--something I've never seen in a shop before. Definitely an extra treat if you ask me! Here's what we ordered and how we rated it: Mint Chocolate Chip & Coffee Ice Cream - 5/5 This combination was a pleasant surprise! Creamy, smooth, and perfectly balanced, the flavors blended together in a way I didn't know I needed until that very first bite. If you were have a sweet tooth...please be sure to stop by, as I believe you will not regret it! read more

Disappointed due to the confusing messaging. Shop online and on the store said it was open until 9:30 PM. We were so excited based off of the pictures. When we showed up the lights were half on. I went in since the door was unlocked and the guy in the shop said they were closed. When I asked him about the time he said "they were closed early tonight," which to me just meant he didn't want to work anymore. So we went and spent our money at a different ice cream shop. read more

Lady working was so kind!! So many options from ice cream to dole whip to chocolate covered bananas and tons of sweets. I loved my guava lilikoi ice cream read more

Just reopened today! I rarely eat sweets but this place is the spot in Maui! I'm dairy free so I'm a big fan of their house made sorbets. The Lilikoi sorbet is the best I've had in my life. Got the perfect texture and flavor. Tastes super natural and not overly sweet, not overly sour. It's got the perfect balance. Same with the Açaí dragonfruit sorbet and the coconut ginger. Sample them. They also have Dole Whip, ice cream sandwich cookies, cotton candy, Noms, and loads of other goodies to satisfy any sweet tooth craving! read more

Cute little ice cream shop! All made there and very unique flavors. My kids loved the edible cookie dough too. I like their hot fudge. Our son scraped his knee outside and they were so nice to give us band aids and supplies. read more

After reading other reviews we came here because we saw an extensive menu of dairy free/vegan selections that seemed to be available. Their yelp listing said "vegan and dairy free" available. Unfortunately this is not really the case. Out of the entire shop you can get a scoop of lilikoi or mango sorbet for $9.00. Rather spendy for frozen disappointment. It was ok sorbet, but i can get that anywhere. Despite their yelp listing this is apparently not a vegan friendly establishment. Cannot recommend. read more

Fantastic little ice cream shop, super creamy and unique flavors but something for everyone. We sampled a few. My husband said the fruity pebbles was one of the best ice creams he's ever had. I loved the mint chip - it's very minty with tons of chocolate chips. We will definitely seek this out on future visits. I also really appreciated how attentive the girls working were to my peanut allergy, recommending flavors that were less likely to have cross contamination, and that each flavor had its own designated scoop. Thanks for taking such good care of your customers, it's so appreciated! read more

This place is very interesting. The ice cream itself is very unique with flavors I've never heard, such as banana pretzel crunch. I got that and it was very good, very flavorful. The downside was the location wasn't the greatest. The store was located in some plaza which was fine, but after my family and I ordered and went outside, there was a bunch of people smoking right next to the store. I don't know if that was a one time thing or if that happens all the time but that definitely changed my experience. read more

Delicious ice cream flavors and very fun Photo Booth with lotsa options. Will definitely come again the next time we visit Maui.

I have been here before and the ice cream is pretty good hence the three stars but it would be five stars if the hours were accurate. If the hours say you are open till 9 you should be open and serving until 9. If you want your employees to leave at nine then update the hours and close at 8:30. read more

We came here after dinner as it is a short walk from the main downtown of Kihei. It's tucked back behind the Taco Bell and is open pretty late. There were a few parties sitting outside enjoying their treats when we walked up as there is no indoor seating. The interior is pretty small and they sell other things beside ice cream, including candy and drinks. They were good about sampling and our kids settled on their flavors quickly. It seemed to be ice cream not made in-house, but it still hit the spot and the service was quick and friendly. It was reasonably priced and we enjoyed outside at our table that was easily available. It was kind of dark outside, but besides that, this is a good place for late night treats. read more

THE UBE, THE KONA COFFEE, (and if you don't mind the slight stevia aftertaste), THE SUGAR-FREE DARK CHOCOLATE. Would I come back again? YES. Those 3 flavors stood out the most and were quite flavorful, creamy, and overall cured our ice cream craving. Ube: 9/10 - Good ube flavor - Very vibrant (it's naturally purple color) Kona: 10/10 - Decent coffee flavor - Had bits of coffee in it - No after flavor Dark Chocolate Coffee: 9/10 - Very slight stevia aftertaste (compared to other sugar free ice creams) - Very rich - 88% cocoa read more

Maui Sweet Shoppe - Glen and Jenny - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Kihei, Hawaii

The two ladies working on Sunday night were the sweetest gals. We were next in line (no one else was in there) and we turned around and wow... the line went out the door. The young gal who served the ice cream was so patient and kind. The cashier was sweet as well. Minus the couple that cut us in line lol. She handled it well and them there is line and continued to serve them and apologized to us. We were happy to wait. The ube ice cream was delicious. I got large and I barely ate half of it. The ube was smooth and not too sweet. Made just right. Ube is hard to get a good flavor out of it and they mastered the ube taste. I was so happy to try it and I was not disappointed at all. My friend had the banana split, lets just say it was bigger than her head. Thanks for the great tasting ice cream!!! read more

This is such a quaint little shop. When you come, you'll be greeted by the nicest folks! There were too many flavors and desserts and sweets to choose from. I easily have decision paralysis, so try to make your choice before you come... if not, the line can get pretty hefty behind you! Maui generally closes pretty early, but this sweet shop stayed open for a little bit longer than the rest - bonus points! I tried the Dole Whip, and it really reminds me of the same kind I had on the dole plantation! Smooth, subtle, and definitely sweet - hits the spot! Ambiance 8/10 Service 10/10 Food 9/10 Value 10/10 I'll definitely come back if I return to Maui. And next time I'll try to make my own milkshakes, which can be a combination of 3 different flavors! read more

Wow, the Maui Sweet Shoppe has such a variety of treats! I expected ice cream and an assortment of related items, but found that they are offering a surprising array of goodies. The store is small but there really is an incredible selection. My pics will show some of it. My choice for today was a hand packed pint of chocolate peanut butter cup ice cream. The chocolate ice cream is delicious and the vast quantity of reeses pieces gave it a nice crunch and that burst of peanut butter flavor. My list "must try" grows every time I look at the menu. There are several ice cream flavors, shave ice, sundaes, malts and Dole Refreshers that are calling out to my sweet tooth. See you there! read more

We stopped here after dinner to grab dessert and was not disappointed. The person who helped us was really nice. Once i saw that they had wafflesada, I immediately knew I wanted to try it. So we got the wafflesada sundae. It comes with 2 pieces of wafflesada, with our choices of ice cream (lilikoi, chocolate and haupia) whipped cream, and sundae sauce. The wafflesada was unexpected as it was crunchy but soft on the inside. It was pretty good. The ice cream is pretty solid as well, all of them had distinct flavors. The price was reasonable here too. They also have shaved ice and cotton candy and other sweet options if you don't like the ice cream :) A solid dessert place read more

Second time getting ice cream from here. First time was during our 2 week quarantine when we first arrived and was super impressed - the flavors were amazing (Rocky Road, strawberry and Lilikoi sorbet). They recently reopened and we decided to visit in person. Super friendly and LOTS of yummy options. We went with 3 pints (we call it our Fat kid special): Rocky Road, cookies & cream and the limited flavor:caramel apple cheesecake. Rocky road was so amazing last time we HAD to get it again. I tried a sample of the caramel apple cheesecake & wow! Such sweet goodness! I will have to edit my review once we try the Cookies and Cream but I'm just going to guess that is rich and full of flavor, just like all the others! Not going to lie, I just want to finish these pints so I can go back and get some of the other flavors I saw like the blue bubble gum - I hope it's like the kind I used to get as a kid and the cookie dough. Covid: masks on, cash register had plastic hanging to protect workers/patrons, new machine for contactless payments & this was the best part & the only place I have seen with it: single use wipes for patrons to wipe down the card machine before use!!! Sooo impressed with that!!! Thanks again and we will be back! read more

Pre-COVID, was planning to see a movie at Regency Kihei Cinemas, when I stumbled upon Maui Sweet Shoppe which is located in the same Kukui mall as the theater. Stepped inside and the sweet sugar smell flooded my senses. More than just a gelato shop, they have Belgian waffles, baked goods, frozen treats, smoothies, açaí bowls, etc. Good selection of gelato, but I opted for simply coconut, while my partner opted for salted caramel & coffee. Staff member was friendly. Once ice cream in hand, grabbed one of the seats inside. Huge portions, there was no way I was going to finish. Very rich, each bite was very fulfilling. Sweet tooth satisfied. read more

Maui Sweet Shoppe is a sweet little gem near the Regency Theater in Kihei. They make several flavors of gelato and sorbet every day.
