This is my stop for the best artisan bread and pastries. I got up early, to get there before they sold out of the goodies I've been thinking about. I really like that I can select from the old world German Artisan collection and the Hawaiian Artisan baked goods. I snagged the Isabelle, a loaf of bread made of spelt (dinkel wheat, high in protein, fiber, and antioxidants) and rolled in an assortment of seeds. The texture is soft and the crust is slightly chewy. Just right and the taste is very satisfying. I can't bring myself to putting a slice into the toaster, though, because I don't want to risk losing any of the seeds. I'll be fine with the broiler and some butter. I also went for the Hawaiian Bread. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. It has pineapple, toasted coconut and tiny soft raisins. The bread is moist from the pineapple juice and the loaves are small. I could finish one off in a setting but I resisted the urge. I also bought extras for sharing and had to pass them out quickly before temptation called. I'll return soon.
Best Hawaiian muffins ever! So good. Dong pass up on the lillikoi bun either! Service was quick and very kind. It's in a cute little plaza by snorkel bobs and that's a wrap. It's a must!
My wife and I were a big fan of this place during our stay in Maui! My wife loved the banana bread, it was delicious and moist! I love the ube mochi. It had strong ube flavors and the texture was perfect. Parking is a small lot but enough parking. I highly recommend when you're in Maui!
We love this bakery, and make sure to visit it several times during our visit to Maui. It's always a good idea to get there early before everything is gone. I especially love their macaroons and extra long coconut biscotti, but this year I found their Chocolate Pretzel Croissant outstanding!! The salty and sweet just made it perfect. Of course their breads and rolls are yummy too! Staff is always helpful and welcoming. We'll be back next year.
This shop has the best breads. Parking lot is small and shared with quite a few shops but people seem to come and go alot so be patient and you'll snag a spot. There is so much to choose from I picked the cinnamon roll and a lilikoi filled pastry. There are a few tables outside but decided to take them home. Both were SO good, I will definately buy these again. The cinnamon roll was so soft and tender and the pastry had so much filling. Be sure to go early for the best selection they sell out quickly of many items. There is usually a line of people waiting for them to open at 7.
Another visit to Maui and another beautiful morning on the beach with a breakfast treat from Maui Bread. They have many options to choose from. It's hard to walk away with only one or two items. They have some warm items like ham and cheese twist, pineapple and cheese twist. Oh no, I am making myself hungry, might need to go back.
Cute little shop with fresh pastries- definitely worth the stop. We ordered the Pina colada sweet bun, pretzel croissant, and Pineapple & ham twist. The bread is so soft when you bite in to it. The pina colada sweet bun is moist and has pineapple & coconut shavings- I would order this every time. The pretzel croissant perfectly flakey, soft, & salty. We love visiting Maui Bread company when we're in Kihei! There are plenty of breads and pastries to choose from. They also have a lovely display area with little jars of jellies, butters, and chutneys with different flavors - lilikoi (passion fruit), guava, mango, and coconut pineapple! We got the Lilikoi Sweet Bun, Pina Colada Sweet Bun, and the Paprika, Onion, Cheese Roll. While we enjoyed them all, the Pina Colada Sweet Bun was my personal favorite. The Lilikoi Sweet Bun was pretty tart and was FILLED with lilikoi jam.
they have such wonderful food in although you have to get there early because they sell well worth the early morning rise from your to your custard and meat You can find anything you want here and if you can't, you can grab unbaked dough and take it home and make it yourself. The employees are very courteous and very genuinely helpful so be sure to ask
Every visit I have in Maui I stopped by for their ginger Cookie. Every encounter I have is pleasant. Today I came in to take some for my workers to try their POG bread for our red eye flight back. The very special person Elfie helped me choose some options. I was glad to try some Macadamia Cookie, Ginger Cookie and Pog loaf bread. Thank you for your hospitality will visit sometime soon again when work takes me back
We came here a couple of times during our time here and thought overall the baked goods were pretty good. We had the macnut muffin, pretzel croissant (both sell out frequently we were told), the chocolate croissant, and the cheese, paprika and onion bread. The macnut muffin was the best of these pastries. Very fresh and good but also more like a muffin top since it's small. The pretzel croissant lived up to its name and tasted like both things -- was good but it had a bit too much salt. The cheese bread had too much onion in it and the seeds in it were a pleasant surprise (even though the ingredients did not list the seeds). The chocolate croissant was a huge disappointment. It was literally a croissant cut open and filled with chocolate chips -- the chocolate was not even melted. The staff here are friendly and it's nice that have ku'ia chocolate here -- we went on a chocolate tour on a prior visit and it was nice that they sold the chocolates there without having to go to that chocolate store. It's very good chocolate!
Really cool counter-service bakery with baked goodies. The coffee selection is limited with one hot and one cold option. I had the sweet roll guava in the middle and the guava juice. Both were not overly sweetened and were a huge portion in my opinion (sorry for no pic, next time). Seating is outside and the staff is supppppper friendly. You can smell the baking dough from the parking lot. There is ample free parking and other shops in the complex to visit. I would totally recommend!!!!

We stopped by on Sunday about an hour before closing and we were able to score some gluten free banana bread! It was definitely worth the money! Not goopy or sawdust. It was flavorful and filling! I went to this bakery three times during my trip and I only have good things to say about this place! They offer online deliveries so DEFINITELY purchasing their products for gifts and for my own consumption ;) Top three: Hawaiian Loaf or Hawaiian muffin Pina colada sweet bread Almond Croissant All their pastries and bread/loaves are all so good. It's such a great bakery to get fresh bread. Everyone in the store was so helpful, they took the time to explain the difference of the breads to me even when they were busy with the morning rush They also have coconut coffee, drip and POG juice. One thing I appreciate was how they had TSA approved carry on gifts like variety of local fruit jam/butter (lilikoi jelly and guava butter--get it, just GET IT), seasoning, etc. One thing to note is their hours!! This was our first stop in Kihei the next morning of our arrival in Maui. We were staying just a few blocks away and I'm on a GF diet so this was one of the bakeries that had ample GF options. Upon entering you can smell the freshly baked bread --yum! Hubby got several pastries -- ube filled bread was one of them but he downed them too fast before I could take a photo LOL! For GF people, they have various mochi bread options too (ube and passionfruit to name two flavors). I got their GF banana bread and coconut coffee. The banana bread was moist, dense, delicious and very filling. Really enjoyed it! Plus the coconut coffee tastes so Hawaii/tropical. Texture is a bit thicker and heavier than your typical cold lattes. The lady at the counter was very friendly too. They also have various tasting samples of their jams and spreads available. Also, their merchandise are just so cute! Seating is available outside and parking is available in the shopping complex. read more

Had to try some Maui Bread to bring to one of our beach days. I wish we had bigger stomachs or a longer trip so that we could've tried more. There were so many delicious looking goodies. And the store smelled delicious. We opted for the banana bread and the passionfruit orange guava. I've had a million banana breads in my lifetime, and I can't say I was blown away by this one. It was fine. But the POG was definitely unique. My husband and I enjoyed the POG more than the banana bread. Both breads were very moist and hearty and tasted delicious during our snorkeling breaks. read more

The place is a really cute, small bake shop. There are many creative pastries and gluten free options. I got the POG bread and K-Dog and wasn't so much a fan of the bread. The K-Dog was delicious though and I would order it again! My friend got the gluten free banana bread and I liked that too. I'm not gluten free so I def wouldn't order that over reg bread but is a nice option if you want it! The service is great and the ladies that work there are nice but definitely busy! read more

Great new experience this time adding a new eatery of an established local bakery. Came here for the lilikoi bun but was captured by all the other offerings. Service was good and they gave good recs of what to try but was lucky to talk to a regular to get the 411 on what to get. If you're a vegan. This is the bakery for you. Ian's are laid out nicely to see what would be good choice. Very contemporary design. Very inviting from the external view. Will be back to try other items. read more
Reminded me of the 85 degree bakery we.. gottnhe Hawaiin muffin which was a moist and loaded with coconut flakes and bits mac nuts. Also got a pog bread and liliko buns. They had other pastries at the counter such as brotch., pretzels and varuous breads should you want to make a sandwich as well read more

I really do not recommend this place... unless you have an appreciation for delicious, fresh and unique bakery concoctions. I am not a big fan of bakeries and usually plead with my wife to pick a couple of items and leave. However, since we are on vacation I kept my thoughts to myself. We must have purchased almost half of the items in the store, from breads to pastries, muffins, croissants and pretzels. Everything we tried was more scrumptious than the last. I wish I could say that we will return the next time we visit, however I do not recommend this place for the reasons stated above. read more

My new secret find if you love all kinds of bread. I went in for sourdough and they were all out. I decided on the multigrain bread instead. The bread was fresh and flavorful. Remember Saturdays they load up and have special German breads and buns of all kinds. I must try the brownies next for a special occasion. This delicious husband and wife bakery is located in Dolphin Plaza and easy to find. Staff are friendly and super knowledgeable about all the baking and special ingredients that they use. A must try place and hands down the best breads on Maui. I was delighted to meet Elfi the assistant that helped me. BTW-they also have gluten free breads. Happy Eating all! read more

After running along the Kamaoles at sunrise, I drove for a minute here at 6:50 to see what the hype is about. When I got there a couple folks were waiting in line. By the time they let me in at 7:00, there was a growing line of ten people. If you grew up enjoying wrapped Sheng Kee (Bay Area) or 85°C (Bay Area/So Cal) buns and baked goods, this is your spot. From cheese/hotdog buns to bread loafs to interesting local concoctions like the pina colada and lilikoi buns, there is essentially something for everyone here. I ordered the POG (passion, orange, guava) loaf, the Hawaiian (pineapple, coconut, macadamia, carrot, raisin) loaf, the sweet lilikoi bun, the k'dog (I assume this means Korean dog, as it is filled with mozzarella and hotdog), and the ube mochi bar. **pina colada and lilikoi buns** Nothing here to really write home about. The lilikoi bun, in my opinion, should have more filling in it. It stops about half of an inch into the bun. The pina colada bun is interesting--it almost tastes like biting into a pizza. That said, I didn't think that was a bad thing. Both buns are a little harder than I expected and after 10 seconds of microwaving, would probably be perfectly soft. **ube mochi bar, POG bread, Hawaiian bread** Religious experience here, yelpers. This is what got me to write this review. A lot of bakeries advertise mochi-style goods, and you wonder from the first through the last bite where the mochi was. Not here. With a crunchy texture on the top and bottom of the bar, the bar has a perfectly soft mid, mochi section. The POG bread tastes like what it says--POG. The Hawaiian bread is generously filled with carrot, raisins, and pineapple and has the perfect amount of mac garnish. The loafs tasted freshly baked, the slices so so soft yet still firm enough to hold without worry of falling apart. If you're in Wailea or Kihei, try it out for a light breakfast or quick snack, and hope they aren't sold out of what you're looking for by then! Breaaaaad! My favorite thing besides cheese, which obviously meant we HAD to stop here one morning during our few days in Kihei. We were a little later in the morning so they had options, but not as many as they would have earlier. I got a croissant with cheese and bacon inside and it was delicious. I mean, you can't really go wrong. My friend got a lemon bread in their packaged options and it was super good as well! Now I want to go back bright and early to try one of their freshly baked goodies! read more

Come early. They only allow 4 people in the bakery at a time currently due to COVID-19. They have a good size offerings of homemade fruity butters, jellies, mochi cakes, cookies, pastries and bread. Picked up a few things like the ube mochi cake, peanut butter chocolate chip mochi cake, Lilikoi bun, pina colada bun, and POG (passion fruit, orange and guava) bread. It is so worth coming here just to get the POG bread. You can really taste all 3 flavors and the bread is so moist. Try it warm. read more

If you love fresh baked cookies and bread, this place is a must have! For all of my So. Cal Asian Yelper's , you'll know what I'm saying when I equate this to the 89 Degrees Bakery in OC. There's so many unique selections of fresh baked bread that it's almost sensory overload (which is a great thing IMO). The bakery is located in a strip mall facing Kam beach, very easy to get to and plenty of parking. They limit the number of people who can be inside at a time and masks are required. We got; K'Dog for the kids - I think it was technically a Portuguese sausage wrapped in soft bread, it was a nice quick lunch snack for the kids on our hike. Gluten free peanut utter chocolate chip mochi bread - OMG this was delish! I wish we had gotten more because our group was fighting for the last bite. Coconut Coffee - this was just ok for me, I wasn't a fan of the slight spicy flavor. I would definitely return here to try more stuff the next time we're in Kihie. read more

Why have we not gone here sooner?!?! I love carbs, alllllll carbs, and there are so many delicious carbs in here. Breads, cakes, scones, cookies, manapuas, brownies, mini pies, muffins, cinnamon rolls, pretty much whatever carb you are craving us in this shop. Savory or sweet, they got you covered. They offer gluten free options as well! Maui bread is located at Dolphin Plaza and opens early, 7 am and they are pretty busy then, especially from all the people who take their morning walk in Kihei. Besides all their wonderful carbohydrate goodness, they also offer a few beverages, including an iced coffee which my husband loved. I was like a kid in a candy store on our first visit here a couple weekends ago. We got here early, before 730 am and decided to get some breakfast here, which turned out to be some Manapuas which were great as breakfast food! We got the green chili chicken, beef brisket, bacon & cheese, and Portuguese sausage buns. Besides those, we also got a mango cream bun, a brownie, an almond cookie (made with almond flour!), a peanut butter cookie with bacon, a cinnamon roll, a ginger snap, ube mochi, almond scones, coconut bread, and a Mac nut pie. The almond cookie was my favorite. The almond flavor was on point and I had been craving it since I finished the last crumb so we had to make another trip here yesterday. We came here late yesterday evening, a little after 6 pm and I was scared they wouldn't have any almonds cookies left. But they DID!! I bought a ton and since my son loved his brownie the last time, had to get that too. They had a few items left so no worries if you make it here late. Service here is great. The owner and her staff are very nice and have a samples for you to try and can answer any questions you have about any of their items. If you're out in Kihei, definitely stop by Maui bread for any of your craving needs. They also own the Maui teriyaki/Maui fish n chips place a few doors down! read more
