    Tacos

Cute Mexican restaurant near Union Square/Lower Nob Hill with a pretty good happy hour! They fill up so make a reservation if you can. My friend and I both enjoyed tacos--they did not scrimp on meat and had unique flavors, spices, and one came with avocado! Service was attentive and fast--we were in a rush and they were great!

I must say I'm being disappointed. These nachos were $20. This is one of my favorite restaurants and this Togo order does not match the quality or quantity of what you get when you dine in. The happy hour nachos you get more food than this for half the price. Do better

Flan - we ordered another to-go!

We are visiting from southern California and wanted some good Mexican food. This restaurant far surpassed our expectations and I am only disappointed that we do not have time to come here and eat again. I rarely write reviews so this was an exceptional circumstance, the service was excellent - shoutout to Eduardo, he was absolutely WONDERFUL 10/10 service. I had the BEST margarita AND best tacos I've ever had which is saying a lot considering I live in Southern California where we are known for Mexican food. We ordered a flan for dessert and enjoyed it so much we ordered another one to go. The art piece of the female Matador hanging above the fireplace is also a huge win. (Art is my profession).

Excellent food, quick service and good drinks. If you want to indulge with Mexican flavors, this is it. A convenient spot, with casual ambiance is calling you if you haven't been there already.

They had the cutest set up for the Super Bowl! Joined them for a last minute watch party and got to experience groups of people without the crowd, it still felt intimate like a house watch party. The main entrance had a large screen and the other room had another TV. I didn't try the super bowl menu--only their regular one which was a cute addition anyways. We ordered the pozole rojo, camarón de agua chiles, and chips and salsa + 2 tequila wells shots. Everything was decently priced and we only spent about $50 including tip, split between 2 people is such a good deal! We were hella full and our faves were the salsa and the ceviche! I would definitely come back to try more. The staff were nice and accommodating.

Came here on a Saturday evening with a friend. It was my friend's first time trying Mexican food so I had to show what's up. We ordered the quesabirria, chips & salsa, and steak fajitas. All were exceptionally well. We ordered drinks too. At one point, we needed extra tortillas & ordered, but our server forgot. This place is a really cute, intimate hang out spot. Would definitely recommend

Had dinner here after walking into a few other neighborhood spots that had no availability. A nice casual taqueria on the pricy side due to its location. Service is friendly. We thought the food was fine, okay on a bar food scale. My party ordered shrimp aguachile and tacos- al pastor, bistek, and quesabirria. The quesabirria was the best of the bunch. The churros were fresh and hot, with a side of chocolate and caramel sauce.

The food was a good, it wasn't extra special but it had 2/4 great tasting plates. The nachos were a delightful surprise, fresh & light chips with good flavors.Loved the mushroom sopes they had wonderful texture & flavor! The tacos were not the best but good enough. The filling in them was good but tortillas themselves were bad they crumbled and did not taste home made or fresh but thats really my only complaint. I Don't think the cucumber shrimp rolls were good they felt soggy n not crisp or acidic enough. Kinda soggy or something. Was disappointed on the seating in the back honestly thought it would be darker / more secret with more of a speak easy ambiance.I liked the vibe in the front better. More lively with better music. It was kinda dead in the back and they had TVs back there which didn't fir the scene, the decor was ok but they did it committ enough. Service was ok a bit rushed.

We came here as a small group and overall thought our food was fine overall. My colleague ordered a quesabirria taco but had to ask for a regular taco because she said there was just too much cheese in her initial taco. My Mexican pizza was just okay but it had a lot of random sauces and toppings on it that it wasn't super appetizing. My other colleague liked her chile relleno, but it was a bit odd that it had chicken in it as well. We ordered chips and salsa but the chips were pretty stale and difficult to finish. The mocktails and happy hour menu were pretty nice though. Overall, the food was just okay and it was pretty reasonable as well. But what you order could be hit or miss. Our servers were very nice but when they get busy it can be difficult to get their attention.

    Happy hour!!!!!

When I went to school in the area I used to pass this place all the time! Now my husband and I finally made it in and HAPPY HOUR is every day the same time. Great specials and staff is super friendly. We want to come back for dinner the menu looked good!

Enjoyed my time here with friends. Staff were friendly and ambiance is modern. Friends tried the following and enjoyed Mango margarita Flautas Quesabirria Tacos Shrimp ceviche I got the pozole rojo since I wasn't feeling that great and got a giant portion of hearty soup fully loaded that hit the spot. Would come back to try other things plus their $5 margarita hh looks promising :)

Fun spot for tasty margaritas and modern tacos. Service was friendly, food and drinks were tasty, prices a bit higher than your local taqueria that would give you sides but you're there for the vibes and clean look and feel of the place. My friend and I split the margarita tree which comes with 4 different flavors of margaritas. We each had our personal favorites from the four. For tacos, I got the fried shrimp taco (borracho uno) and fried fish taco (borracho dos). They were both good but I liked the fish one a little more. My friend and I also split the quesabirria tacos which were quite tender and flavorful when dipped in the jus. I had a bite of my friend's taco and I honestly don't remember much about it other than it was meat. I'd come back to try more of their drinks and some other menu items if I'm in the area but wouldn't make it a destination.

I stopped by Matadors happy hour today! It continues to be my absolute favorite. The service is exceptional, always going above and beyond. The food is out of this world. The deals are unparalleled. $7 Aperol spritz? Truly the best chips and salsa for $2??? Obsessed.

I was craving a refreshing craft cocktail and got one with the Green Emmanuelle. I liked the cardamom in the Beauty Mark as well that my partner ordered. We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

I think in many ways, Blind Pig just fell a little flat. I would like to say that the service here was amazing. A bartender who sat with you to talk about the menu, the process, and your experience very passionately and intently.  However, I think that the bar program is a little unrefined. Every drink had 10,000 ingredients, and most of them did not work together. If the drink did work together, you just tasted nothing because everything blended together and you couldn't taste any special or fun ingredients.  Unfortunately, I don't think this spot is worth looking for.

Seeing that it was named one of the top 50 best bars in North American, we had to check it out! We came in a Thursday night in mid-April about 9:45 PM. They have security outside thar checks IDs & also manages the queue in case the bar gets too crowded. We had no issues getting in, but there were zero indoor seats available - both the bar & table seating. Thankfully, they have a really cozy & well-lit patio area. The waitress let us know that even the outdoor patio has table-side service, so we made ourselves comfortable on the outdoor bench & within seconds she had brought us waters & cocktail menus. Weather outside was really nice, so I'm glad we actually sat outside. Each cocktail is $20, which definitely is a little steep, but I think the creativity, quality, & prestige of being named a top 50 bar supports the price. Each part of the menu is organized by liquor ie whiskey, vodka, brandy, gin, etc. We tried 4 drinks total. I only took menu photos of the pages we ordered from but they have a lot more selections. We ordered the Kung Fu Pandan, Silky Street, Rice Rice Baby, & Tropical Gangsta. We had some favorites over others, but all were very well crafted! The drinks came out pretty quickly considering how busy it was. The only hiccup was our final drink took quite a while. Turns out the ticket machine malfunctioned & deleted orders put in & caused a back-up. The waitress was so apologetic & ended up comp-ing 2 drinks, which she definitely didn't have to but it speaks volumes to the high standards they hold themselves to & their customer service. Overall, highly highly recommend checking this place out for a fun night out or post-dinner treat! Glad we made the decision to stop in!
