I had a few companies come out to my house to give me a quote on tree trimming for three strawberry trees, palm trees and a few other trees in my yard. Esteban came and gave me a quote with a super fast turn around. I really appreciated that it was so detailed. Some of the other companies just gave me a price with no real description of work that was agreed to be completed. The work was scheduled for today and the crew and Cesar were ready to go. Cesar walked through the back yard with me to double check the scope of the work. He then explained to his crew what we had talked about and then man... that crew busy! People in the trees, people on the ground carrying away leaves, they worked like a well oiled machine. About three hours later the crew was 95% done and asked me to check it out. I felt like a little more needed to be taken off the trees that were still a bit over my neighbor's fence. The immediately took off more and had me check again. All was great! Had a wonderful experience with Cesar and his team for tree trimming and care of The short version - they were professional, efficient and delivered quickly; not the cheapest -but worth it for a expedient and well-done job. I took off the 1 star because they didn't do exactly what they said (see below) and there was some recoverable damage to the tree that they trimmed. They came by to evaluate and provide a quote within 24 hours. Cesar and Esteban were polite and knowledgeable. They are licensed and specialize in tree care. After reviewing several quotes, I selected Master Tree Services because of my perception of their competence and their professionalism. They were not the cheapest - maybe middle of the pack for price. They provided me with an electronic quote. After signing, they were able to book service for the next day. The next day, a team arrived and completed the job - closely but not exactly what was specified, which is why I have deducted 1 star. Specifically, we agreed that they would dig out all of the soil around our citrus/fruit trees and mix clay (which is all around there) with fresh soil. And, Cesar said he would be present and check with me regarding the trimming as the job completed. Neither of these happened - they did replace soil around each tree, but not between. And, Cesar was not present and there was no communication regarding the trimming as it completed. That said, I do like how they left the tree (see photos). However, there was damage to the trunk where they ascended during trimming (recoverable). I would use their service again but only after discussing with them regarding what was promised and, subsequently, delivered. read more

Received a very rapid response to my initial query, with a solid, easy-to-understand estimate given the next day ... followed a few days later with the full crew skinning and cleaning up around some two dozen palm trees. The overall price was very reasonable considering the amount of work to be done; in fact, on a per-tree basis it was well below the prior two tree services' charge (for identical per-tree work). I called about 10 different contractors to bid on removing one large pine tree and one medium one. The last few I found through the Yelp quoting feature, and I was glad I did! Master came in with the lowest bid by far, and he was one of the only ones to follow up on his bid. Normally, I throw out the low bid, but I was immediately impressed with Caesar, the owner. He's a second-generation arborist, very knowledgeable, personable and articulate. He explained to me the importance of checking any contractor's license with the state and that he carries four separate bonds and insurance policies. The also do palm trimming and everything else, I expect. Took me a little while to award the job, but when I did, they were able to schedule me for just two days later. Communication was good. They wanted to squeeze in a small job before mine, which resulted in a late start. This turned out to be OK, but checking in advance was key. The thing with trees is to never delay.
