They are always very busy but they do EXCELLENT work! I have had over 50 items altered in the past 10 years and I have NEVER had a problem with their work, not one. I am a man, mostly have had a simple hem on pants, but I have also have had some very complicated alterations done to shirts, all expertly done. They somehow managed to make my pants look worse than when I brought them in. I had one tiny out of place thread that was fraying and starting to form a hole. From my guess it needed maybe one or two small lines of thread to repair if that. They proceeded to put 5 jagged lines of mismatched color stitching through the pants. This was a horrible job and then they refused to refund me. Terrible price for a terrible job. read more

Every time I go there for the same exact service, they charge me a different price. How does the price change every 2 weeks for the same exact thing? Sometimes 5$ more, sometimes 10$ more. Then they try to meet in middle. Very interesting business tactic. Why not just charge me the same price for the same service each time? Then if i remind them of the price from before, i feel like they take it out on my clothes and don't do it that great of a job as opposed to when i just go with the price increase that they say, then the quality is much better. read more

Master Tailor was suggested to me through a facebook group. I took a pair of polyester pants that were too long for me in on a Friday. The process was very simple. I tried on my pants, and the lady marked them and told me they would be done the next day! Wow! As instructed, I returned on Saturday and my pants were done. We have taken everything to Master Tailors for over 10 years and had good service at a fair price. We took my daughter's wedding dress there and there was an upset client that was charged over $300 for alterations. We asked how much my daughter's dress was and she said $180. When she put it on it was still too big in the bust and she charged another $50! There is no lace, no beading.. nothing! My advice is ask up front on cost. read more

My daughter took her Sheri Hill prom dress to get altered for prom. She tried the dress on for them before she left with the dress for them to make sure all was good and was charged $100. She wore the dress and we noticed during pictures before the night was even started that all the sequence was coming off the bottom. We looked closer and it wasn't even hemmed at the bottom. I took the dress back and the owner was very rude and argued that she hemmed the dress and my daughter must have cut the bottom which is ridiculous! After being extremely disrespectful, she said she would him the dress but not replaced and sequence. The dress was over $500! Never go here! read more

They have never delivered the work on time. One must wait only to find out they have not even started the job until one arrives. Worst customer skills I have experience in Kingwood. I have had about 10 items altered by Master Tailor. They have three stalls so you can change in privacy and then they can circle you and manipulate the cloth of whatever needs to be altered. I have always found them to be quick, professional, and very detail-oriented. None of their tailoring has ever come undone, and they are definitely my go-to tailor in the area. This place ruined my Allen Edmonds shoes. I had some blue Allen Edmonds shoes that needed resoling. Dropped them off. Apparently the owners outsource this to some guy. When we picked up the shoes they were black. Their mystery shoe guy polished them with black shoe polish! We confronted the owners who reviewed the shoes from online pictures, understood they were blue, and promised to look into it (we left the shoes with them). A few days later, they said I was a liar and the shoes were never blue to begin with...but it was obvious that the shoe guy had tried to strip off the black polish he'd applied. I demanded to speak to the shoe guy and they...reluctantly...gave me phone number and the name "Senyo." They claimed not to know his last name. Bad experience. Dropped off dress pants with small hole bellow zipper area and was told to pickup in two days. I show up today and lady rings me up and I look over the pants to make sure it's fixed and nothing was done! She then looks at it and takes it back and asks me to wait a bit. She comes out 10 min later with some very poor stitching done on it that any amateur could do. So much for taking it to a professional to do. I walked out furiously and pretty sure I will never wear those pants again. Terrible service and even worse work. Will never go there again read more

From drop off of a brand new three piece men's business suit to next day pick they were perfect in every way!

I'm on the short side so I have to get pretty much every pair of jeans/pants I buy hemmed. I usually buy Miss Me jeans and they always do an excellent job of hemming them and keeping the original hem so that you can't even tell they've been altered. I've brought in probably over 30 pairs of jeans over the years and have never had a problem. I've also brought in a few dressed to be altered. One of them was a cocktail dress that another tailor in the area wanted $70+ to do and here they did it for half that and it came out perfect. I've brought in two bridesmaid dressed that needed to be shorter and one that had to be taken in on the sides and in the shoulders. All have come out exactly the way I want. Anytime there is something not quite the way you want it they're more than happy to fix it for you and have it ready quickly. Most of the time when I come in my pieces are ready to be picked up within 2-3 days with no problem. They can even do it faster than that if you need it but since I'm usually not in too big of a hurry I let them get to it in a non-rushed time frame. read more

I read the other positive reviews on other sites, but unfortunately for me, I did not have the same experience. Granted, the service was very friendly, the work that was done for me was shoddy. I had some suit pants from a respected men's designer that only needed to be hemmed (no cuff). I thought to myself, I only need it hemmed; I probably don't need to spend the extra $ on an expensive men's tailor; what could go wrong. Well, I was wrong to assume that. I spent about $8 per pair and they all came back with the hemline bunched. I couldn't believe it. There was no way I could wear these like this. The hemlines should be invisible. They weren't. I thought of taking them back to them, but thought that if they were happy sending these out to customers like that in the first place, then there was no sense in bringing them back, as they didn't know how to do it right the first time; I shouldn't have to explain what's good workmanship. So I brought the pants over to Manny at Just Alterations in Atascocita. Without me saying anything, one of Manny's employee's, Oscar, took one look at the hemlines, and knew exactly what was wrong. He pointed out that the pants had a taper and that most likely the previous tailor must not have undone the inseam to accommodate the difference in fabric length (circumference-wise) when hemmed (and hence, the bunching). Manny fixed the pants; they looked great, the hems were invisible, and his prices were VERY reasonable. Suffice it to say, I will be taking all of my future tailoring needs to Manny at Just Alterations. read more

I just wanted to spread the word how horrible this place is for anyone that needs to know. In November, I dropped off more than 50 crown royal bags for them to make a blanket out of as a gift. I talked to them, was told they would call me when it was done. I waited a month and did not receive any phone calls about it so right before Christmas, I called to check on it and they told me "We will call you when it is finished" .. I waited another month and called "Yes, it will be ready today, we will call you" .. I did not receive a phone call so I called AGAIN.. "Oh I was wrong, we cannot do your blanket." When I asked them why, they said they TOLD me they could not do it because they needed more fabric. I told them they never told me that, they never called me ONCE during a TWO MONTH PERIOD to talk to me about it. I went in to get my bags back, and asked again why I wasn't notified, she said she told me that they could not do it in November when I gave them the bags. Maybe I'm an idiot, but I don't think I would leave my bags there KNOWING they weren't going to be done. She basically shooed me out of the store with a "It's okay, you can have them back" because she obviously did not want customers to see me being upset. So not only did they hold on to them for two months and did nothing, but then lied and turned it around on me. They obviously had no clue who I was when I would call to check on it, and never tried to make contact with me about anything. I am so upset that this was supposed to be a Christmas gift, then turned into a birthday gift, and now I am left with a bunch of bags after two months. Horrible customer service, horrible communication, HORRIBLE! read more

I went with a friend to pick up her wedding dress that needed to be taken in just a little. My friend had already gone in a few times allowing them more chances to fix what they did. They cut the dress in such a way the top no longer covers her chest. We went today to get the dress they had for few days and was asked to come back in an hour since they weren't done. We returned in an hour and the only thing done was two strips of fabric pinned on sides. A job that I or anyone could have done in 5 minutes. The owner says how they can fix which would not be a fix at all it would look like a weird seam on side of bust at best. Then owner tries to blame my friend saying the only way to alter dress creates these issues (bulging wrinkly seams through dress) information that if given up front my friend would have returned the dress before getting cut or left a little big which was a much more flattering look. Owner felt no responsibility for ruining the dress at all I warn anyone stay away from this place Most Taylor's could at least fix a problem but this place does not have the skill set to alter or repair anything my friend now has a ruined dress and now needs to find a new dress all on her own. Hard to believe situation is so bad. read more

I'm not sure what type of experience Tina gave some of you to rate her 5 stars but my 1 experience here was awful. I brought her two shirts. Exactly the same just different colors. I asked her to make the shirt smaller to fit my body because it was too big and gave me an unflattering body shape. The first time Tina pinned the shirt smaller around my body. She did not use a body measuring tape or take any measurements at all. I was expecting to have the shirts customized to me but that's not what I got at all. Tina seems very careless and arrogant. It's like the people who gave her 5 stars and compliment her on her work have extremely low standards. For the price of $54 to alter 2 t shirts the price was extremely high. Not to mention when I tried on the shirts they looked so awful on me! Also the sleeves were completely ruined. They were sticking up on the sides at a slanted angle and Tina dared to tell me "that's how the shirt was made" .... no shit that's why I brought it to you to alter. ‍ Seriously people, if you have high standards and want your clothes altered with professional quality. Do not come here. I told her I was highly dissatisfied and that the price she was trying to charge me for the poor workmanship was ridiculous. Her response was "we worked very hard on it." I had a bad feeling when she didn't even take my measurements and knew the way she just put pins around my body that I got stabbed with as I was taking off my shirt was a red flag, but my boyfriend who had been here before convinced me that they did good on fixing a zipper he had. I thought this place was professional altering but I guess not. I honestly and truly believe if I knew how to use a sewing machine I could have followed a YouTube tutorial and had a much better outcome. And you better believe I told Tina I wasn't paying $54 for those ruined shirts. She told me "don't ever come back here" She's a joke and I can't wait for her to go out of business. She kept my shirts. And that's fine with me. Why would I want them back after you ruined them? The most she would get for those shirts is maybe $10 each that I wasted $80 on. Oh well! read more

They ALWAYS do a great job on my clothes. I've taken everything from jeans to my suits. My sister in-law had her dresses for her wedding done here as well. I'm always happy with it, they get the job done quickly (but the quality is still amazing) and the prices are very fair. They've become my go to tailor. I would also like to point out that I live in Kingwood, and know there are some very up tight people here that are never satisfied with anything you do for them in hopes to get something free. they do good clean work. the lady is pretty nice and stops you from doing something ridiculously stupid. i got 5 shirts taken in for the sleeves and 2 of them for the hem. they lost the detail work on the hem but i didn't mind and i didn't tell them to keep it, so it's not really their fault. i got 2 jackets altered here too. sleeves. they did good work again, i can't tell that it was altered (except that it now fits properly). these alterations i got done were obviously very simple and easy for any tailor to do. i don't know how good they are with suit jackets, major alterations, and jean alterations. but there is always a lot of women going there to get stuff altered and i have to wait for 10 minutes. so it can't be bad! read more

Well two times went into this place to get our United Airlines uniforms altered and two times two years apart they failed completely to get the work done on time, or even done at all. with work on Tuesday and no uniforms sitting in there for over a week my daughter just asked for them back and we'll have to have them altered in Austin immediately. 2 times this is happened and they asked if they could keep it for the rest of the day and have it done maybe by the end of the day but she wasn't able to wait. Two times in two years how did they get it wrong again? seriously, never ever going back I would never ever recommend this place. Pretty, disrespectful respectful ,and incompetent. read more
