This was my first visit and I left impressed. Even though they were busy I got helped right away. I tried my pants on in the dressing room and she measured and asked if the length was good. I asked if they could doit that same day and she said they closed in 15 minutes. I was so bummed since I needed them mid week. She was so nice and said she could do it in ten minutes. The service was quick , efficient, and affordable. I'll definitely return for other alterations. It's located in a strip mall so parking isn't an issue. read more

Here I am, new to Atascocita with a slew of places to explore, especially since I no longer feel the need to drive all the way in town for a tailor or a shoe shiner. My latest review on this side of town goes to Tailors by Jenny. There's a certain tailor out here calling themselves "the best in Houston for 50 years." But this same tailor--or his wife, perhaps--managed to completely ruin two pairs of pants that I really needed, causing me to mask the defects as best as possible. Jenny and her team managed to save both pairs. Tailors by Jenny is literally Jenny (long hair) and a small team of tailors. Located next to Hype Nutrition on West Lake Houston in Summerwood, you see a big wall of fame as soon as you walk in, showcasing their previous work--everything from suits, to ball gowns, to dance uniforms. They also host a small seating area and a few fitting rooms. While trying on my pants both times (more on that in a second), people were singing their praises. One guy in particular became a fan after they saved one his daughter's outfits from a bad tailor, and two other ladies ran into each other once again, meaning that they've both been customers for a while. I went to Jenny to widen the leg on a pair of chalk stripe pants, as well as to take in the waist and re-hem a leg that came undone on a plaid pair. Total: $50 for three jobs. Happy with the price, I was blown away by their work, and SO thankful that I could actually get my foot through the first pair without force. The second pair was sublime...until I got home and noticed a wedgie-like crease on back. Tailors by Jenny has a policy that they'll amend their work for free within two weeks. The crease wasn't their fault, as it was the consequence of the design of the pants. The first repair ran from Friday, April 1 to Tuesday, April 5, where I returned Wednesday the 6th to pick them up the final time on Friday the 8th in time for a JSX flight. The crease was gone, and my pants fit exactly how I needed them to MONTHS ago. I won't name the old tailor in this post, but you can look through my reviews... Tailors by Jenny has actually saved a vital part of my wardrobe, considering I just took a job in Washington, DC that requires business casual. She and her team deserve all the continued accolades, and they seem to be humble spirits. Definitely go check them out. read more

I want to be clear I have done business with Jenny multiple times and all times prior she did a great job. However on this last visit she made two mistakes that were extremely costly to me as it was a time sensitive job. She first quoted me the wrong price and let me know (late) the next day that it was going to be far much more expensive. Secondly she ASSUMED I didn't want a certain pair of pants done( took in 3 pants 1 coat), which unfortunately for me where the only pants I really needed done. To make it all worst she only offered 10% off for all her mistakes and not only till after I left the store did she consider doing the cheapest item for free. All in all I see that she valued a few hundred dollars more than my long term business, which doesn't cut it for me. If the roles were reversed I would have ate the cost to keep a customer. I will never again do business with this Tailor. read more

I came here after reading good reviews, but in all honesty, I would not return. I had bought a suit jacket for my wedding that needed a difficult alteration, they got the jacket back to me quick and with top of my budget price, but after seeing and wearing the jacket, I saw that it was a disaster. I brought it back and was given a refund and they even offered to fix it for free, but I couldn't take it possibly being ruined anymore. I ended up having to take it somewhere else for almost double the price to fit correctly after being botched. Not being able to afford to fix the correction, I had to buy a new one and it devastated me because this wedding suit jacket was THE ONE. I can't speak for their alterations on other items, but suit jackets are not the one. read more

Worst tailor I've ever used. They tailored a maid-of-honor dress for me. First - they wanted to do things that I didn't want - like adding lace over my shoulders on a strapless dress. I kept having to say "No, that's not what I want." They were very pricy and charged me for two things that they didn't even do. When I was paying for the work and said "wait - you didn't do this but you're charging me for it" - all of a sudden the girl couldn't speak very much English - and said I would have to pay for it and then discuss with the manager - who is never there. Now I have to take the dress to a different tailor to do the work they didn't. I will never use them again and will not EVER recommend them to anyone. read more

I have gotten things tailored in the past by other alteration places, but I must admit Tailors by Jenny was by far the best. I recently got a Cinderella bridal gown and 3 bridesmaids dresses altered and Jenny did a fabulous job. She was very nice and took her time with my dresses to make sure they were perfect. Jenny is an absolute miracle worker and super patient. She did an awesome job on my bridesmaid dress for my sister's wedding. I bought a dress that was too small and Jenny worked her magic and made it fit perfect by using some extra fabric from the back of the dress.I also took her several shorts that another seamstress messed up because they needed to be taken in, but she fixed them perfectly. We have gone to Jenny's since 2008. First we took my husbands shoes to her to polish. That led to various tailoring and shoe repairs over the years. She is a miracle worker. When she repairs something I have to ask her where the repair is because it looks as if there was never a problem to began with. She has repaired dress pants, dress shirts, countless times over the years; from just replacing a button to a tear right down the front of my husband dress shirt and recently even our dogs coat. She has saved our clothes so many times. I know anytime I take something to her she will take care of it. read more
