Your crew did not ask for any instructions even when I was proactively asking them to position things. I am not sure how you can justify this behavior and charge exorbitant mandatory tips As an example, they threw rugs around randomly. When I asked them to adjust positioning of my seating and carpet they were pulling carpet with furniture without moving sofa out of carpet! We used Master lee mover couple of times. This time we had very bad experience . We hired Master lee mover but we got New Joy Moving Company , not sure if both are sister company. We were forced to take 3 people as we had a piano to move. They said they will send us professional piano mover. So first for Piano , the mover were spending more than 30 min to understand how to detach leg from Piano . They were not a professional piano mover. Our baby grand Piano luckily survived as couple out time it was almost slipped. So unprofessional Piano handling . Not recommended for Piano move. Second, for furniture move (Picture attached) . Slow service . Lot of damage and scratch on our furniture after move. They didn't wrapped furniture completely to protect from scratch. I paid then around $1950+ and got unprofessional move service. I was a bit hesitant to hire Movers since I've always had such a huge family / group of friends to help me previously. But it's almost 2023, let's stop stressing our family and friends with such a physically demanding task and get some help. My younger sister recommended this company and I was not disappointed at all. The movers and Rep responding to my inquiry were very kind -- Responded in a timely manner and helped set me up very quickly. I do prefer to get these things done in the morning so I can unpack by the afternoon / evening all peaceful to some light music playing. There were several other companies that responded as well but this company had the best rates with the least hidden fees. What did Gaga say again? These movers were talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular... -- I did not have a lot of things to move at all but they showed up early, acknowledged the time and took my signature, and got to moving. They brought their own bubble wrap for the tv and furniture with sharp corners, large boxes to pack smaller things, and tape to hold everything together. They started at 8:07AM, we were on the road by 8:45AM, and all unpacked on the top floor of my new building by 9:50AM. There was a communication barrier but they were effective in how they asked and wanted to get things done. They set up my couch and tv stand after taking it apart and carried in everything to my new place as careful as they could, do dents, dings, or scratches. Overall, great company and I have recommended to my family and friends. Will use them again in the future for sure. read more

Absolutely terrifying experience with this Yelp-listed merchant. Do not make the mistake of hiring them. While their prices may seem slightly lower than other moving companies, their incompetence and lack of strength for the job make them a terrible choice, especially if you have furniture that needs assembling and disassembling. I've moved three times in the last four years with similar amounts of belongings, and every other moving company has completed the job within two hours. However, this company took over four hours, deliberately prolonging the process to increase their pay since they charge by the hours. What's worse, they enforce mandatory tips regardless of satisfaction with their work. During the move, I noticed them mishandling my couch by carrying it incorrectly, causing one of the legs to wiggle. When they dropped off the couch in my apartment, I immediately brought to the owner's attention that one of the legs was wiggling. His response was, "I am not able to fix it, but it's going to be ok." Two days later, the wiggling leg broke while my friend was sitting on the couch, leaving us both startled. I attempted to resolve the issue through Yelp messages were repeatedly postponed by the company. When I mentioned involving Yelp to investigate, the owner called to yelling at me over the phone instead of response me from Yelp message, even admitting to recording the conversation without my consent. Their final words to me were "Go ahead to file court claim if you want". The business owner appears quite good at concocting elaborate full of bullshit false story &allegation, I am not going to argue with them in the Yelp review, they better have evidence for every false allegation they made here to proof in court. The person we were in communication with over the phone was a female named fanny. She did not mention the hidden fees, yes hidden fees! I have screen shots of her stating a TOTAL COST WAS a certain dollar amount but once the job was done she adds on $130! I did argue with her over the phone and explained to her the charges didn't make sense based on her texts and her confirmation of the TOTAL COST. She tried to say it's a driving home fee that's not Incuded in the total cost... how does that make any sense when I asked you over text for the total price yet you never added this so called "drivingback" fee? Its very unfair and unprofessional for a company to say no hidden fees and then they hit you with exactly that! as a customer I feel ripped off and taken advantage of. As a business owner I'm embarrassed for this company and ashamed of this company! The workers were friendly and came on time so 2 stars for those qualities. However, the language barrier makes it very difficult to communicate directions. Not to mention they flip your dressers upside down so if you have stuff in it, it goes everywhere! ( i always do and no other movers have an issue keeping the dressers upright). The movers are slower then I'm used to but they are much older then those I've hired before. Was looking forward to referring this place to others but not anymore. Ps. I will always keep my reviews honest and will not revise or take down any review just because the owner asks me to. Master Lee Moving responded immediately to my request online. They were super fast with electronic message and easy to get ahold of. I'm our seraph they were the most affordable hourly rates around. I'm not sure why but this was the longest move of my life, maybe it's because we were paying by the hour? We had already packed maybe 1/3 of the place ourselves. However, it took them thirteen hours to pack and move our two bed apartment in SF to San Jose. I've never used a packing service so I'm not sure if this is a normal amount of time, but it felt so long. The guys did a good job. We still have to open boxes, but nothing looks broken so far! As other reviews mentioned they do not speak English. This lead to confusion and not having enough supplies. My husband and I had to buy more boxes and supplies in the middle of our move to even have enough for the movers to do their job. That was a lot of extra stress and running around on top of just regular moving stress. We got them coffee and food. When it came to pay the "recommended" tip, the tip was not so recommended and actually a hidden mandatory fee they have and demanded it. We had negotiate this fee after moving 13 hours, which was exhausting and a weird customer service move. With their "recommended" tip, they're just as pricey as the next guy if not more. Idk if I would recommend this company given the stress and confusion the communication issues caused and the weird "recommended" tip/mandatory fee thing, but overall the job was done and done well. They say that the truck they moved me in broke down after the first trip ( I needed two trips to move all my belongings) to scam me and charge me for another day! Negative zero stars if you ask me. Beware!!oh and they took entirely too long wrapping my items which took up more time purposely in order to charge me more money as well as they stood around at one point for 30 mins while I was on the phone complaining to so called management and utilizing the language barrier to delay my move to charge me more money!!Management was rude and at one point refused to further communicate with me after voicing my complaints.They also left items from another move of some sort legs to a table of some sort and some wooden pieces for me to have to dispose of which I didn't notice until it was too late. Excellent service! We are completely satisfied with the team that was sent to handle our work. I booked everything via Yelp and then the company followed up with text messages. I asked for 4 movers which was perfect. We have A LOT of stuff. The gentlemen came in and immediately got to work. And they are careful, efficient and fast! They worked hard the entire time. They packed somethings for us and they disassembled and reassembled a very annoying Ikea bed (all those pieces). We moved 4 bedrooms full of furniture and boxes plus a refrigerator in under 6 hours. FYI the distance between the two houses is 2 miles. And bonus they scheduler didn't harass me like a couple of the other companies that I contacted. We used Google translator to communicate and it was all good. No issues with communication. I saw that they only speak Mandarin in other reviews. I hope I won't be moving again any time soon (because who wants to move, it's a lot) but if I do, I will happily roll with Master Lee! Highly recommend! My friend and I were moving out out of our current place and needed someone else to move our big items such as beds and furniture. We requested a quote and they were the best deal and they are super responsive if you have any questions. They asked if they could come earlier in which we compromised as we're still between the old and new place taking the small things. They arrived early and situated the truck in our driveway which by the way is on a little slope and narrow, they are pros! They quickly got to work, a team of two and nothing was too big or small for them. As I was gathering clothes in my closet to take myself they brought a wardrobe box and I gladly accepted the offer considering our new place was upstairs. They even offered to take another small wardrobe organizer I planned on taking myself, they insisted so I took them up on the offer. We had listed out the items during our quote but it looks like it was no issue adding things as they were loading the truck. When we told them the unit was upstairs they had no issues. Super professional, great communication (even with a little bit of language barrier, the used Google translate to ensure everyone was on the same page.) I would definitely recommend them! I've moved 9 times in 13 years, so unfortunately I've had to deal with a lot of moving companies. I would definitely recommend Master Lee Moving! - showed-up on time, maybe even 4-5 minutes early - communication was easy despite a language barrier - they moved quickly! - everything was boxed and wrapped well - ample moving blankets were supplied - furniture was disassembled and assembled without issue - timeliness! I even requested a pick-up of another piece of furniture at an alternate location on route to my new home, and there was no additional charge for this. They charge by the hour and they moved non-stop, packed the truck efficiently so everything was moved-out and moved back in, in a timely manner. The 2 man crew was efficient with their teamwork and they took extra care with some of my pricier furniture items. They were even able to move some bigger pieces of furniture through small doorways, without damaging the walls. Considering the weekend day I booked them, the price was right too. I did end up with a few nicks and dings, no more than 3, on some of my bedroom furniture where the straps were drawn a little too tight. Google Translate is your friend. That being said, although I don't know their names I find them very quick and helpful. Very professional, calm and quiet demeanor listening to our requests and was not hard to work with at all. Mind you they had to go to address 1 to pick up a bunch of boxes, then address 2 for more boxes and furnitures, and then the final destination. 2 truck loads allowed them to bring 95% of our things. I would categorize them as continual worker bees that work nonstop. I felt bad for them kept offering water despite not having much food around. For a decently hot day and working straight 8.5 hrs they were very pleasurable to work with no complaints. I would definitely recommend them and use them again in the future. Moving is an endeavor and they made this move less burden some. In my opinion, it probably saved my back, endless hours of yacking at my brother for not thinking, dings in walls and other broken things. And more importantly saved me time I have a feeling if I had even attempted this even with like a battalion of friends it would have still taken twice as long. read more

Master Lee said he would refund us for the horrible job. We have not received a dime. But we have found more things ruined after getting them out of the pods. The wardrobes we'd paid extra for were not use for hanging, but stuffing our clothes on their hangers into the wardrobe with a lot of my shoes smashed at the bottom (some ruined). Thank goodness I'd packed most of the really breakable items as they broke a large pot and shattered the glass on a large piece of art. Our day started off well, because we knew we had a big move ahead of us. They came a little late (30 mins) and then proceeded to have a large truck come through. We did specify a smaller truck because our new house had a steep driveway (more on that later). They wrapped up most of our furniture although curiously didn't really wrap the TV that well except in a moving blanket and set it on the side of the truck. Fortunately, our other TV was in a box so that was well protected. The movers do not speak English at all so it is really hard to understand them. They are rough on the stairways and corners which is really noticeable when you have an Edwardian house with small corners. We had some knicks and dings in our apartment which we had to fix. A few boxes were broken during the move and several boxes were rdopped. After a few hours of helping them move all of our stuff down to the truck, we proceeded to head to our new home in Walnut Creek. This is where it got interesting. We arrived at our house and they couldn't get up the drive way and did not have another truck available. They asked me to help them drive some things with my own SUV and then for the heavy stuff I had to goto UHaul while they waited there. They were charging us the entire time (with their mandatory tip) waiting an 90mins. They were supposed to get a smaller truck but this was really hard to communicate with them. After picking up our UHaul, we moved lot of the furniture and tables up the hill. Many boxes were dropped, including lot of her beauty materials (she's an esthetician). They complained that the boxes were too heavy (although these were not heavy at all) and also they scratched the front stairway, made dents into our walls, and broke her organizer after dropping it from the truck. After they finished, the lady on the line said that it is mandatory we tip them 20% for the job, but the refused and said we had to pay them 30% for each hour they worked, AND waited. All in CASH. We didn't want to pay this but they got pretty aggressive. I told the lady on the line what happened and she said that we would get our tip back so although we had damage to our walls (in which we will fix and repaint) at least she was willing to SOMEWHAT make amends. A couple weeks later, she replies that the boxes were to heavy (the boxes that she broke were literally 20 lbs) - surprisingly the heavy boxes they dropped (which I recommend - black / yellow boxes from home depot) stayed intact but the other boxes they dropped broke. The cell number told us not to text any more and they do not want to pay us any more even though previously promising we would get our TIP money back. Even though we were overcharged for hours, didn't have the appropriate truck making the move twice as long, and damaging our property. It would really help if they spoke some english, but they don't. They are cheaper in general, but if you want to protect your items or have anything valuable be REALLY careful on how they move things and protect your walls. I recommend not paying in cash because you can't dispute anything later. I'm not one to write negative reviews but this was one of the worst experiences I've had in terms of moving. I guess you get what you pay for but this was ridiculous. read more

The reason I am giving 4 not 5 is because when the finished moving furniture and had to assemble bed, only one guy was working on that. Yes, over 10 and I asked them all the same questions. No one could beat MLM's pricing and customer service. 2. MLM got back to my quote request almost immediately and answered all follow up questions promptly and thoroughly until I was 100% comfortable moving forward without any pressure - all of this was much appreciated! 3. Fannie's communication throughout the entire process was AMAZING. She is super kind, accommodating, intelligent and helpful. She made sure I understood all options, booked the best time, made adjustments to my booking when needed and always followed up to make sure everything was going good. 4. The movers on the day of were very hard working, respectful, strong, extremely quick and intelligent people. They knew how to move things and they knew how to do it very well. BUT, I might only use them for smaller moves now because I felt so bad for the workers. There were only 2 of them and there were 4 of us. We helped them as much as we could by bringing things up. We moved from a 1 flight of stairs place to a 2 flight of stairs place. The heavy lifting and back and forth was extremely tiring for them and it showed. They looked so overworked. I wish they had one or two more people with them. Nevertheless, I paid them a generous tip of 20 per hour to make sure they are paid for their work. My suggestion to Master Lee moving is to add the option of more workers and not just 2. You could see the exhaustion on their faces. The language barrier was better this time but it was still hard to explain to them what to do. We had to look up mandarin words to communicate. Like how to tell them to pack big things first. Or which goes where. We ended up doing work ourselves too. Out of everything, only one thing broke and I wasn't too surprised because the bookcase that was broken was made of poor material and was not mine anyway. So no hard feelings there. I think it was because it was upside down on the dolly when they were bringing it up. For the price that they are at, it is as expected. Other companies charge well over 500 - 1,500 for a move like ours (with more people though) and I think with that, I have no complaints. No hidden fees, i got the respond very quick and so I picked them right away. Although it was only 2 men work, but the managed it nicely and it was good enough. I used them to move my piano 4 months ago from Sf to Fairfield. PROs -responsive on Yelp and cellphone text. -provided the best rate *(asterisk) -available in very short notice. CONS -hard to communicate cause none spoke English. Google translate and some hand gestures were ways we communicated. -rate was the best until he demanded "tips" for the movers. I was already fully committed @ this time and could not reschedule the move due to other logistics that depended on this move date. Plus tips, the cost was similar to the 2nd lowest quote I received. -they need to take more precaution as to not damage my floors. Luckily my floor was under warranty and I had the floor installer remove/replace the scratched hardwood floor for free. Overall: If they can minimize the damage to my floor by taking time to plan the route, they would get 5-stars. Originally I gave them 3 stars but after using them a 2nd time, they got an extra star cause they did better the 2nd time. No damages. In final, I would recommend them. Just be patient with the communication and MAKE SURE you are concern about your floors or whatever it is you are concern about them damaging. read more

Just like previous reviews, I wanted to give Master Lee 5 stars, but they definitely need to improve on the language barrier. We previously told them we have a piano to be moved and that we put on the yelp request it will be moved 1 floor down and then moved to the new house 1 floor up [See photo attached]. Possibly due to the language barrier, they didn't understand the request and thought the piano is on the ground floor and would require only 2 movers. On the day of the move, the two movers told us they weren't informed that the piano would need to be moved. They would need an additional person and cost an additional $100. We later got into an argument with management because they told us it was on the ground floor even though we showed them the conversation on yelp that it's going to be moved 1 floor down and later 1 floor up [see attached photos]. Management also continued to blame us that we didn't inform them that it would be moved down a floor and up a floor. Very unprofessional to blame a client even though we showed them hard proof. We decide to stop the argument and let them get a 3rd mover to come and let them charge us the extra $100 because we just wanted the job done at this point. After the move the management only charged us the previous agreed price and all was forgiven. The movers on the other hand were very professional and understood our frustration and tried their best to get the job done. They took good care of the items and worked hard to move everything correctly. Felt very bad that the movers had to wait on the 3rd mover before starting the job again.
