This place is awesome! It's been there since I was like 2 (if not longer), and I'm 18 now! They're open every day from 4am to 4pm except for December 26th; they're probably the hardest working people I ever seen. My favorite is the maple bar, but ever once in a while I go crazy and try the chocolate chip bar (it is filled with chocolate chips! ahhh), and when I'm feeling fat I eat the bran muffins (it also helps me poo hehe). The lady (Dee) and the man (Tong) who works there are adorable, they knows almost everyone on a first name bases. (hehe they know me and my family, obviously we go there a lot) The only problem is that this place gets really busy certain times in the day and people order a lot of donuts so you might have to wait a few minutes--} it sucks when you only want like 2 or 3 donuts and the person in the front of the line is taking their sweet time ordering like 5 dozen donuts =( picking them out one by one ugh p.s. i have been going to this place for years. It is a well kept secret of Citrus Heights. Never in my life have I found another chocolate chocolate chip bar as satisfying as the one at this donut shop. At first it seems to be only a normal chocolate bar with chocolate chips on top, but when you bite into it you get hit with a delicious chocolatey suprise that just melts in your mouth. it's a perfectly balanced donut and is neither too heavy or sweet. this donut has kept me coming back for years.. I always bring in donuts once a month for our meetings and usually I stop at a grocery store on the way in, but since I pass these guys every day, I figured why not give them a chance. Never again....First turn off, young girl at the counter was snotty and pissy with me and some other lady was yelling in some other language in the background. Second turn off, the price was higher than Bel Air! Maybe I have no clue, but I thought that donut shops would to be cheaper than the grocery store??? Went in one Thursday and all the donuts were sold out, just bare shelf! I was there to order fritters for the weekend, thank goodness I didn't need donuts!! He refused, saying he wasn't going to touch the donuts with his hands because he would use tongs. Regardless, basic hygiene and food-handling practices should be taken seriously, especially when serving customers. At that point, I decided not to order anything and left. The entire experience felt unprofessional, unsanitary, and unwelcoming. It's disappointing to see a business operate this way. Management should seriously review customer service expectations and food safety procedures.
